American here, trust me, we don't want this either. This administration has done nothing but harm to us. I'll always consider you a friend, Canada.

I'm a Canadian, we have a massive piece of land and small population.\nWe should be friends with everyone. Never pick sides.\nTo look into history, U.S never be friends with anyone. They are only friends with money!\nI don't go against the Americans, but we also have to take care of our own economy.\n\nTrump just find an excuse to blame Canada so he can tariff the Canadian. We never do things to harm our neighbours. \nI spent thousands of dollars every year in Vegas and have multiple times shares there, but they chose to put a rope on us!\n\nI don't go against Russia and China either because we all have one common goal, that is a better life for all and there's nothing wrong with it!\n\nDon't worry too much about Trump, he is old and likes to show the world that he is powerful before he is gone! \nCanadian will ride through good and bad times. We all have to work together because we are hard working Canadians!

Why didn't you government do this way before the threat become reality. Why were so many of resources given away to US? friends don't expect loss for either party

This is exactly what Trump wants to destroy America!!!! to bring on techtocracy or maybe just to make his allies in Russia happy.. It's either that or he is the dumbest president in American history... But here we are.. there was voter suppression at the very least. It's hard to know what to believe about all that. But I do know many people regardless voted for him. 30% did not vote. Which I do understand. As there is a genocide happening.. but at this point, I have to believe that even amongst the majority of his supporters he is not supported by the majority, major majority of the United States. The republican Congress has shown their true colors of being anti-constitutional . But they are redeemable. Do the right thing if you are in government if you have any power at all, stand up. And for the rest of us, Americans including the ones that voted for Trump let your voices be heard. Before we become something similar to Russia. And I go to prison for this comment.

WE didn't do this. WE fought against it. We tried to explain & warn people about what is happening & what will happen, but you didn't EFFING LISTEN. WE are ANGRY. WE will NOT help any of you who caused this & this includes every MSM who is too afraid to speak truth to power. Start doing that NOW. Start with THIS: It's called The Gulf of Mexico, NOT the Gulf of America. Eff every Trump supporters & GOP politician--at EVERY level of government. Trump can TRY to hide what he's doing to the economy in his stupid reports. Do you honestly believe the average American pays attention to those? No, most are too busy worrying over how to pay their bills & all they'll see is that their situation is getting worse. They can't find a job. They can't afford gas. They can't afford groceries. You can't cover any of that up. WE stand with Canada, Ukraine, the EU, & every other ally nation. Not Russia. Putin can go straight to hell & the sooner the better.

An american living in Germany. The Canadians were (and are) my neighbors. I grew up in Maine, and no one one should piss off Canadians, it can only go bad. But EXACTLY that is what trump wants, that everything goes bad. It is not only going bad, everything is going to shit, my fellow americans are too stupid to notice or care. These tariffs had initially been deferred to April. The reason Trump decided to put them in so abruptly is in retaliation to Trudeau doubling down on support fir Ukraine. This is so annoying. Most Canadians don't want our tax dollars going to Ukraine either.

If they were indeed as impenetrable as he asserts, we would not be witnessing a continuous influx of illegal firearms—responsible for a staggering 99.9% of gun-related crimes here in Canada—crossing over from our southern neighbor. Yet, these illicit weapons are making their way into our communities, alongside a troubling wave of unauthorized entries into our country.
