Immigrants across Canada want us to accommodate, work around and adopt their culture practices too. They don't try to become Canadian, they want us to become Indian. At my husband's workplace, they are told repeatedly they are not to speak other languages, only English, when speaking near other people who don't speak your language. They don't stop, they don't listen... so the bosses give up... because they're Indian too! Welcome to Walmart.

I disagree with the mass immigration under his reign: Canada’s healthcare system has been on life support for decades… inflation, tent cities and food insecurity. We need to fix our own problems before allowing immigration: “we need to put on our own O2 mask before helping others”. Stating that, since the Indian population has grown in Brampton, what’s the solution? They are already there— i know many ppl who have come to Canada and do not know the language, can only speak Italian, and Chinese… to name a few. Seems like the ppl who are already in Brampton can speak English, and chose to speak their own language amongst themselves. \nIn Toronto we have Greek, China, Corso Italia, little Tokyo, Little Jamaica, little Portugal, little Malta, Roncesvalles (polish), and Ukrainian towns. \nI’m on the fence: since they are already here, when is it considered Racism??? \nHonest question.. looking for insightful answers and or information.

It's not just Brampton phone a government agency most people who answer the phone are from India or that area and can't even speak English stop immigration from India and the middle East and start immigrating from Europe only before Canada is no longer at all white or Caucasian Alberta is the same there's Edmonton who is mostly controlled by Pakistani in India British Columbia's being bought by the Chinese it's ridiculous there is no real Canadians left except the people who work everyday just to feed their families in construction farming and the oilfield we need to away the country handles immigrants there's no integration I think it's a shame when you go walking around any city in the country and most of the people are talking some foreign language and not English

My family and I migrated to Canada in the 90’s. I order to migrate I was told that I must be able to speak one of two languages, either English or French. I guess this is not so anymore. Follow the money that people pay to come to Canada and you will be able to figure out why Brampton is in this situation.

Toronto is almost there. English is not the majority language anymore. Even the White people do not speak it. The only good thing about Brampton is the majority are from Delhi and not Dearborn.

We have the same problem. I actually like the people, but….somehow, immigrants have managed to have been able to acquire the vast majority of retail jobs in our area. How is that possible? There are businesses and fast food chains with not one white person working as an employee. I spoke to a former worker that was at one of these businesses for years and asker her WTF happened? She told me that the company hired a new manager from India, within 6 months, half the staff were Indian, local students were not being hired for part time jobs, only Indians, by the end of the year, every single employee was Indian. \nShe along with other quit their jobs because….not because they’re racist, but because not only were they being treated differently than the now majority brown workers, but they were being made to feel excluded because…the manager and the new staff all spoke a different language, they would all work together in a group not speaking English at all, saying things and laughing making it pretty obvious that they were making fun of the white employees. The “manager” would ignore the white staff’s complaints and he would then seemingly punish them by giving them less hours, change their duties and give “the good shifts” to the new brown people to the point where the white people were made to feel alienated as well as cutting back their hours leaving them with not enough hours to make a living. “This is Canada Mother Fecker” these people need to speak our language when they’re in public or at the workplace with “Canadians” or…employers should fire them. I will note, that the A&W that this happened at, has changed not only by every single employee being brown, but the service is not near as friendly, they all speak to each other in a different language behind the counter.. the seating area is not even close to being clean, the tables usually are left with trays and garbage that aren’t being cleaned as customer leave. It so bad sometimes that I literally have to pick a dirty table and remove the garbage myself because every available table has not been cleaned….and the bathrooms …. I don’t even want to talk about it they’re so disgusting. And when you complain….they turn to other employees and speak a different language… so we have no idea about WTF they are actually doing or saying about the issue. “ Thank you Sir, we will take care of that.” And the next day…it was the same. I’ve stopped going there along with everyone that I know…our work crew along with our families can no longer support such a dirty, rude and disrespectful business.

Immigration is good when done correctly but with the majority of people who come here they do not want to be Canadian. They don't want to live with us. So many never talk English and they want to live with their people, they own way and pretend we don't exist and are living in their country in ours. It sucks working with people who can speak english but 95% of the time they only talk in their language. Then they mention your name as they arent speaking english. It\\'s a shitty feeling and a lot of them don't care.

Same thing in Hamilton. They are super loud on their phones, speak their language in coffee shops amongst employees, they completely took over the new Amazon plant. (Like 90% Indian or Pakis) I never used to be racist, but now I AM. Its a rape of our culture.

Sault Ste Marie has had an influx of East Indian students in the last 8 years, and now thx to Trudeau, it looks like a suburb of India. Young Saultites now have to compete for jobs without success. Go to the local KFC where all the employees are East Indian and speaking a foreign language behind the counter. This is not my hometown. I celebrate and welcome diversity but this is overkill!

Australia is also becoming a shithole. That leaves Canada and NZ. NZ doesnt have that good of job prospects and limited scope and I love Canada, always have. in my opinion - its the governments cold hard financial planers who decided they need new young workers to pay taxes and social security to support all the older generations retiring , so they import foreigners , now 23% of Canadian were not born there , or 30% of Australians were not born there --- but the actual people who live there look around and wonder why 30% of the country doesn't speak the same language and has extremely different culture values and feel displaced from there own homes , also foreigners tend to work cheaper and take housing supply -- lowering wages and driving up housing costs further angering locals

As a Canadian living in Quebec, know that the first rule to properly integrating is learning to speak french...we actually pay immigrants to learn the language, not interested in the language? Go west, east, or south and speak english

FYI Vancouver is the 2nd city in the world where the most languages are spoken. More than 170. I lived in Vancouver for 30 years and my grandparents from the late 1930's until they died. All in all, Vancouver was part of my life for over 50 years. You can not compare Van with TO. Vancouver is very multiculteral with not alot of segregation depending on where in Van you are. TO is much larger. No mountains. No oceans. No big evergreen forests or close by trails, ect. I liked the people I met in TO but would never live there again. Van NO ice storms. But yes, Van rains much. It is West Coast after all. Victoria has many more annual sunlight hours. Van is land locked, surrounded by ocean. Most of those from TO speak negatively about BC in general. We would ask them why they are here (VCR) then. I left 12 years ago as Van is now ruined; nothing like it used to be.

Not only are they entering illegally, many that are in the U.S. illegally or legal are just looking at there phones and not even attempting to assimilate and learn English. I have noticed that almost every foreign speaking person is just looking at their phones and listening to media in their own language. If I was seeing some watching English media or at least trying to learn the language it would at least be a step in the right direction, but they ignore everything in English! Social media has a stranglehold on American culture!! There are several Spanish speaking groups being brought in to work in retail and grocery stores and it's just the same thing, they don't know hardly a word of English. If they come here even legally, they should be learning English, we shouldn't have to learn Spanish in our own country or whatever language they are speaking!!!!!Speak English or go back to your own countries, your culture is not our culture! Learn our laws, our history and our ways or stay out of our country!!!

Let's learn from the US...skills and talent...sure... But every single person i talk to at every single store and fast food chain isnt skilled labor and im not one to say this but especially the Ukrainian immigrants very literally don't speak any English which should be required in order to hold a job here. There is too much immigration. A lot are from low skilled countries. Canadia culture is collapsing. Soon English and French will not be important and we will be speaking Farsi or some wonderful south Asian language (India, Pakiastani etc).

I think racism is on the rise in Canada, because communites are seeing masses of Indians overtaking their community and erasing canadian culture and replacing it with their own. India is a third world country, I don't think nice canadian communities are receptive to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Indians then coming into that community and speaking their own language, playing their own music, following their own relegion, celebrating their own holidays, dressing like they do back home, playing cricket and soccer etc... and that becoming common place rather than tradidional canadian culture. They want canada to stay Canadian and I'm all for that. Not to mention the housing crisis.

If citizenship is their goal, then they should learn to speak English AND French, speak our languages in our streets, not demand schools in the Punjabi language or that CBC (taxpayers) pay for Hockey Night in Canada in Punjabi, when its already available in French and English. it changed just in few years. i was proud to say I have the privilege to be a Canadian citizen. I got a college degree, I speak the language, follow it rules. Today we can see a third world country ruling this country.

Never trust the average « house price » on Internet…856k in Toronto? That was a price 20 years ago. Today, this is a condominium and not a house. If you Google average house price in Montreal ut say 500k… impossible. At least not on Montreal island. You can get a 1 bedrooms condominium for that price.\n\nI grewup here in Montreal and even if our city is very multiculturalthere there is still less visible minority here: 32% compare to 57% in Toronto. Employers can be more selective. I have a immigrant name, and my husband is a native French Quebecois, we both have the same bachelor degree and I even have better grade than him, but he always get 10 times more interviews than me. People change their attitude instantly when they heard that I have the local accent. « Oh, you are from here! » If you don’t speak perfectly French and master English, you can’t find a job in a big corporation. The language is also a natural barrier that protect the local job to be exported.

Indian students coming here for second rate colleges are completely unrealistic. They don't have marketable skills yet, the language skills are very poor. It takes a lot of effort to succeed. A student visa is not the golden ticket to prosperity. \nDo your research before you come. \nMake a serious effort to speak english that can be understood. \nBe honest about your motivation. \nMy parents chose Canads. \nOnce you move here that is your home country. Im from the UK and I just left. QC and the French speakers are the reason, its a recent law change. They dictate if you can have have PR based on your language ability and nothing else. I worked at the worlds largest video games studio as a senior developer, a degree, a decade in my field and I couldn't get PR but I lived above a jobless drug addict from Paris that could speak French and they had PR. I couldn't buy a house, I couldn't start a family without it. I moved to the states instead.

Let me say it, u didn't do ur research before moving abroad, abroad life is not for lazy ppl who don't want to work on their own. Didn't u know how was the life abroad wen u have ur relatives there. And the positions u r saying are voluntary for parents, it's not a job,it's called lunch duty. You didn't try to find how life, society is there. Who asked u to hire a basement, looks like that u weren't financially ok therefore u had to hire a basement. Ppl have nice houses there. Madam, ur qualification was not suitable to get a job in canada if u r in teaching. Ur english has to be iltes level. I have relatives who are in IT and have very good salary, live in big houses. So it seems u didn't have proper skills and qualifications to get a decent job there. If u have experience u don't have to start from the scratch. U are not fit to live abroad u seem a lazy person. Ppl like u are only suitable for india. Food options are alot in canada for veggies. Healthcare is good there and free. They have a discipline there. Canada is expensive may be u couldn't cope there. let's be honest as an international student I am in awe of how some internationals can study in Canada when they can't even speak English properly .. when I came here I needed to pass IELTS and get a band 7 for everything all my documents and transcripts were directly sent from the official email of my institution. I need to pass an exam before enrolling for my course, I have criminal, abuse registry, and child registry checks in my country and even when I am in Canada. Did all the immunizations needed and abide by their law i need to submit all these documents every 6 months access. to the policy of the program I am doing. And as an international remember you are coming to Canada they have their own culture so you need to respect and adjust to it, not Canada adjusting to you... even though Canada is diverse they have its own rules so yes adapt to the place where you are. And to them blaming the agency you the people who are using them knew exactly what they were getting into now you are complaining I did all my applications through DIY as IRCC is a direct applicant why need agents for application. Ircc should also question why a person needs an agent to process their applications. If they can't understand basic instruction and basic legal matters would you think those students will be able to survive the education system here in Canada? let's be real a lot of students are taking short-term courses, short like 8 months, and yes to get PR (I wouldn't lie cause that would be hypocrisy all international students have that aim, and if you say no just stay in your country). Now this a lesson to IRCC that they really need to make a thorough background before offering a PR permit ..and please when you are in public speak English respect the people around you... and don't speak too loud in your language when you are in working places.. uphold professionalism again remember you are in Canada a french English speaking country. And don't start with me about being racist.... cause it is plainly common sense.

The government need that .they give international student's work until 40hours .some factories workers they don't speak English or French. Local language. enough is enough .but ithink the government like that , they don't care. Loops is happy.

International Students? They hardly understand and speak English. What are they studying? I guess these colleges have language interpreters for them in each class. They avoid eye contact and pretend to be mute to avoid any kind of conversation.

Canada sucks. I came here as a doctor only to find endless blocks and hoops and loops. Before settling here I was told ENDLESSLY about the paradise I was about to move to (Canadians love to present their country as such), and how a job as a doctor would be there for me since I meet the qualifications. You come here and reality hits, this is a bureaucratic nightmare of a country! The lack of Canadian experience is also an excuse for discrimination. I speak four languages, worked in different countries including Colombia, USA, France. Somebody please explain to me what is so extraordinary about Canadian experience that one cannot learn elsewhere? BTW Canadian medicine is TERRIBLE, BAD! I am leaving in June, got a pretty good job lined up back home in Colombia!

You look very young but still, you lived in so many places around the world from Germany to Indoneasia, and now, you are five years in Canada, but you look, of course, from the far east, so that’s another probably four country, oh my God, you lived everywhere in this world, I wonder how many languages you speak by now, good luck for you you are very good explainer, I love cold, lovely, snowy weather, but just enjoy it, but not to live in it. I guess wherever you want to move to, it has to be a muslim-majority country. I'm a Singaporean but currently living in Amman for the past 16 years. I won't advise you to come here though raising your kids here would be wonderful. One obvious factor that makes me not recommend you is the economy of the country. Many graduates here can't find a good job.. pay is low, high cost of living and so many would rather work in the gulf countries. But moving to an islamic country and raising my kids here, where they learn the deen and speak Arabic as the first language is ultimately the reward. Especially that we are very close to Palestine makes my kids be more aware of their deen and inshaAllah remain steadfast. Alhamdulillah

I lived in Pakistan for 5 years for medical school. As much as I appreciated it, I knew I could not settle there. You will appreciate all the little things once you move. You can get ripped off by utilities company over there. Unless you know someone in power you don’t stand a chance. The inflation there is much higher than here. Some days you can’t find any meat or other foods. Almost everyone is trying to rip you off. Also safety is an issue. I was young and dumb. I was never targeted but it happens to locals all the time. As a westerner they can spot you a mile away even if you dress like them. You’re complaining about the cold, wait till you feel the heat. Electricity goes out all the time. You need to know people and have family in these countries. You can’t get things done independently like you can in the west. Also there are very few jobs that allow for the standard of living you are used to. If you are willing to sacrifice 90% of what you have now then you might have a chance. Lastly, you will most likely have to put your children in an American school when you get there because they don’t speak the language and they will act like westerners. And hide your wife from YouTube for God’s sake. If you had a billion dollars would you broadcast it to the world?
