I don't really understand one of experiences during my visit in Canada, I am a HongKonger and one time when I was visiting Toronto, some people with different ethnic background made a comment on my English, they said my English was good. But the fact that there are tons of Chinese/Hong Kong looking people living Toronto who speak perfect English or better than me. I really don't get this, those people who made comment are Indian, Russian, even Canadian born Chinese, they didn't even know I was just a visitor. I don't know much about the standard/definition of racism in Canada, is this incidence considered some kind of racism/stereotype? I am humbly asking for your perspectives on this.

It is NOT just race. Depending on the bag or backpack you carry, you get followed, which I hate. And I'm not black. My mother also gets followed everywhere in every Macy's store. It drives me crazy. I am like hell no, never leaving Brampton. Brampton is safe city compare to some other GTA cities, look at statistics. This is really simple. Don't offer people free stuff. And don't make special exceptions for people. There are tons of people that come to canada (many just visiting or working) and just stay here rather than go through the proper steps (and get denied) because they know some bleeding heart liberals looking down on them will offer a bunch of them amnesty if they wait long enough and pay off the right people. There are tons of successful blacks in Canada, not all of them are like Drake's dad wo goes to prison or runs out on his family. There are plenty of successful Jamaicans in Canada that are highly successful. Jamaicans and other of African Descent are doctors, lawyers, schoolteachers, engineers, IT REPS, mechanics, accountants, biochemists, cops, and so much more. People who are successful in life, are successful because they made good choices and good decisions early on. For me, as a black person ive been told I should wear braids or dreadlocks whenever my hair is chemically straight. When I wear my hair naturally-winter season-I get a ton of compliments.
