As an American I am once again infuriated! I wish we could get rid of this dictatorship in our country! He fires at random and without justification. Now he wants us to go through a Great Depression. It’s not Canada’s fault! I hope most Canadians know that most Americans love our neighbors and are mortified by the great pumpkin and his antics. I’m scared of being taken over by Russia

Most Canadians I know and have heard from will NOT go to or buy any thing American.

I am a French Canadian. I did not hear it From Trudeau in English but I heard it in French, the real reason of the economic war is annexation. Fentanyl, immigration was just a Casus Belli. Trump want to put us on our knees and beg to join the US. We will have federal elections soon and we know that Trump will try to influence the outcome of the elections like Chine, Russia or India. We know has Canadian that USA is not a friend anymore. Trump is the dumbest of American President of the history of USA. Americans citizens get rid of Trump and Vance before it is too late.

Preach Trudeau! The American government is desperately trying to hurt American families & lie about who is truly at fault. Many of us know the truth & who is truly at fault but unfortunately less than half of all voters believed his lies & manipulation & voted for this nightmare. ?

Please know, that just because most voters voted him in, that does NOT mean most Americans support him. Just those who got out to vote that day. We don’t want this. I support Canada, Ukraine and the rest of the European nations ??

Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,\nI am an American living in America. You are doing the right thing. You are taking a stand against an ignorant, hateful, facist. Most Americans know that Trump does not care what happens to us, to our country, or to our Constitution.

As a 66 year old Canadian, never in my wildest dreams could I ever imagine the USA as an enemy to Canada. I know it's not all Americans and my heart aches for them, but the relationship is permanently damaged beyond repair. Stay strong Canada....no more American products or spending our tourist dollars there.

I'm an American, and I support Canada in doing what they have to do to push back on trump/Republican insanity. I know as a senior on social security that I will be hurt by the push back. I will eat less and drive less, but I don't care -- Canada is doing the right thing.

This will cause much damage to the economy and the American people, but it will help the billionaires enrich themselves even more. They always know how to use a good economic crisis to their advantage.

I grew up hearing lots of hate bout USA cuz the US doesn't exactly have a good rep in foreign policies - always bullying other nations, starting wars for oil etc. but I've always preferred USA not just for the world order it brings, it allows different voices, criticism & scolding towards its leaders compared to China, Russia & North Korea. \n\nin the US, you can talk bad bout politicians in power, or probably make movies bout these kind of things like US invading other countries for oil, or testing out some cruel AI military robots on humans (movie name: Monsters of Man), & you won't be persecuted. but after looking at a bunch of executive orders Trump has signed, the way he (& JD Vance) treated Zelenski & Canada, I don't know if I still feel the same bout USA anymore.\n\nif USA doesn't wanna continue spending on Ukraine, perhaps USA shouldn't have sweet talked Ukraine into denuclearization thru the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. that's what you get for mendling with other countries' affairs. by stopping US aid & wanting a new mineral deal, Trump's refusing to follow the Memorandum (I added this sentence thru edit as I can't reply to the comment below).\n\nunderstandably, US & UK don't need to deploy troops in Ukraine as the security assurance in the memorandum wasn't clearly defined, but it also didn't mention that Ukraine should pay the US back financially, nor any mineral concessions. \n\nTrump always wanting a purely 1 sided deal will only isolate USA from more allies.

As an American, I stand with Canada, Mexico, and Ukraine. Shut off oil delivery and natural gas. I know you do not want to do this, you have no choice. I live in Michigan, and working with Canada has always been a give. The auto industry is important. I pray for the end of this quickly.

Who owns the majority of the stock market? Who cares. More than half of us don't own stocks. As for Canada, Trump is doing what he thinks is best for Americans not Canada. Not any talk here on why Trump did this and no one here seems to want to know. Let the talking heads that own tons of stocks through Black Rock tell you all you need to stay in the dark.

As an American for the whole of my 70 years, I applaud the actions of PM Trudeau. Please know that the majority of Americans value our friendships in this global community, and are ashamed of the actions taken by Donald Trump. I can only hope and pray that this insanity ends soon.

What would be interesting to know is how trade between Canada and Europe explodes, Europe would like all the oil and gas and rare earthminerals Canada has, so would China, if for nothing other than to prevent Americas access to it. I think trump and musk think russia will supply rare earth minerals on the cheap, but Russia is about to collapse again and various regions break away as they did last time, but this time is much worse than back then, Russia really could cease to exist and America will not benefit at all, Europe China India Mongolia will benefit. As an American, I don’t watch CNN clips and believe what politicians say on either side to get my news. However, it’s absolutely true that EU, and China places tariffs on the US. It is also true that United States provide most of the security for all the free nations. At what point do we say enough? I do not know if Mexico or Canada has tariffs on US goods before this. But if they did, they have become quite entitled, haven’t they.

Im so proud to be Canadian. I will take as much hardship to protect our beautiful Canada. Im buying only Canadian products and from countries that stand with democratic principles.
