So for those with partners who are undocumented, you can expect one day that partner simply won't return home. Prepare for the worst. It is now a reality. Your partner leaves the house, goes to work at a factory or whatever job and the location gets raided. Even if that person is latino and 'legal', it will take time to sort out the confusion. That person may not be carrying documents showing permanent residency. It won't matter. Once you're on a truck, headed to some undisclosed location as an 'illegal', that's it. They will face the same problems Europe is facing The country of origin is not willing to take them back in large amounts, especially not the ones who got criminalized in the US. If Trump had gotten 65 or 70 percent of the vote, that’s called a mandate. When Trump won in 2016 my grandmother, who got her citizenship back in 1974, was contacted by the govt and they threatened to deport her. She was freaking out, luckily my aunt took care of all the paperwork and she's still here.
