As a American, I have become entirely jaded and have nothing but frustration, anger and anxiety towards actions of the supposed leader of this nation. Hearing this leader speak is so refreshing.

Perhaps if you are going to broadcast our Prime Minister's speech, one that Canadians need to and want to hear, you might have the courtesy and respect to LET HIM SPEAK rather than bring in colleagues to talk. YOU may not speak or understand French, but we are a BILINGUAL country, so some of us DO. CNN is obviously not where I'm going to get news. Shame.

This is what an intelligent and well spoken man sounds like. Shame that so many south of the border won't ever hear it or even believe it. They'd rather follow an inarticulate, rude and crude man who only wants what's best for him and his wealthy buddies.

The French part is slightly different from the English part. I think it is also important to understand the Canadian messages crystal clear by hearing the full speech.

I am a French Canadian. I did not hear it From Trudeau in English but I heard it in French, the real reason of the economic war is annexation. Fentanyl, immigration was just a Casus Belli. Here in the UK, we see and hear very little from Trudeau, but we’ve seen and heard quite a bit from him since last Friday’s White House debacle… Been VERY impressed with him, what he has said and how he has said it… Especially using Trump’s own “big things’ language…

I grew up hearing lots of hate bout USA cuz the US doesn't exactly have a good rep in foreign policies - always bullying other nations, starting wars for oil etc. but I've always preferred USA not just for the world order it brings, it allows different voices, criticism & scolding towards its leaders compared to China, Russia & North Korea. \n\nin the US, you can talk bad bout politicians in power, or probably make movies bout these kind of things like US invading other countries for oil, or testing out some cruel AI military robots on humans (movie name: Monsters of Man), & you won't be persecuted. but after looking at a bunch of executive orders Trump has signed, the way he (& JD Vance) treated Zelenski & Canada, I don't know if I still feel the same bout USA anymore.\n\nif USA doesn't wanna continue spending on Ukraine, perhaps USA shouldn't have sweet talked Ukraine into denuclearization thru the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. that's what you get for mendling with other countries' affairs. by stopping US aid & wanting a new mineral deal, Trump's refusing to follow the Memorandum (I added this sentence thru edit as I can't reply to the comment below).\n\nunderstandably, US & UK don't need to deploy troops in Ukraine as the security assurance in the memorandum wasn't clearly defined, but it also didn't mention that Ukraine should pay the US back financially, nor any mineral concessions. \n\nTrump always wanting a purely 1 sided deal will only isolate USA from more allies.

When I was growing up in Canada, hearing of someone being a “Proud American” was something I admired. Today it’s a punch line to a joke about the American education system. They have nothing left to be proud of, and I’m so thankful to be from this country instead. Trump administration or not, the American people can not be trusted to vote in their own self interest, let alone the interests of the allies that stood with them for the last century and who have lost lives sending men and women over seas to answer the American call for friendship, justice, and loyalty. America wants to stand alone so let them. The global order is shifting, and Canada needs to plan accordingly. Don’t listen to what people say, watch what they do, and Americans have done enough.
