There is a lot of landlords that over charge & just want money. Rent is a waste of money. People should be working to own there own space not others to make money off. We should all or most of people learn how to build their own place or work for their own place not for rent simple!

I believe that lack of health care in the U.S. stops many Canadians from even considering moving and working in the U.S. It may take longer to get medical care and treatment in Canada, but everyone is entitled to it. About 30 yrs ago we all paid into it, at our jobs. Not anymore. I believe employers may still be paying into it, but I think now it is just paid for with our taxes. So even people that do not work or are retired, each and every person is allowed it - if you live here.\nThere is also some Dental Care provided for some Children. Very recently,free Dental care is provided for people over 65. It is very new, so I do not know a lot about it yet. Also some drugs too are free for those over 65 too.\n\nPersonally I do not even want to visit the U.S because it seems like a very dangerous place.

I have international studies, no asylum should be claimed to people because your country is poor, but under extreme political threating circumstances to innocent people. Does anyone know exactly what this means? Does it apply only to future citizenships, or could it also result in people having their citizenship revoked? If so, how would it be determined who gets to stay or leave? Who would this law specifically affect? If it involves revoking citizenship, it could suggest intentions to target certain ethnicities, resembling a form of racial cleansing. Correct me if I’m wrong, but if anyone has more information, that would be really helpful. So far, I haven’t heard much about who might be impacted, but it seems like this law could put a lot of people at risk.

My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. This administration is putting many families in difficult situations. A lot of people are financially struggling to live, put a roof over their head and put food on the table. I dont mind the indians since i dont live in an area with too many indians. Well i do (markham) but what annoys me (not tryna sound racist but i just need to say it) theres a lot of chinese here and markham's demographics is like 27-19% european and indians are 19% here but here we have nearly 50% chinese out of our like what 368,000 citizens.. i dont mind them but everywhere i go i hear people speaking chinese, posters in chinese, even some teachers have been teaching more chinese than canadian history at my sisters school. My PE class is 18 chinese kids, 3 white kids, 3 indians and 3 black people. See what i mean.. They're smart and keep to themselves but in my experience they're pretty loud and can often be a bit rude and a lot of the times a bit racist too. Edit: before anyone asks yes i am white. I am not trying to be racist but I would just like someone to hear me out. I think people in Brampton are having similar issues.

Canada is a law abiding country and no one can fool the system. It offers study visas with a condition of returning back to home after completing the study. But many indian students are cheated by local agents with fake promises of Canadian PR, and now face deportation. It is not the fault of Canada. Already Canadian citizens including its own students suffer a lot from getting a job. Lack of jobs, house, health services increased and at the same time criminal, anti social activities like car theft, sexual abuse of female students, traffic violations, and links with anti social elements linked with international students. Brampton becomes the number one crime area in Toronto. Canadians are very well known people for their multicultural identity but they become irritated by the hostile behaviour of the international students. \nSo Canada must give priority to its own citizens and its law and order. No one can be allowed to take advantage of its liberal system.

I’m an American citizen who was born in the United States (Hawaii). Everyone has the right to support or not support President Trump’s plans for mass deportation. The interviewer asked this Mexican American woman her opinion and she’s entitled to her opinion. There are a lot of Hispanic people who agree with Trump. I don’t think she’s turning her back on her family by saying “it’s okay” if they get deported. I think she’s respecting and supporting the rules of Immigration laws to have legal documentation to live in the United States. Rather than disrespecting and ignoring Immigration laws the way her family did. I think in a way she’s saying “it’s okay” her family gets deported because they deserve to be penalized for breaking Immigration laws for entering and staying in America for 20 or 30 years illegally which is valid and understandable. It comes down to the phrase “You commit the crime you do the time” whether it’s family or not. I believe she has a leg to stand on because she followed Immigration laws, received her Green Card and is living in the United States legally. If a family member of mine committed a crime and were put in jail or deported back to their country I would say “it’s okay” too. You reap what you sow.

Indians are being beat in the streets now on a daily basis. Canadians are starting to fight back and send a message. Do not come to Canada. There is no affordable housing available for anyone.! There are no doctors for the majority of the population now. Hospitals are forced to close. Many people both native Canadians and new immigrants are forced to become homeless because of an overwhelming number of Indians flooding into Canada. There will be a lot of murders over the next few years in Canada. People are desperate and only trying to survive in their own native country.

honestly canada is a mess and i love all my immigrant friends but we just have way too many people in this country. No one can afford a house or groceries . A lot of people can’t even find jobs.

I immigrated to Canada in 1981 because I married a Canadian I should say French Canadian girl and it was just a better place for her to continue on with her background. We relocated to Ottawa which is bilingual and made it very easy for both of us to assimilate together. I moved back to the USA in 2006 to help my sick brother and move back again to Canada in 2016. I came back for many reasons. The political Edge in the united states, the guns out of control, the increased crime rate daily, in just too many people everywhere. Now I was living in the Tampa Bay area and a lot of the people come from out of state and out of country especially in the winter to spend their cold months in the sunshine. Some things I miss in the United States comes usually down to the cost of living. Unless you get sick. And I miss living by the Gulf of Mexico. Except during hurricane season. I prefer living in Canada only because it's a slower easier paced social environment. It has nowhere near the political stress that the United States has where it can almost be violent. Actually, where it has been violent. Revisit January 6th. Out of control guns with hot-headed men mostly can force you out as well and back to Canada. Canada's social structure and environment supersedes the United States tenfold. And of course as we get older, Healthcare is a priority. I'm thankful there's a place like Canada close to where I was born or I can spend the rest of my life enjoying it as opposed to looking over my shoulder constantly. I also find that Canadians have a huge appreciation of warm months. So many people are outside even when they are eating at restaurants. Because of the warmer months are so short, Canadians really take advantage of enjoying it and those months are never taken for granted. Winters in Ontario, like here in Ottawa, can be very cold once January and February come around. But once you make it into the middle of march, you can almost smell spring in the air and somewhere on the way. But there are those dreaded 8 weeks of oh my God ?

Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. Other problem is that a lot of people try to get a work in the service area, instead of help the growth of the primary and secondary sector, things that truly produce growth of a country. \n \nOther thing, the frame of the debate most not to be only in order of unskilled and skilled workers. ''Must to be in order of people who need for specific occupations in order of the demand work-force', EEUU have a lot of skilled workers and they don’t have a job. My father moved us to upstate NY in 1957 when I was 9 years old, me kicking and screaming all the way. I was devastated to be leaving Canada, and now at 77, I've decided this life-long yearning to return to my birthplace has to become reality. I've started the process, hoping I may gain some points because I'm a former citizen :) . I still have lots of family in several provinces; people I haven't seen since we were children, and some of us are great-grandparents now. The problem with here is also with Khalistan issue (of course not all Punjabis there want Khalistan and are absolutely chill people and people here in India, Punjabis, also don't want Khalistan, I have some close friends who are Sikh and are most Dildaar, Big-hearted, people I know). A lot of extremist groups which want, Khalistan ARE supported and protected by the Canadian government especially by Justin Trudeau and these people are committing nothing but violence and terrorism in the name of free speech. Indian government has issued many extradition requests, but the Trudeau government has done nothing about it and has protected these extremists. Over the years Indian government has warned Canadian government about this issue constantly and after years of housing these Canadian terrorists (because Canada calls them their citizens and protects them, what else can be the correct term for them and nothing like Khalistan exists) they've started to cause problems for the people already living there (like the terrorists Pakistan was housing are causing problems to them). They know they are not gonna get a Khalistan in India so where else are they gonna build it? Voila! Canada! This is the reason behind them not assimilating with the existing culture.Trudeau has even gone to lengths of calling Amit Shah (Home minister of India) and PM Modi (if you don't know what the heck are you doing here go study geopolitics a bit) unalivers of Hardeepsingh Nijjar WITHOUT any evidence (they just keep saying they have it but have shown nothing till now) and because of which Canada has worsened its relations with the Indian Government. They are even comparing India with the likes of North Korea in terms of threat. Indian Government in reply is giving Canada the same treatment it gives to Pakistan (a bit better of course, but the diplomacy has gone to sh it. Now, you may think that worsening relations with India is a good thing for Canada, yeah no, its not good because India has trade relations with Canada which may worsen due to this (yeah, great going for an economy which is already in shambles) and UK or US are not gonna do anything to India over Canada because India geopolitically has more significance than Canada (I'm not bragging, please don't misunderstand). Im mexican, and all this makes me sad, cause president Trump make American citizens to believe we are all criminals, bad people, that all of us wants to go to USA. And that is not true, a lot of us are happy living in our country, work here, and be with our loved ones here in Mexico.
