I'm watching Trudeau deliver a fiery speech, addressing Trump directly. He called out policies and actions that have strained Canada-U.S. relations, emphasizing the consequences for both countries and the urgent need for respect and cooperation moving forward. We don’t want this, but here we are, facing the reality.

I lived in Canada for nine years. Canadians are not polite at all. This is a stereotype from TV shows. Thanks to God, I left this country.

Ask your self why we give money away to foreign countries while others give money as a loan. The world needs the USA. Canada can’t protect Ukraine, Germany,can’t do it. So who will? If our allies think they can do it better then bring our troops home. Watch what happens to their economies. Let their sons and daughters be the first to go in. Let us play a support role. We used to be the police of the world now they want us to be the bank and the police of the world enough is enough.And I’m a veteran as well.

I can confidently say as a Canadian, what Trump has done and continues to do is driving the biggest wedge between Canada and the USA. The jokes of Canada becoming a 51st state is outrageous and i speak for many fellow Canadians when saying - WE WILL DIE AS CANADIANS before bending the knee to America. This is exactly what Russia wants and the only true winner from this will be the countries praying on Canada and the US's downfall.

My husband is a retired Airborne Ranger who worked cooperatively with military personnel from the UK, Canada, Germany, France, and other democratic countries around the world. I voted for Trump, but it's hard not to agree with Trudeau on this even though I find this guy to be extremely unpleasant. There's no reason to start trade wars all over the world and in particular with our neighbors. It's one thing to threaten tariffs and a very different thing to actually apply them. If you do it has to be accompanied by a lot of diplomacy so that the other country is not overreacting, but Trump has been super combative prompting our neighbors to respond in kind to save face. While past deals may not have been great for US, this is not the way to handle our differences. Billionaires like Trump and his friends will be fine, but the majority of ordinary folks in the US and Canada will suffer. Very dumb, indeed.
