The comments on this video show the rest of us why US will lose to China. Yhe majority of you are senseless,entitled and devoid of any ability to think. Venezuelans at the border, where did they come from? Why did they leave? What’s their economy like? How much are essentials? Why is their economy in the toilet? Ideologically driven economic Sanctions you say? By who?why? FYI: they have larger oil reserves than any other country in the world and a government who favours nationalisation.

Understand their home guys.. they’re trapped and victims everywhere they go if they don’t have money and or a well known family. Look at their government, controlled by men with guns that they can really whenever they want wipe those guys out. If they’re homeless here they’ll learn a lesson, and they’ll die like the rest of the people on the streets.. I’m sorry it’s harsh but it’s the truth. we cant stop someone’s life? Why aren't people honest and just say they left because they wanted to make more money? People like you post videos trashing Canada and yet somehow benefit from Canada. Very self-serving videos. I'm not sure what your living situation is, but it probably doesn't apply to most of your viewers. People don't have two-bedroom apartments in Vancouver, and not being able to host is just a lame excuse. Anyone with more than two brain cells can see beyond your shallow arguments. I will say I have been lucky in Calgary (moved to Alberta in 2011; became perm res in 2018) with my healthcare. I have a great liver specialist and family doctor as well as a backup. I just fell and cut the back of my head Monday (2 staples but nicely done; I do not feel any pain). I know that is not common for people. I think some of it is timing based on the comments. It will only get better if we quit USing it (i.e. politicizing it). As an ex-pat watching that dumpster fire, moving to Canada in 2010 (first year in YVR) was the right step for me (however, that said, being that I am plain white looking male, I know that made it so easy at least until I applied for Perm Res. Then, being a white american worked against me). Luckily, I had been involved with a Canadian citizen several years whom sponsored me for Perm Res. I really enjoy seeing your POV in your videos. Hi! Great video and generally balanced in terms of the ideas expressed. Having lived in Canada for a very long time, I have to say that it's a good place to be but the two glaring problems are: 1- the healthcare system is broken. It's very hard to see a doctor and even harder to see a specialist. We pay a lot of taxes and at the end of the day we don't get the services that we paid for. I'd rather pay out of pocket but get to see a doctor when I need one. 2- Canada is a Nordic country so you'd better like winter when living here. By contrast in the US you have a variety of climates so easier to find something that works for you. The cost of living is, I agree, very high in Canada, but it all depends. If you compare it to living in California or New York City, I'd say that our cost of living is cheaper. But in the US you do have the choice to live in a more affordable mid-size city, while in Canada options are much more limited (big cities only include Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary).

I’ve watched the video and I’ve read many comments. My message it’s to immigrants, Canadians & everyone. Just be some patient to read for you to think reasonable after this. I’m sure you’ll start to be reasonable regarding Canada. I had a good life good job & a nice home in Ukraine. Due to the barbarian russian invasion my family & I fled the horrific situation in Kharkiv city. I was driving a mini bus of 4 families! Most are children. We’ve arrived to Europe. Crossing many countries (Poland, Czechia & Austria) we’ve arrived to the country leading the EU. In Poland & Czechia, we’re treat very good by the people. In Austria we got hardly a payed hotel where children could get a rest!!! We still didn’t understand why they don’t want to give us rooms despite we’re paying for our staying!!! In Germany, I believe that the government did its best. But the number of comers is huge! Of course many they got disappointed as happened with me! But I still understand and believe that really the government & people did theirs best. So fast I got a job! The social connection helped to introduce me to the company! But i was not hired, I still to express myself & my qualifications. The manager was understanding, so he accepted to communicate in English and to offer me the job in case if I am successful doing the job during the first week at the site. I had to change the machines menu into English. So the manager was very satisfied with my job and I got that job. The rent! You’ll get it only if you receive the blessing of each member of the county and a very strong social connections! The doctors! To make just a blood work for my son it took 45 days of waiting! To get the doctor appointment, you need that a German guy call and get you the appointment! Because when my wife called, the secretary said: we don’t speak English! But when my wife went for her visit she figured out they’re speaking English better than her!!! My son has an issue of hyperactivity, so they refused to accept him at school more than 3 hours a day! And he was excluded from the birthday parties of his colleagues aswell other events! Other Ukrainian children, they were just attending classes! Just a show! No body cares how help their integration! About, the taxes! The half of my income was going to the government! The money back?! Only 200 euros/ month for my kid. And nothing else. Nothing! To get a neurologist appointment for my son it was necessary to wait 3 months! Prices?! Everything expensive! Technology?! Not better than Canada at all. Bureaucracy, Canada is much less. Banking system, Canada much better. Where in Germany?! The best province in Germany “Munich”. Where people stoped long ago dreaming to purchase a home. Guys, Canada doesn’t through broken people as we were in camps! Where nothing is human there! Canada doesn’t enter you in cercle of hell bureaucracy just to get your kid into school! And if he needs a support he get it right away without any background that he’s not our!!! I got a good job in Canada; so fast. Without any social connections because simply I do not have any. I rent an apartment for my family, without to proof to the landlord that I’m the best guy in the world with a witnessed county about that!!! I want you to be sure, that I am not the lonely case. In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become the North Korea of the western world.

Great video, and 100% true. More than anything my frustration is with hiring and for some reason why people think we are completely dumb !! Having said that I will give it some more time as I have only been here for 4 years. For most of you coming for Europe this maybe a mediocre experience, coming from my country in the state it’s in Canada is still miles ahead. I just wish people were more upfront like you guys, great example for myself is the fact that I worked for a multinational which is fully operational in Canada, they have spent thousands of dollars on my training when I worked for them but their not even open to having a chat with me to hire for a job that was 2 levels below me when I was working in Asia. Ive been to Greece, Ireland, England and Scotland. I will agree that tap water and food is alot healthier abroad than in the states. Public transit sucks in most American cities. There are trains EVERYWHERE in the UK. You can walk a block and see a train there. But the sprawl here is the problem so you mentioned that. I will say Americans are friendlier to tourists than most foreigners, but most Americans are really mean when they travel abroad, so I guess that would balance out. The cost of living argument is hard to agree with, but I wasn't there during the rent hikes, I came back from UK right before they happened. I've heard inflation everywhere is bad, but maybe not in Canada. Love your guys' videos. Keep it up. I always show these to my girlfriend to start discussion/find common ground, and they have not once NOT worked, so well done.

I live in British Columbia. In a city people consider “dangerous.” I remember I had a package delivered to my door. I was at work so I couldn’t go get it. I was imagining those videos I saw on YouTube of people getting their packages stolen within 10 minutes of it sitting there. But nah, It stayed there for 6 hours and never got stolen. Heck my workplace, had a package delivered on Friday evening and it stayed there outside until Monday. I was very surprised both times. I’m not saying that I’m living in a utopia, I’ve gotten robbed before, like everyone else I have my complaints. I think what really helps Canada is the smaller population. Less people means less people to rob shit. That tap water do be nice though.

If you try to say the Scotts are close enough to be considered english then you have never known a Scott and are badly ignorant of history; they are oil and water. Great video!!! As an immigrant to Canada from then Czechoslovakia in the 1980, I can say that you are 100% correct in all aspects, my parents and I encountered these difficulties even back then. I stayed in Canada for 28 years, worked there, met my Slovak husband there and now we are living in Ecuador for the last 14 years - I love it here. It was impossible to live in Canada on one pension - I don't get a pension yet, so we live on my husband's - it is possible to do it here in Ecuador. The bitter truth must be accepted. Without any exaggeration. Completely impartial. I have to say that I didn't see a single piece of garbage in any of the other country's videos to convince myself. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. late in 2022I decided to move to the east coast because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. This is impossible. surprisingly nobody cares. neither the people nor the government!!!!!!! please, don't be fooled by the advertisement about a good Canada. please, be careful. most of the things about a good Canada are deception.

Very good video, I wish I knew it all in 2014! Taxes, OMG this was such a nasty surprise when my grocery bill was higher than what I saw on a price tag. Funny that a lot of this is true in Switzerland as well. Switzerland hates overachievers but values team work. Always respect your team, help and be polite are absolute dealbreakers. Other aspects of cultural norm also works. Remember how Canadians were closed when it comes to personal topics, Swiss people are reserved and it takes time to get closer to them but they can also been direct when it comes to a civil state, at least this happened to me. \nFunny fact: when I arrived in Switzerland I had Canadian views of a distance and annoyed people by saying 80km is close, but when I explained I used to live in Canada they understand I need time to adjust. \nI lived 5yrs in Toronto and never get issues with winter, but I hate summer heat not winter.

I do watch many videos about the topic. First of all there's no place like home. As a human we will have tendency to resist to change. Choosing to leave a country whatever the reason will always be hard, you left a culture, family and so many good things. Diversity in a country like Canada is a good thing sometimes because somewhere somehow you find link to home. Imagine as a French Canadian like I am, I am consider as an immigrant in my own country. The natives came first from Asia, English took over the country which left us with no country we can call home. Many immigrants will say that French is an obstacle and don't understand why we need laws to keep it, we took our place following negotiations with the native not by conquest and always need to fight to keep that space because we're not making babies anymore and do need immigration like the rest of the country. That being said it brings the sensitive topic of jobs. There's types of jobs you do need Canadian experience, in Canada the construction codes are different from even a region versus another one. Do you know that St-Lawrence river is sitting on a tectonic plate and you need to construct a building which can resist a earthquake? What Canada need to do because we do lack of people on those job, is to provide fast track to help them having Canadian experience. They don't need anatomy courses, human here are pretty much the same but they need to know what medication is legal in Canada. Finally, all is on setting expectations, don't expect to feel at home in here, it take in average 3 generations to really feel at home, so be ready to feel pushed aside, be ready to live in a area where you will find mostly people of common cultural background. You will feel left over and pretty much alone. The only solution to be happy in here is embrasse change, go out of your comfort zone, embrace the local culture, talk to people from different backgrounds. There's a difference between multi cultural and integration. Sharing is caring, share your culture and your food, and most of all don't think you have the best way of life and other people don't understand. When you think everyone is wrong is usually a sign that you're the one who is wrong. Racism weirdly don't have a culture, a race or a religion, it's individual.
