This is addressed mainly to the ugly Indian: My generation came to the racist west and built a golden reputation. We worked hard, assimilated, paid our taxes, and obeyed the laws. We were humble. We celebrated our native cultures within the confines of our communities. While it was frustrating to be invisible in white culture, we never sought to conquer them with our culture. We were ethical to the hilt. Our generations were poor -- yet we struggled to help others in India and in the west. We were NEVER on the dole. Personally I think it is rude to enter a nation (in the west or anywhere in the world) with naked opportunism. Speaking for myself -- despite neocolonialism, I admired western civilization, especially its older forms. \n \nBut the ugly Indian who comes now is loud, brash, socially irresponsible, exploitative, money-hungry, opportunistic, and arrogant beyond belief (full of the hubris that comes from sudden new wealth). They look down on us who have been here a while. They are used to a servant-culture and look down on white working class people, as if they are servants. As for second generation Indians in the west, they can be racist towards us first generations. But the opposite is true as well. Indian newcomers see them as an alien species. Indians do tend to hire their own and stick to their own identities -- I do not mean the Indian identity, but their native state identities. All this feeds into the primary and secondary forms of western racism that are already simmering beneath the surface. This new genre of Indians is destroying the goodwill we have built. I have personally witnessed arrogant young Indian students cutting the line to reach the front desk. No manners, no ethics. As a first generation Indian immigrant I get annoyed. So why shouldn't native born westerners (who are already racist)? \n \nBut to complain about how they smell is rude beyond belief. This must stop.

I always keep upto date with FP news but this was so biased and failed to address the issue fully and accurately. Firstly, the economy of India or the foreign policies of India has little to do with the power of the Indian passport. According to that logic US, China and Russia should be the top 3 in the passport ranking - but it is not. @3:35 The logic is visible and the west does not need to explain it. It is the quality of the people visiting the western countries. There is a significant number of Indian citizens who would migrate without the intention to return. This fact unfortunately affects everyone holding an Indian passport. FP also needs to see that middle class in India is not at a middle class standard worldwide. I presume those countries which has slightly stronger passport than India has populations which are a tiny fraction of those wanting to travel with an Indian passport.

As an Indian living in Australia, i support the rejection of visas. Indian behave like they're living in India. Ladies in my class from punjab will speak only punjabi and ask desi lectures if they can teach the class in Hindi. \nAlso occasionally the khalistanis will do demonstrations here creating traffic. \nMany indians visiting nearby Vietnamese cities lile bali also disrespect locals there. They think all the ladies there will sleep with them for money.\n\nThe reporter should see this side of Indians before questioning the west on why they reject visas. Even 1% rejection on 100k Indian visas is a 1000 rejected visas. While a less populous country may have 10% rejection out of 1000 visas which is 100 rejections. So, in % terms, India fare well despite having higher rejections.\nFiring shots at Kosovo, Cuba and B Faso is a cheap shot and unnecessary to push the point of passport rank. All countries have a right to determine who they allow into their country with lower restrictions. And they are under no obligation to open the gates to anyone. It is also common knowledge that the newer cohorts of Indian immigrants to the West are a bad representation of Indian society (best example - Canada). Hence the rising anti Indian Immigration stance. Immigration is a privilege and not a right. First of all why there is craziness to visit abroad. Let western nations come and beg for indian visas. We have everything in our mother land. I didn’t understand that comment- west wouldn’t answer the reason behind India’s low passport ranking. The ranking is based on how many of the 200+ countries give you visa free access. Hence its Indian govt. diplomacy and other factors that will help improve that ranking now west countries…

In US DFW airport as soon as you exit the airport premises you will start smelling awful odor, walk few steps ahead you will see the reason, all the poles are covered with a grainy red paint like stuff, which as a proud Indian, you would definitely know what it is. Indian talent is a hoax. Nw US and west is getting better engineers from countries like Russia, Ukraine,Vietnam,Phillipines, Brazil. Even Taiwanise/chinise are catching up fast. In next 10 years. Indian media needs to understand that respect is earned, not demanded or forced. Many Indians I have met in foreign countries tend to boast about their homeland while choosing to live in a developed country without fully integrating into the local culture.
