Politicians are truly ignorant and power hungry. Sure, force the givernment and the security agencies to disclose their methods of gathering intel, operations and sources so the terrorists and criminals know what they are doing wrong. They stopped an attack and should debreif certain members os parliament but their methods need to stay covert to continue to be effective.

I was born and raised in New York City. But since it became sanctuary city, I don't call it home no more. And I don't have any plans if ever going back there to live. New York City is Gotham city now. Taken over by people who enter our country illegal. It's so sad they are getting free money, rent Medicaid ,food stamps, Have their babies once born they are American citizens I guess they get to stay. It's not fair because you can't go in their country and have a baby. And it becomes a citizen, they have requirements and restrictions. They all going to continue to come and Leach off. There are reports that 'students' are recruited in certain South Asian countries, put into debt to the tune of $180,000 with the promise of being able to get residency and eventually citizenship. They are then put to work, in local businesses to work off this debt. There is a reason every single small business in my town is owned by a certain Southern Asian position group..\n Every single one, every gas station (even the one on the native reserve) every single fast food restaurant and they only seem to employ people of a certain population group... in my day that was called racism, but today it is just motivated by greed and exploiting their own people, which they have a long history of in their own country?????????

Canada has an open door immigration policy to take in people from certain countries where terorrist attacks are prevalent , which is a major security concern for the US. I just traveled to Toronto last month and saw the demographic composition with my own eyes.

Deportation is a traumatic experience for anyone, imagine u left Ur home country, sold every assets. You settle in a new country learning the culture & laws. Getting acquainted with the climate. Taking into consideration that over time while abroad (be it Canada) things may have changed from the way u left in your home country. Not so acurate information. During the college time students can work only 20h/week. Unless it has changed. \n\nAlso, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get permanent residency before graduation because you need Canadian experience (full time) for at least 1 year in specialized areas. \n\nOnly if you successfully complete your program you get the full time work visa per 3y. In this time it’s going to be possible TO APPLY for permanent residence. \n\nBut not only that. Canadian experience give you extra points in the immigration program, but also a Bachelor’s degree, or a master degree, work experience in your back country, English level, and age. \n\nI don’t know for certain countries if the rules are different, but as long as I know, it’s the same for everybody. \n\nWhen I came as an international student, I had to prove the college was paid, also show I had enough money to support myself for 1y without work. Also, the program at college that costs $4000/semester for a Canadian student, it costs $8-10.000 for an international student. \n\nMy work visa (during college) allowed me 20h per week working only. \n\nTo get my study visa approved I had to show intermediate English, money, work experience, Bachelor’s degree (I have also a master’s), and explain why I wanted to study in Canada and why that program was related to my current career. \n\nTalking about jobs; I have worked as a housekeeper in a hospital (on weekends). The problem is simple. If its an issue of cost of living, while its true that it is very high, its very high across the industrialized world. That is because the causes influencing cost of living are not related to inside Canada but are being influenced by foreign actors which Canada has no control over. The Ukraine-Russia War for example is causing increases to food costs which are not easily overcome. The situation in the Middle East between Hamas and Israel threatens to spiral into a regional war and that threatens the oil supply and the present price for oil and gas. The Houthi have been making it hard to traverse the Red Sea which is forcing shipping to travel around Africa rather than directly through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea meaning those additional fuel costs get transferred over to the consumer. As for housing, while efforts to cool housing markets have been made, Canada's housing market is still relatively hot meaning the prices remain high in big cities. Its like a perfect storm. Increased costs on mortgages are an attempt to push down inflation but in the short term you are going to feel that as well. Also we are living in a transition period as the world sinks back to the older model of trade before before Bretton Woods in 1947 which is leading to a decoupling of product lines that at one time coming from Asia were cheap but are not more expensive because they are being made back in the home countries. Transitions do come with a price. Finally, add taxes which help to deal with health care, social programs and government services like embassies, foreign missions and the army well yeah its a perfect storm.\n\nI hope you have luck where you end up but do not for a minute assume that the grass is greener on the other side. Even Japan which attempts to keep certain costs low, has been forced to increase its national consumption taxes to offset overall costs. It isn't going to get cheaper but more expensive as we move back to the old trade model. However, as the world weans itself off of the World Trade Organization and the IMF, the world also re-opens the potential to a Great Depression because that was the reason Bretton Woods appeared in the first place. The world isn't going to get better but far worse.

This is very sad. Perhaps the citizens of India should protest against their governments lack of sufficient support for higher education in their country. Perhaps the citizens of India should start local schools instead of spending their money to send their children thousands of miles away, spending their money to house their children in very expensive countries. Certainly there must be an Indian citizen who is educated and is willing to teach what he/she has learned to other Indians!

they always say they are not racist, then they state that any that come need to have 'canadian values,' which is usually ambiguous, and i think probably racist code for white. as a white person who grew up in brampton, i know first hand how i was treated as the son of european immigrants, to my often scapegoated friends and peers from other asian and Caribbean back grounds. but luckily my life was richer for having grown up in a multicultural environment, where one could be many things, and their was a certain sense of cultural fluidity.

The temporary foreign worker programs in all countries are under attack as slavery by the United Nations. What government or individual wants to be a slave or participate in modern slavery. I think in the last 10 years Europe and North America has made a special effort to import dregs of society from every country on the pretext that they are 'refugees', 'students' and that West needs to shore up it's falling birth rate. Like I have said before, it depends on where they come from. Most people from different countries can adapt to western kind of life. For example, people from India and the Ukraine. They are used to a western kind of life. I know the weather can be a challenge in the winter, but we all just tolerate it and can't wait for the spring and summer. Inform German people that every language has levels, and that it takes certain time to reach a certain level. They (the Germans) just lack education and information, since they themselves are not good language learners. As for discrimination and xenophobia, all present in Germany, I am not sure what to recommend. My advice used to be travel more, but Germans do travel and are still racist. Perhaps more education in this specific area/field would help? What I have learned is that the process of getting rid of nacism (with a specific name/term for it) after the WWII, has not been thorough. I have learned that after visiting museums in Germany.

I am reading the comments and it seems like most people commenting didn’t actually take the time to listen to the interview. He is calling out the government out for political and reactionary changes based on sliding poll numbers as opposed to a coherent immigration policy. He specifically says that this government allowed certain sectors to get addicted to temporary foreign workers. These changes are political as this government is more concerned with political survival than the needs of Canada and Canadians.

I'm thinking that the next government which I hope will be led by Pierre Poilièvre, will seriously opt for a solution like opening a Canadian school in India and in other countries so that people don't have to come here to study in a Canadian school/college/university. That way, they could study in their country without having to move and face difficulty in living abroad which for them should be only allowed for a certain number of years and then that they have to return to their country of origin. Once back in their country of origin should they want to immigrate here, well there is an official process for immigration that needs to be done. No skipping steps and that has to be done from outside of Canada.

Our population should be 500-600 million only then we could progress but there are certain state which doesn't know family planning. It is high time for strict population control laws. With low population everyone will enjoy more resources and good life.

It seems like Germany still has a lingering anti-immigrant sentiment from the 1930s, even though as a country they certainly need skilled workers. Germany is not the only country though, I've experienced racism in Poland for example, and I'm sure other East European countries are similar.

Germany sees itself as extremely tolerant and remarkably generous to non-whites, but the general sentiment clearly goes against immigration from non-European cultures. What skilled workers and highly qualified professionals experience in Germany today, is already the best they can ever expect. Much is going to change in the coming years, but certainly not in favor of immigrants who don't look white.
