Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. It will look like his tax breaks aren't hurting as much as they are and price increases will be the fault of the other countries.\n\nTrump is a conniving grifter with no knowledge of how to run a country's economy or international trade. He is gaslighting the American public to cover his own shortcomings.\n\nAlso, if fentanyl is entering the US, why is it the fault of the other countries? It is the job of the US to stop anything on its side of the border. Canada and Mexico do what they can to catch the drugs while inside their respective countries. The tons of cocaine and guns that enter Canada and Mexico from the US are caught by their border services; they don't blame the US for the products getting past their own border agents, and the US takes no responsibility for it making it across the border. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.

And it wouldn't occur to anybody in the US to ask themselves WHY they stimulate this enormous Fentanyl trafficking and consumption? I mean let's get this straight - if they wouldn't consume Fentanyl like sweets there would not be a problem. So the problem is the US addiction rate and btw it's not the job of the rest of the world to f*cking to watch over US citizens like they are kids. Grow the fck up and deal with your problems instead of blaming others.

We are reasonable, than why are we being absolutely destroyed by our politicians for the last 10 years? Thats not reasonable.\n\nThe reason they so outspoken now, is because they know it will make it even worse than what they did, and will continue to do..\n\nIf this tarrif thing never happened would be business as usual, and the Canadian Politicians would just keep making Canada even more expensive, now they have someone to blame for the absolute horrible position they put Canada long before this issue.

He can't blame Covid for this term...?
2025-03-04 0
Welcome to the worst recession the US ever lived. Do not complain. You voted for it. And blamed the immigrants.

As a UK citizen living in Canada, I’ve seen how much the U.S. has damaged its relationship with Canada, and I don’t think things will ever be the same. I don’t even blame Trump—I blame the American people for electing a corrupt criminal.\n\nThe reality is, Americans are going to feel the consequences far more than Canadians. You’re the only NATO country without universal healthcare, your education system ranks among the worst in the developed world, worker protections are almost nonexistent, social security is severely lacking, and now, thanks to your election choice, you’ll be paying at least 25% more for groceries under a leader who’s steering the country toward authoritarianism.\n\nIt’s embarrassing. The world no longer revolves around America, and people are tired of its self-centered, individualistic mindset. It’s time to wake up.
2025-03-04 0
Why this nato leader quack just try and blame Russia and china for American tariffs on Canada this news channel is talking about tariffs and for some reason the topic of fearmongering Russia and china \nMr nato leader quack everyone who is well informed on what Putin and Russia want you clearly don’t so educate yourself

To the people all over the world who supports ??, ???! To our ?? friends, we do not blame you, we blame your government. We support you as you are supporting us, but it’s time to push back before it’s too late. Together let’s stop this madness!!!
2025-03-04 0
Justin Trudeau is a fool who is playing a game that he cannot possibly win and will exponentially damage Canadian citizens while he blames the US government for his response which is exactly the same as the person he’s blaming
2025-03-04 0
Trump you sleazy scum receptacle, now inflation is going to make things less affordable and then your going to blame it on Biden and on us for not working hard enough. Is this what you meant when you promised lowering prices? You better have a good apology to the American people
2025-03-04 0
All those comments praising justin’s speaking…..u do realize this is a former drama teacher doing a bad drama and reading a script someone else wrote? This guy systematically drowned the economy and pushed left wing ideology at the cost of everything. Trump is overreacting but Justin’s acting to get a image makeover here. Canadians dont like tariffs imposed but understand that Justin’s idiocracy is also to blame.
2025-03-04 0
Believe me. We know who is to blame. ? ?

trumps plans with putin obviously meet his imperial ambitions more than his democratic allies. trump aided russia by holding back the vote on Ukrainian military aid for months on end costing countless innocent lives and attempting to suck dry Ukraines most powerful weapon their morale!\nNow he is in power just as 3 years of sanctions on russia finally are showing results he turns off Ukraines military aid while repeating kremlin talking points.\nThe US who removed Ukraines nuclear deterrent with the Budapest Memorandum promising to protect its borders which they failed to honour even have trump blaming Ukraine for starting the war.

I live in Nashville, TN USA. I am so sorry Canada is suffering due to Trump. I do not support this move on Trump's part. I never voted for him. I have known for many years he is a dangerous narcissist. Canada is our friend. You have come to our aide in times of trouble. Our forest fires, 911 when the planes hit our twin towers. Trump wants a 4.5 Trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthy. He sees tariffs as a way to make up some of that money alone with huge budget cuts to many of our programs. Trump is an unreasonable person who only thinks about himself. I hope he will eventually be impeached. I do not blame Canada. I blame Donald Trump and the the Republican Congress. This is a coupe going down in our country and it is sad to watch. Take good care.
2025-03-04 0
Trump is more interested in submitting to the Russians… oh wait, no-according to him, it’s the Ukrainians who should surrender. Classic victim-blaming. Sounds like pure Trump logic.
2025-03-04 0
*DONALD TRUMP IS A STUPID STUPID MAN! HE SIMPLY DOES NOT HAVE THE BRAINS TO BE A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! AND OUR ENEMIES KNOW THIS!*\n*ALL OF OUR ADVERSARIES KNOW THAT DONALD TRUMP IS A FOOL! AND THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF DONALD TRUMP'S EGO, STUPIDITY, AND GULLIBILITY!*\n*The MAGA-Republican Party is to blame for all of this! They supported Donald Trump every step of the way, and they are helping Donald Trump do all of these evil, stupid things!*\n*WE WILL ALL HAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO BLAME FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA! IT'S NOT JUST DONALD TRUMP'S FAULT! IT IS THE FAULT OF ALL REPUBLICANS!*
2025-03-04 0
When Trumps tariffs fail, the Maggas will simply shift the blame to the Democrats, and Fox news will back them up, even if they have to lie, and tell half truths.
2025-03-04 0
I, an American, stands with Canada. The blame is on Trump. We all know that
2025-03-04 0
Anti-Americanism??? These reporters don’t seem to understand this is a result of trump’s actions and his alone. Any pain felt on both sides of the border are his fault and only his. trump did this. Your reporting should reflect this reality and blame needs to be given where it is due - at trump’s feet.
2025-03-04 0
Thank you Justin for this lesson in leadership from a fellow Canadian. I don't blame you for stepping down, who would want 4 more years working in these conditions, crazy making at best.
2025-03-04 0
Our Prime Minister is standing up to Trump. Why didn't CNN during the election and push back on all the republican lies? You shoulder some of the blame for this nonsense.
2025-03-04 0
I am a retired Dairy farmer who grew up in New York State and now lives in Florida. This is who I am. I don't know who's to blame the most. Benedict Trump is a traitorous President or all the voters who voted for him. Truly, what was the attraction? Now look at this mess. I can and do apologize to Canada, but I am just one person. P.S. I didn't vote for that Ass H_le.

You follow the money trail of China and Canadian dealings ,an investigative journalist did and found precursor supplies to make fentanyl heavily coming into Canada from China, being assembled in Canada, then shipped to mexico drug cartels from Canada, then entering US across mexican US border....so how is Canada not to blame when RCMP know of drug labs in Canada and turn blind eye as do the politicians, and meanwhile China launders the drug money through real estate and casinos. No one wants to address the elephant in the room. Life is easier while Blind, till it isn't!
2025-03-04 0
I'm an American and let me make this perfectly clear what I heard. Coming out of Justin Trudeau's mouth today was the gospel truth. Our government is off the rails and who's to blame the GOP and the magas. Canada this American supports you 150%
2025-03-04 0
If orange man is bad blame democrats...you ran terrible candidates. You also gave away money like candy and allowed every illegal here
2025-03-04 0
Anti-Semitic Jew hater Trudeau has his work cut out for him. Trudeau will likely find some way to blame the Jews for the tariff problems.
2025-03-04 0
Hey hey hey. The United States didn't launch a trade war. Donald Effing Trump and his Republican lickspittles launched a trade war. Most of us in the U.S. are sick to our stomachs about this attack on our wonderful neighbors to the North. Let's keep the blame squarely where it belongs. Trump, Vance, Rubio, and the list goes on from there.
2025-03-04 0
Protect your own borders. Since when is it Canada’s responsibility to protect America’s borders lol. Blame the past administration for leaving your borders on demand for four years. Canada isn’t your scapegoat.
2025-03-04 0
This is not coming from America. It is coming from Russia. They either fooled the majority, or used AI to get this man in power to ruin us. I grew up on the border of Canada. I love Canada. don't blame all of us for what this Russian plant in the White House is doing.
2025-03-04 0
Dont blame us for what this tyrant does please , I like canadians =(
2025-03-04 0
Trump is going to blame Biden Administration
2025-03-04 0
Please do not blame America as a whole for this... Sadly its just a group of uneducated people that have no freaking idea what they are doing that are doing this . ...Still in shock they even came to power. Now we all see the results of decades of Russian propaganda. Good job Russia... The only thing yall ever did right is propaganda :(
2025-03-04 0
trump put the tariffs on canada because canada did not want to become the 51st state, and i don't blame canada
2025-03-04 0
Add Paula Newton to the list of people that I'll quit watching CNN when they pop up, along side Scotty boy. I don't abide people who blame the victim when they are getting hit by the bully.
2025-03-04 0
Remember People Trudeau is to BLAME AND RUNNING CANADA INTO THE GROUND HE HAS RESIGNED, HE LET TERRORISTS AND CRIMINALS INTO CANADA LETTING THEM KILL CANADIAN BORN PEOPLE
2025-03-04 0
Canada, I think most Americans will support you we do not support any tariffs. Minnesota has always stood with Canada. The toxic orange thing is to blame for this mess.
2025-03-04 0
shut up Mr Trudeau we don't want to hear youyou steal our money everyday and you blame United States you should be quiet you liar hypocrite
2025-03-04 0
So the Canadians are getting blamed for the fentanyl coming across the southern border….. trump has gone looney
2025-03-04 0
Maybe the US should try to figure out why so many of its citizens are using fentanyl and other hard drugs. They're blaming other countries instead of addressing the actual issue of addiction and the market for those drugs. Maybe stop buying the stuff and there wouldn't be a market for it...
2025-03-04 0
How dare our president and his cronies blame Canada for the US drug addicts demand for drugs from our southern borders. All the drug cartels in Mexico. Central America and South America would not be smuggling their drugs to the United States of America if there isn't a demand for it. Suddenly, it's Canadians fault?!
2025-03-04 0
Don't blame me....I didn't vote for cheetolini
2025-03-04 0
do you, Canadians!! I don’t blame you for looking out for Canada
2025-03-04 0
I respect you so much for this, Mr. Trudeau and I do not blame you. I wish the people could do something, but the people have spoken and no one listens. We are just trapped here. I feel powerless to do anything. I can’t afford to fight in oligarch I have to survive this country and work my ass off just to live paycheck to paycheck. I haven’t got time for this shit. I guess I’m gonna have to quit my job and become a full-time political activist! That’s not realistic I have children. I have an autistic grandchild who is also blind that I’m raising I ain’t got time for this shit but you gotta do what you gotta do. It’s time for a revolution.

As a resident of South Park, I say Blame Canada.
2025-03-04 0
Blaming the USA for what, exactly? It’s unfortunate that Canadian consumers are affected by trade restrictions, such as when Canada bans U.S. wines and liquors. Why ban it in the first place? Interestingly, even within Canada, Eastern provinces don’t have access to wines from British Columbia, what a shame. Shouldn’t we be working towards more open trade within our own country as well?
2025-03-04 0
good job Justin thank you for showing the fools across the border how government should work, the orange man just likes to blame others for his mistakes he should look in his backyard cleaning up his problems but instead he has to make everything he is doing seem good its ALL about him they should have a kindergarten kid stand in for him they would do a better job of running their country
2025-03-04 0
Blame Canada, blame Canada
2025-03-04 0
Ohh CNN shows Trudeau that have the courage to contradict Trump while CNN anchors themselves are too spinless to give ONE opinion about the blatant lies he tells and even insinuate Zelensky should be to blame.\nKudos to Trudeau, shame on CNN.
2025-03-04 0
I'm American and I stand with Canada and Ukraine! Do what you have to do to stand up to the bully. I don't blame you all at all!

Canada has long been the 51st state of the US, as they follow the US so closely politically, ecumenically, culturally, foreign policy wise, etc. Canada has been following and listening to the US fed government even closer than some of the US states, e.g. California (leftists) & Texas (rightists). This is especially true under Trudeau who has been willingly to be part of, and to be subordinate to the US governments. He has nobody but himself to blame for the current situation.
