It currently costs 13.5 million dollars a year to house one inmate at gitmo. You do the math.

Gaza is about 25 miles long and 7 miles wide. THAT is it and that is too much for them to have? The West Bank is not much bigger and the current policy is that that land can be taken at will and it is happening. Arabs burned out of their homes and their land take. All has been centered on Gaza, of course, but no one has noticed what has been happening elsewhere.

I'm currently planning my immigration to Canada, and although it might be harder to do so, it's really nice to see a government actually address an issue

I have no doubt that this current administration is funding these sick escort services that are victimizing these poor people for political reasons. Look at them. They are devastated. Anyone who can trick them and bus them around while legally waiting for a hearing would do anything to try to get that damn wall built because Trump’s OCD needs it to be done. Where are our investigative journalists these days?

Stupid politician's statement that USA and Europe should allow Indians to live there without a visa is quite unrealistic. Every country has its own immigration laws and regulations, and it's standard practice to deport individuals who don't have proper documentation or visas ¹.
\n
\nIn fact, even India has its own set of rules and regulations when it comes to foreign nationals living and working in the country. It's not uncommon for countries to take action against individuals who violate their laws and regulations.
\n
\nThe concept of visa-free travel is not entirely unheard of, though. There are currently 16 countries that offer visa-free travel to Indian citizens, including Thailand, Mauritius, Nepal, and Bhutan. However, these countries still have their own set of rules and regulations that visitors must follow.
\n
\nIt's worth noting that the US government has been deporting illegal immigrants, regardless of their nationality, and it's not something that the Indian Prime Minister can simply override.
\n
\nRather than criticizing the politician's statement, it's essential to understand the complexities of international immigration laws and regulations. It's crucial to respect the rules and regulations of other countries, just as we expect foreign nationals to respect India's laws.

By controlling Sheikh Hasina India thought they became the 'super power'. Now the real super power of the world slapped hard and showed India who is still the real boss of the world. India is facing diplomatic blow at the all sides of the world. Toxic nationalism, religious fundamentalism and superiority complex made Indian current regime fragile. India is no longer a nation of Gandhi anymore, rather it's in ultra fundamentalist Modi's pawn.

They’re upset that they missed out on that Soros money. Not to mention the free healthcare, food stamps, monthly stipend, and a FREE plane ticket to anywhere in the country. Poland is currently being forced to use deadly force on the Muslim invaders into their country. If you forcefully push your way across a border, that’s an invasion and an act of war. Unfortunately it will end up being a reality on our border.

Who gives ? \nGet em out \n\nI'm noticing that there are some folks doing some serious whining about the Trump administration. So I thought I'd post some thoughts. \n\n1. Accept the fact that this is the leadership that we (the majority of) working, middle class Americans wanted. We are pulling the economic weight in this country and we are tired of pulling the weight of those that do not contribute.\n\n2. If you haven't already, get a job. Every business in the country is hiring. And you get paid for the work you do. And the harder you work and the more you learn, the faster you will advance, and the more you will earn. It's an amazing concept.\n\n3. Understand that if you are a U.S. Citizen, or have already started the legal process to become a U.S. Citizen that you are not going to get deported! I don't care what your favorite liberal media channel says.\n\n4. Tariffs are a bargaining chip. When you are in business you make deals, and sometimes you have to play hardball. That's how you get the deals you desire.\n\n5. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects you from discrimination by age, sex, race, etc. DEI openly violates this. Democrats want you to believe the opposite is true because they value your vote more than your quality of life.\n\n6. It's not the government's money, it's your money. You absolutely should give a damn about how it is spent.\n\n7. We are not the World Bank. If other countries need help they should raise their own finances. I don't recall receiving any hurricane relief money from India or China.\n\n8. Drill baby, drill. Want to know why? Because we have it. Are electric cars the future? Not in their current form. There is way more oil in the ground than lithium, and guess where most of that is? China. Want food prices to come down? Then energy costs have to come down. And that means oil, gas, coal, and nuclear. Unicorn farts and liberal tears won't power your car!\n\n9. The economy and the security of the country are far more important than your feelings, get over it.\n\n10. There are men and there are women. Simple as that.\n\n11. Education is to establish a learning core that prepares a child for the real, working world. Anything else is wrong.\n\n12. Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States and he won by a landslide — both the popular vote and the electorial vote. Get over it.

Ha-ha, President Gustavo Petro didn’t back down he actually also mirroed same tariffs to the usa—it's actually trump who did back down. We’re currently shifting away from relying on markets like the USA and moving towards the BRICS. We can find other markets, but the USA will lose its military presence in Colombia. That's a major strategic misstep, especially considering Colombia's 8 military bases from the Usa, that, you can not find elsewhere Ha-ha

Nothing is hidden because of social media. Criminal activity like drugs , burglary and car hijacking is rapidly increasing.\nIt is not safe for local Canadians then think who will protect Indian immigrants.\nRise in Racism because of political instability is another reason to be worried about.\nIllegal immigrants and refugee without background verification are settled with govt monetary support. It is from the tax of the public they running such programs.\nI saw India girls are easily getting targeted for sexual favour and live in relationships as no relatives to look after.\nHigh Taxes.\nIf any parent deciding to apply for education loan please rethink current scenario is difficult later blaming kids is of no use…

This is a result of US foreign policy, the Monroe doctrine. Don’t think that the current administration is going to do anything positive for their countries. He literally ran on the Monroe doctrine, the only thing that he is trying to do is make the private president industry very profitable

American citizen here. To all my Canadian comrades, I'm truly sorry that we have such a non sensible person as President. As true allies and partners of the US that you all beautiful and wonderful people have been since the dawn of time, it's embarrassing for me to hear of these horrid tactics from our current administration.

I'm just speculating, but obviously Trump's stated reasons for the tariffs against Canada don't reflect his real strategy. He wants to exert maximum pain and pressure on the current liberal government in Canada so that its more likely a conservative like Poilievre will get elected. Then, he'll end the tariffs handing him a victory and thus solidifying a conservative influence. Maybe. In any case, he wants more influence over Canada and its unnerving to watch.

Canada’s current GDP: 2.14 trillion.\nUSA’s current GDP: 27.36 trillion. \n\nAs a Canadian, we’re going to barely make a dent in retaliatory measures and the US has about 6.4 trillion dollars in spending money to completely obliterate us. It’s not smart to retaliate…

Canada will give concessions at some point. Like regular war, in a trade war everyone is hurt. But Canada will go into a recession unless it appeases America. And America can do this because Canada has the better deal currently.
|

First we want election and change the current government.
|

my prediction is canada will step back from the retaliation very soon, simply because USA is too dominant on canada economical and political. current canadian politician do not have the power or capability to stand against US.

Closing the boarder is not an answer, it is just incompetent leadership. Everyone agrees that immigration is an issue, but it can be mitigated using the proper levers of current laws. Resources are needed, not bigotry.

Australian here. The US ranks alongside China as an unreliable trade partner, and I think it would be a huge risk for countries to assume that the US would honour any security pacts.\n\nAll branches of US Government are corrupted:\n\n1. Supreme Court - what would happen in your country if a justice of the highest court in your land was found to have accepted millions of dollars in financial benefits from a billionaire with business before the court.\n\n2. Whitehouse - a convicted felon is currently the President and he is supported by people who can’t even convince him the reality of who pays tariffs.\n\n3. House of Representatives - name one piece of legislation of significance that has emanated out of the House in 4 years? How many ridiculous fishing expeditions have they pursued for the sake of political gain. Responsible for withholding aid to Ukraine for months.\n\n4. Senate - confirmed the appointment of several cabinet members devoid of the requisite experience for their role, including an ex tv host to head up Defence who has issues for alcoholism, fidelity, was head of a veterans group charged with financial mismanagement, is accused of ra8e, and has white supremecy tattoos on his body.\n\nNot a country you can rely on.
|

I commend those who stand up to bullies. The majority of Americans do not believe that tariffs are currently needed or wanted, especially without first engaging in good faith negotiations.

When will people realize this is the way to force American business back into making things in America again. \nDoes any American complaining about this actually understand the trade inequity the USA did to itself with NAFTA and with our other current trade agreements? If you live in USA it truly isn’t an equil trade scenario, and was intended to boost our neighbors economy back in the 90’s….. in 2025 it’s just too detrimental and one sided in a bad way to continue allowing the same things/services to be done cheaper outside the USA based upon current import/export terms.\nThe old but current trade agreements benefit ALL at the USA’s expense. It’s not a difficult thing to grasp, it’s just not equil or fair, because Canada and Mexico (and south) benefit more at the expense to the USA… Americans just want it to be fair for us too. \nThe ERA of everyone sucking on the tit of America is over, because the American public is more than over it..

The single most significant threat to world peace, stability and prosperity is the American voter.\n\nIf I was to advise the Canadian government, I would cancel all current and future contracts with American defense Corporations and sell off all American-made military hardware from Canadian stocks and re-equip with European military hardware and South Korean Tanks. Canada could make excellent use of the Saab Gripen.

We are proud to have Prime Minister Trudeau lead the charge against the bombastic Trump trade war. It is unlikely that our MAGA Conservative leader, Pierre Poilieve, currently supported by Elon Muskrat and many of Trump's cronies, could ever deal with a trade war that would defend Canada.
|
| 2025-02-01 | 0 |
Trudeau has been on his farewell tour while he still has access to the treasury rather than dealing with this.\nBut he has shown a tendency to run away from problems rather than tackling them so this is par for the course.\n\nHe is a lame duck, who will be replaced by an equally weak (and unelected !) 'leader' on March 9th, then whether or not the government falls depends on yet another weak leader, this time of one of the opposition parties.\n\nAs Canada and Mexico diversify their trade networks to make up for this, the US will be pushed into isolation. Here in Canada, the world is hungry for our energy and willing to pay full value, not the $14/bbl discount the US currently enjoys.\n\nHope it was worth it.

I'm sure the Chinese, and the rest of the world actually would love to start trading more with Canada. I'm pretty sure there is nothing they can't supply that the US currently provides, and what would Trump hate more than a picture of Trudeau shaking hands with Xi.

Canadians fail to realize the Cost of Transporting Goods to Countries outside of North America. Currently Canadian Goods are Trucked or Railed into United States Daily whereas Cargo Ships would be Required and take weeks/months for Delivery to Asia or Europe.

What part about if you're illegal, you will be deported isn't clear?\nThey are starting with violent criminals, a lot of which currently happen to be gangs and cartel members from Mexico and South America.\nBut yes, illegals from any part of the world. Africa, India, China, if you are illegal, your turn will come.

Trump should fix the problems with the United States economy, such as inflation, tighter credit , homelessness, unemployment , military spending ,wars in West Asia and the repairs of bridges or roads without falsely scape goating undocumented \n immigrants . Undocumented immigrants or asylum seekers are paying billions of dollars each year in taxes. In spite of their undocumented or current status, these immigrants—and their family members—are adding value to the U.S. economy, not only as taxpayers, but as workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs as well. Furthermore, we should not falsely accuse aslylum seekers or undocumented immigrants for the illegal drug problem or increase of crime .This evil rhetoric or fairy tale narrative with the odor of mendacity is anti social , divisive and needs to stop .

Why do they think they are entitled to push their way through our borders? We have a finite amount of resources and the number of homeless Americans are growing. We can’t support the world’s population so the number of people we let into the country has to be controlled. I hope the current administration can clean up the chaos caused by the previous administration.

Try pulling this in any other country in the world and see what happens. Just try to switch citizenship without income anywhere in the world. You just can’t do it. It’s not the land that they want (back) it’s the free resources and money at the expense of the current inhabitants…which is theft in many respects. We all want the hope for a better life, free from persecution. Give them the land, it won’t make a difference without the free stuff. AND they’re Venezuelans here, not Mexicans…so really, whose land are they looking for actually?

This person has to take female hormones for the rest of his/her life!! If I had to take insulin for the rest of my life, I would therefore be disqualified from the military!! Also, if I was currently on antidepressants, I would not allowed to even join the military.

What makes the US such a Paradise is ALL those FREEBIES they are getting under the guise of SO MANY grants and fundings from the Federal Government put in places by the previous Administration. Most of these fundings are on hold by the current Trump Administration for reevaluation and reassessment. The thing that the Chicago Governor is talking about is that what US citizens are enjoying as benefits and services are the same thing that these illegal immigrants and migrants are getting. NOT FAIR to the American people. That’s why those findings needed to be put on hold. Our President Trump is PUTTING Americans first. Fixing United States of America first.

Just another #nazirepublican being a NAZI. If that trans navy commander is removed from service due to being trans, than EVERY SINGLE PATIENT that her navy doctor, whom released her indicating that she's FIT TO SERVE, SHOULD BE QUESTIONED ON ALL OF HIS OR HER DIAGNOSIS ON EVERY PATIENT THEY APPROVED FOR SERVICE! Along with other military doctors in all branches of the military that's cleared a transwoman or transman to serve! This is disgusting, and PURE HATE SPEECH. If transmen and transwomen are putting up their lives for this country and knowing their unit can depend and risk their lives with their transmen and transwomen, their fellow brothers and sisters in the field, this shouldn't be an issue. The one eye'd congressman just sounded SALTY and retaliatory because he couldn't serve because of his disability. This just reminded me of our fellow African Americans, Native Americans, and every other minority that's had to go through these kinds of ordeal, let it either be in the military, sports, and many other areas, because THEY WERE DIFFERENT in the past and currently. END this hate narrative, and end #nazirepublicans HATE. There are good and common sense republicans out there, just not these types.

I lived in Venezuela for a couple of years prior to their current situation. I love the Venezuelan people. Not a fan of their government though. I feel for them and have no idea how hard it is for them to start the legal immigration process from the Ven. side. Not sure what the answer is there.

also, standards are subjective. if the previous military’s standards were lower than the current military’s, your achievements are a moot point. true merit is returning to our military, and people like this are outraged that they’re below standards now

Recruitment is not down because transgender people/DEI is not allowed. It is down because the opposite is happening. DEI/Alphabet people are being shoed into places where they do not belong over more qualified other people. This process of putting less qualified people into positions endangers everyone else. Just like female lesbian firefighters in LA who are not strong enough to carry a person to safety think this is the fault of the victims they might encounter and not be able to save. This lowers morale and affects recruitment. If a transistor can meet the current requirements, they should be allowed to finish their time, but nobody else gets a free pass.
