A lot of Canadians I know are already boycotting American products.

Trudeau should be our next Prime Minister...!!! ?\nOur economies are so inter-twined because it WORKS! So many American companies have set-up plants in Canada in order to profit from doing business here. It's not just products that we MUTUALLY benefit from selling to each other, the US generates significant profits from its many operations in Canada, and those $Billions of dollars in profits that go back to American Investors is not included in the 'Trade Imbalance' that is a justification for the tariffs. With those profits included, I'd bet Canada is the nation with the imbalance not in its favor...

This dude's an idiot it's all bull crap everything the United States send to Canada we pay huge fees to sell our products there it's only right that Canadians do the same thing a 25% tariff the United States is still paying more to sell goods in Canada it's only right that Canada pays the 25% tariff as well as everyone else everywhere us products are sold every other country we have huge fees and markups charged to the companies that make them so they can promote local made and goods made within their own country it's only right that the United States does the same thing while our tax dollars go to support the whole world are companies should be able and our government should be able to recoup some of that money through tariffs it's only right I'm all for paying a little bit more money so that our country can recoup some of the money that we spend and send to their countries how many billions of dollars does Canada get from the United States and they're complaining about a little tariff but yet we send billions of dollars to support them

MAGA is going to lose their marbles when the price of bullets goes through the roof in the coming days. America has an insatiable appetite for ammo, so much so that there isn’t enough metals in the ground to keep pace with demand. America is able to supply about half of the needed metals required for the demand of ammunition production. \nTake a wild guess where the other half comes from… ????

Im so proud to be Canadian. I will take as much hardship to protect our beautiful Canada. Im buying only Canadian products and from countries that stand with democratic principles. My heart goes out to the American people. No citizen would have knowingly voted for the dismantling of their country and the suffering all will feel. Put your political view aside and pull together to save your families and country.

Wouldn't have been supreme if he said that he wasn't going to use tariffs but instead asked the Canadian people and businesses to boycott American products and they did so largely

I am so sorry to the people of Canada! I am ashamed to call myself American. I would move to Canada in a minute if I could. If anything, I will be buying Canadian products over our own.
|

The us has fallen so low there isn’t any further it can fall.\nNew Zealand here. We stand by Canada and stand for freedom!\nI will not buy a single product made in America until this madness ends.

Canada is a leader and raw model of the free world, followed by Mexico, as a former US citizen I’m terrible ashamed for what happened regarding the Tarifs and the shameful behavior in the Oval Office. As a European we support Canada and México,. We will also boycott American products.

Canada sell your products to others countries. Stop complaining and do something about it.

Canadians love Americans, there is family on both sides. Why is Trump being COUNTER PRODUCTIVE ?\nthis is negotiating ? what is the deal ? SPELL IT OUT \ndon't try and fool yourself or anyone with verbal crap > show me the numbers on paper, give references from reputable sources in USA. We like and need clarity. Details. Transparency.\npeople on both sides of the equation are intelligent and need the REAL DEAL > not bull.\nIt smells like Trump has not spelled it out. Is it a flip or a flop day ?

America flourished most after abandoning conservative 1940s-style protectionism in the decades following World War II, particularly during the postwar economic boom of the 1950s and 1960s. This period saw the rise of progressive free trade agreements, global economic cooperation, and industrial expansion.\n\nKey moments include:\n\t•\tThe General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) (1947) – This laid the foundation for reducing global trade barriers, leading to increased economic growth.\n\t•\tThe Marshall Plan (1948) – Rebuilding war-torn Europe created strong economic ties and markets for American goods.\n\t•\tThe postwar boom (1950s-60s) – Rising wages, a strong middle class, and industrial growth were fueled by global trade and increased productivity.\n\t•\tThe creation of the World Trade Organization (WTO) (1995) – Building on GATT, the WTO further expanded global trade opportunities for the U.S.\n\nIn contrast, returning to outdated protectionist policies today risks reversing decades of progress, leading to economic stagnation, inflation, and weakened global influence.

Trump showed his true color by supporting cold blooded murder Putin and damping Zelensky , by putting tariffs on Canadian products. As Iranian -Canadian citizen I will not buy American products. Shame on Trump.
|

Suffer Canada. You've added tons of tariffs on American products in the past and you're still doing it. Get your leftist act together. And you voted for Trudeau so that speaks for itself. Go cry to the choir.

Yankee doodles forget who they called to land their planes when 9/11 struck and they attacked themselves and people took them into their own homes….the world is going to respond. And maybe next time you can land your planes in the Atlantic instead of on our Rock. \n\nLargest Military on the Planet and you Can’t put out a few flames? LA California Burned to the Ground…But somehow you needed our water bombers and Helicopters? \n\n9/11 Struck and we shipped countless personnel to help and assist and relieve, recover, and rebuild. \nYou went to war with the Wrong Countries and we Went with you anyway. \n\nAmerican Companies Helped the Nazi’s building mass execution chambers and Tattooing machines for labelling. Hell, even going so far as a few years ago to try billing Germany for unpaid products received. \n\nAnd yet we still Ally with them?….\n\nWe are now turning off your Power supply. We Will Match your Tarriffs. \nAnd we will Fight you On or Off the Ice! \n\nOh and we’re putting Tarriffs on Silver. Apparently you Go home with Silver too often.
|

And you have exacted much much higher tariffs of your products for years . Why dont you seek non tarrif trade with us?
|

I don't buy any US products at all. Proud to be Canadian ????
|

The problem that i see here in Canada, each province doesn’t work together. One province will block other province flow of products. Hope that provinces will help one another.

Well, from a European perspective, Trump is making the US if not an enemy (yet, anyway), surely not an ally or a friend, as you used to be.\nLots of European contracts will be lost - European countries will rely more on each other and Canada, Australia and other countries that we know we can still trust.\nAnd European consumers will move from American products and companies, especially anything Musk related, because people are really bothered and upset here, how easily an erratic madman can take a democratic country into an oppressive, destructive country.\nWe have no issues with the American people, apart from that you voluntarily brought this upon yourselves (and us), although it was screamingly obvious already in 2016.\nAnd you did it twice...
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
B*o%yc*o%tt USA products ? \nEuropeans are your friends, not the USA.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Oh no Canadian products lmfao what are those exactly? Canada needs the US more than the US needs Canada. Gas prices are the only thing going to change in the US which will also hurt Canada since the pipeline is interconnected.
|

Trump is talking out of his ass. We are responsible for less than 1% of fentanyl. We pay more money to states than states pays to us. We helped with 911, their wars and their California fires. We invested Canadian money, & time & lost Canadian lives. When is USA paying us back ???? . \n\nTrump has sold USA to Russia. He is their puppet. \n\nThese tariffs will tank USA economy. \n\nCanada will be hit, but we will survive and thrive. \n\nTrump has united Canada. We will buy Canadian, support Canadians and create more Canadian jobs. We need to keep boycotting anything American. We need to raise prices to all products going to USA on top of tariffs & consider not selling some products. We need to make relationships with other countries who support Canada. We have pressure minerals, and oils. Let them figure out how to get them when Canada steps back.
|

With this happening hope the federal will have support to our entrepreneurs and have the local products prices affordable.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Hope Europe will react just as firm and determined as Canada has when tariff eventually applied to EU products. Well done Canada
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
So you had to hurt Canada by putting a tariff on their stuff so we can pay more for our product that we buy from them? I would say just let them pay more on our stuff and go from there.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
U S companies whose CEOs have supported Trump are going to see a huge increase of people boycotting their products.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Yeah because we're just supposed to allow everyone to sell their stuff here and buy our stuff here and sell it in their own country for as cheap as possible. We're not supposed to get paid for our services or our products we're just supposed to give everything out to these people for free. \nBut it's also funny everyone's against tariffs all of a sudden but when y'all were slinging out tariffs left and right against Russia You're perfectly acceptable of all the long-term ramifications.\nY'all were perfectly fine with the increased gas prices as long as the tariffs were against Russia but when tariffs are going against other countries and prices start going up because of it all of a sudden now you are against it.

I encourage citizens of Canada to not purchase anything from the United States. If any products from the USA come to Canada I hope you will refuse and turn away any products.

America will no longer carry others, you got high tariffs on America, we put high tariffs on you, turn about is fair play. We voted for Trump to do EXACTLY what's he's doing, this is why everyone is barking now, America has been carrying so many countries for so long, that everyone has forgotten, no longer though. As far as Russia goes, Ukraine is a cash cow money laundering country with a dictator, Russia is not the enemy here, it's you Globalists and Davos clowns that think you can influence the whole world like we are in the matrix, the cat is out of the bag, people are waking up, zelinski chose his fate, and disrespected the U.S. Trump put him in his place. Alot of you are so lost on global politics, all you professed military people saying Putin is the enemy just really shows how little you know. So go ahead Canada and act tough..........you know we carry your country, we don't need your power, our grid is strong, or products etc, the next thing will be car manufacturing plants coming back to America, from Canada and Mexico, where they should be. Let's see how long that tough talk pays Canadas bills ??????????

trump is costing farmer their markets. The US had to shell out some 32 billion as a result of his screw ups in his first term with his trade war with China. These tariffs will finish that job especially in combination with loss of farm labor, setting down USAID which purchased over 2 billion dollars in farm products , cutting conservation programs along with other support. trump should be impeached along with that WART called vance.

No wonder Canada has decided to concentrate trade to Europe, American arms manufacturers are switching producing American arms production outside the USA.\n\nCountries effected by trumps tariff wars will be signing trade agreements to trade outside the USA pushing down offshore prices of a range of products American consumers already consume in quantity.\n\nEurope and other trading partners will benefit from these short term moves. Trade flows, capital will reallocate to off shore locations.

Who started that war?\n\nHere is a list of tariffs Canada Imposes on U.S.\nGoods:\n- Dairy Products:\n- Milk: 270%\n- Cheese: 245%\n- Butter: 298%\n- Poultry: 238%\n- Eggs: 163%\n- Barley: 160%\n- Wheat: 94%\n- Sugar: 265%\n- Peanut Butter: 295%
