If BW could see just how Americanized we are we wouldn't keep traveling to these countries and ending up getting murdered there. Maybe Spaniards and Mexicans think that BW are flaunting American wealth so they want a piece of that success. Nothing really wrong with that but there's a process to get in the US. It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Man, I really do love everyone who is currently in office for our government at the moment. I just love letting any & everyone into our country, not to mention the cost of groceries & gas is amazing too! I absolutely love paying almost $7.00 just for a gallon of milk. Approx 10 years ago a friend told me of an organized plan with the U.S., UN, other countries to “take United States of American” and change it into a 3rd World Country. The USA as we have known it would no longer exist. I am an American citizen whose family came over in one of the first colonies and after losing our dream home in foreclosure we can not find housing because the prices have doubled and in some places here tripled here in GA. If we could afford to take them we could but we can’t and trying to riot and force your way into this country is WRONG.

The same people saying that they should start a revolution in their own country forget that the US government was the one that started the problems in those countries in the 20th century, with all the CIA-aided coups and far-right military dictatorships. One must also not forget the problems that the United Fruit Company brought to Central America. If anything, the US should embrace these people with open arms. There always will be housing. If the US stopped zoning every square inch of its land as solely single family housing, we could solve the housing crisis and accommodate a lot more people, Americans and immigrants included. You could not pay me enough to ever move to the US from Toronto. My parents had MULTIPLE heart-related medical procedures in Ottawa that would have BANKRUPTED them if they were Americans. Jobs for teenagers, entry level workers, part time jobseekers like for students, people needing extra income cause it’s so expensive in CA, NY, Austin, TX, Chicago or SF living off work entry-level service jobs. Technology has created a shortage or labor gap between unskilled jobs. Jobs that Americans need while pursuing training or technical degrees for the new skilled jobs. \n\nImmigrants do not need to fit the stereotypes of working in the service industry or as farm workers. American citizens can fill these labor positions quite easily. No, immigrants, work visa or not, do not work any harder, smarter, slower or faster than anyone else wanting to work. If someone is motivated to work an unskilled labor job then they will be just as effective as the next person. The HR for these companies definitely virtue signal and satisfy diversity quotas every time they hire someone due to their work status or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can be replaced and so the question is, who do you, as an employer, want to replace the job vacancy with? Gonna hire cause they are a good fit or because your helping some politicians cause? I don't understand why these people feel entitled to live wherever they want. I don't understand why they run from their troubles at home instead of confronting them. The South American illegal immigration problem is one of pure cowardace and stupidity. If your going to risk you life on a journey to run away from a broken country, when you could stay home and fight FOR YOUR HOME at about the same risk, that's cowardly.

Biggest difference USA has was more places to live every variety of climate you could ask for. It has way more opportunity because of the higher population. Way more jobs, way more national parks. They're extremely similar countries but I have to give it to the US is the variety of places to live. Canada may be bigger but most of it is a desolate wasteland. The only nice places to live in Canada are cities directly on the border. As far as how nice people are Canadians are just polite not always genuine. If an American is nice to you odds are they actually like you or they're someone you can't trust. But generally if a Canadian in nice to you they could hate your guts. An American seeing how Canadians act gives them a idolized view of who we are. If an American doesn't like you you'll know it and if they do like you you'll know it. This is the perspective of someone who grew up on a border town.

We will also all receive better care at the hospital. \n \nUS companies and foreign companies are building factories in India or in Mexico when the same workers are at our doors. Let's build them here in the USA and we English speakers will have to manage them unfortunately since that’s the language of the Country. If you speak Spanish and English, you are going to have many jobs. \nEverything important should be made in America with all these workers. We can all have our own factories and business and exploit cheap labor flocking to our Great Country. We must use this to our advantage while it lasts. \nCheap labor we can Build houses that are affordable. Fix all the infrastructure we have been crying about. \n \n5. If War we're ready! \nIf we ever have another World War first one to go are minorities and poor people so, not only does it provide us with a bigger army, but you might not be first to get drafted. I have so much to say. I'm afraid of sounding racist. I dont like it. Dealing with this right now! There has been an influx in my town. Now there isnt housing left when we were fine before. My children are being slighted when they could be celebrating their 1st apartment. My interaction has been poor with a few of these people. Impossible to communicate. Very awkward having an 8 yo translate. Many want to move into nice neighborhoods but never follow the city code enforcement or rules. Then hide behind don't speak English! My childhood friend moved from California to outside of Vancouver right before entry into high school. He has a very high iQ. He was also well stable at home and was placed the highest you could be at the time in language and maths. \nIn high school in Canada, this AP American student, had to go to middle school for math. The Canadian school system didn’t offer algebra 2 above middle school. \n30 years. Do Both countries walk hand in hand thro troubles?! It seems like Canada is the younger brother that does better in grades but keeps quiet about it.

I am an American. I am looking to relocate to Canada because of the bad experiences I have had as a California Licensed Structural Engineer with 25+ years of experience. This US license is really difficult to obtain because the exam has a 25% pass rate. In California, it is much tougher because of the earthquakes the state experiences.\n\nInstead of being treated with respect for having this Structural Engineer License, I have been treated badly by structural engineering firms in the US. In the US, you can be fired for no reason at all. They use Performance Improvement Plans to lay me off because I am much smarter than the people I work with. Licensed Structural Engineers do not have job security - so expect to work only a few months.\n\nIn the US, you will have a job for 4 months because your boss has decided to hire someone cheaper and give himself a raise. This happened to me at the City and County of Denver.\n\nLicensed Structural Engineers do not have job security at all because employers do not care about their employees. With workplaces like that, the US is not the place to be. American is not the greatest nation when you have morons like Harry Dunn and Lloyd Christmas from the movie Dumb and Dumber running things! Americans are downright stupid! That is why I am considering relocating to Canada.\n\nI started taking structural engineering courses at the University of British Columbia so I could better myself and get some Canadian experience. In the US, this cannot happen because Americans do not believe in bettering your professional career opportunities. In American companies, you can get fired for getting more education. It is really interesting doing these courses because I am learned alot of different engineering skills that they do not teach in the US. Plus I will be getting an award from Canada.

I've been to Canada a couple of times to Hamilton (outside of Toronto) because my mom's childhood friend from Manchester, UK lives there and I went to the states for a few weeks to Florida, DC and NYC on a massive trip.\n\nWhat struck me is how fit Canadian women are compared to US women. Also, how genuinely friendly and humble Canadians were compared to the brash know it all attitude of Americans. I was really looking forward to America cause I was raised on its culture here in the UK. I know I've not given it a proper chance but I'm not that tempted to go back.\nI travelled a lot with my family growing up but only in the US have we ever felt like we could be in danger. Not great.\nAnd that racial segregation is pants. It's disgusting, really.

You didn't bring up the paper money American money gets wet and is ruined. Other countries money is all in plastic. The funny thing is people in Melbourne are like Americans They live and breathe in their own suburbs and don't know how to get anywhere else. The CBD could be an hour away and they would have never been anywhere else but their suburb in their whole life.

I have traveled the world, Europe, Africa, all over the Americas, and the Pacific, however, I have never been to Canada! At 53 years old and a black American man.., Canada sounds SOOOOO APPEALING!!!!
