Pakistan saw this as a golden opportunity and made the most of it. Pakistan and India were, unfortunately, enemies. \nLots of money started to flow into India, especially Punjab. They started helping criminal and hardline religious leaders so they could create problems for India. \nAfter Pakistan lost the war with India, many of those criminals fled. They went to Pakistan, Pakistan saw that as ppportunity and asked the USA for help. The USA was kind enough to take in those folks and dump them in Canada,. Give them funds to for their Khalistani movement, to create problem for India to make Pakistan happy. Just like the USA once funded Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, etc. to hurt Russia. \nMeanwhile, Canada started using those criminals as a Vote bank. And what do these folks do? They form gangs, of course! Gangs need people, so they started inviting or smuggling people from India. Most of those people are just criminals or the lowest of the low. \nWhen those Khalisthani creating problem for India, Canada and the USA support them. \nDrugs, smuggling, trafficking, and violence are the only things these Khalisthani have learned. \nUntil USA, Canada stop supporting Khalisthani movement both Canda and India will suffer from these people.

I like multiculturalism and this country is founded on immigration. But we need to put cap on each country when receiving them so to maintain the balance of good mix.\n\nI get bothered why this guy statistically divide white vs others. In the end this land belongs to the indigenous people none of us. \n\nAnyways, most of my friends from Western Europe, Japan, Korea and Singapore - first world nations, have already moved back after couple of years of living here. We used to live near Trinity bellwood and the park is now filled with used needles. \n\nAs for homelessness, it's always been there and it got worse during economic depression (2008 mortgage crisis) and current prime rate/inflation situation. Even if you study stats from government subsidized housing, most immigrants work and get out of help but the old immigrants (whites) usually don't flip out of the situation for generations. So there is no reason to tie and blame the Indians for our old problem of homeless population. Stay on point and stop tying it down with non-related issues.

Small landlords get fleeced waiting for the tribunal. \n\nBut if you're a corporate landlord, you get your case heard in a week or two. Why? How? Well, these corporations have lawyers who each book dozens or hundreds of time slots a year IN ADVANCE. They know they will only use a few of them for their needs. The rest go unused. Meanwhile people booking tribunal cases as needed get pushed out a year or more.\n\nThis is a broken system tailored for the rich and connected. The tenants who abuse it are doing so as a loophole strategy.

Immigration is a HUGE issue , surtout from India. I moved to Quéebec, who at one point wanted their identity to remain francophone, we have Indian immigrants on Québec like I was In Toronto, or Bramladesh, Québec used to immigrate people spoke the language, or had the likelyhood to adopt the culture. Sorry--I feel the need to correct one key aspect of this story. What is happening in Poland, Baltics, and Finland (with regard to migrants) is wholly different than what is happening in Greece. But aggressor countries like Belarus and Russia (who are specifically seeking to destabilize the EU) should be strongly disinsentivized from using human beings as pawns. Sure, Poles have shown anti-immigrant sentiment, but Belarussian troops have literally pushed migrants to the borders. They are causing the humanitarian situation, not the EU. \n\nTLDR: what's happening in Poland is totally different than what is happening in Greece. To equate the two is wrong.

You can use those people to build THE housing they need... But wait that's against the benefit of house owners. and who are they? the same people who open the doors. There's jobs for all. It's not about immigration.

We need a better way to use immigrants then the lowest city jobs, we need labourers and construction builders. Brining young people with no skils will lead to a weak culture w a weaker identity

Canada used to have a fairly sane immigration policy - immigrants needed to have a level of education and/or skills that would contribute to areas of Canada's economy and growth - skills or education in fields where there was need for people. Part of the problem now is that so many people are allowed in as refugees, with no usable or useful skills. Another part of the problem is that Canada does not have the infrastructure to accommodate so many more people - we should first build the infrastructure, then allow just the number of people we can house and employ. Another policy should be that our local and provincial governments should have decision making authority where immigrants settle. Huge influxes of people into already crowded urban centers makes no sense - immigrants need to be told what areas of Canada they may go to.\n\nNo culture or group can maintain identity and stability if overwhelmed by large numbers of outsiders. We should limit immigration to the number of foreign cultures and languages that can be successfully integrated into our society.

If we need to fix poor infrastructure, train and use the people here first. So many Canadians, youth without jobs, homeless. Give my 21 year old educated son an opportunity first. He struggles to get a job. I don't buy the excuse that we need this much immigration now. This is a political move.

I am all for immigration if it is adding a benefit. Right now the government is using immigration to juice up gdp numbers, the trade off is weaker gdp per capita, lower living standards and higher unemployment = more gov spending and less productivity. Need to focus more on quality and it would be nice to see more diversity in the targets.

Has anyone looked into the environmental impact of importing tens of thousands from hot sometimes tropical countries to cold snowy countries? As a Filipino watching the economy of USA from afar, I think that no other politician has shown significant concern to help its economy except for Trump. He's pretty bold and not scared to voice out issues that make the democrats uncomfortable. It is not for me to decide who others will vote. However, I see a leader in Trump and he's not afraid to fight back. It's only a matter of time for the Chinese to create its own microchips that are of novelty and prestige. Their economy is of course stagnant as of the moment because many foreign companies pulled out from China. Nevertheless, do you think it's going to be forever? They will cope and soon establish theirs given their population and government financial backing. Trump was right to put trade war against them to regulate foreign trade as it did with Japan. If this won't halt, imagine a future where the Chinese RMB will be the basis of international trade. You don't know the real plan of the Silk Road guys. Americans are conquerors and we have adjusted with their ways already. And, the Chinese are conquerors as well. Their goal is to really surpass the USA. The rise of China has benefited every ASEAN member, but greatly the former than the latter. We can adjust with their ways. However, America and Europe may not be that ready to adjust their ways for them should they surpass USA. Why would they keep immigrants there in NY city instead of sending them to Alaska so they do something productive there? The USA should learn a bit more from Canada. I lived there and their immigration system was great because you could get a workplace from the industries that needed workers that couldn't find Canadian workers. Usually you could get a job that is heavy since most Canadians wouldn't like to work building houses or as welders or anything that is heavy-duty. And those job offers used to be located in the north provinces like prince Edward Island or newfoundland, etc etc... and become a permanent resident there in about a year or two. While in Ontario or BC you could get a PR in 5 to 10 years after graduating from college. Immigrants would go to Northern provinces for sure unless they have a big, huge, insulting budget to spend by living in the main cities like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or Calgary or Winnipeg.

As a Canadian - the immigration tom-foolery that is happening is just as bad up here. Our Prime Minister is a handsome idiot, he was a drama teacher before he became Prime Minister (I know, make that one make sense). He has no idea what he's doing, he's being used as a puppet for more experienced extortionists-erm-politicians. With the help of his party members and a coalition with another party, in less than ten years he has taken Canada from a great place to visit and live to basically what's happening in NY. Crime in our cities has gone up dramatically. Theft is on the rise. Homelessness and drug use is through the roof. Immigration is out of control. And our government also prioritizes immigrants and asylum seekers before born and raised Canadian citizens. As a Canadian who is tired of the nonsense that's been happening in the world this past decade, I wish our government would put on their big boy pants and do something about this uncontrolled immigration. Things are bad here too. Our government seems to keep changing policies and laws to further accomodate the insanity that is happening, I promise, not every Canadian wants these changes to happen. We are just as sick and tired of all this nonsense as our American cousins. I wouldn't be surprised if both countries at some point united in objective and worked together to fix this problem - but that's not gonna happen anytime soon as long as these dummies are in power. Excellent video highlighting this terrible problem. TBH, the world outside of USA isn't all that bad in modern times. Its actually better. Many of these migrants already have a house, job and safety in their own countries. I Feel like the 'cartel' story is overly used to make seeking asylum easy. True asylum seekers who need this benefit can never afford their travel all the way to USA. A country should always take care of its citizens first before another counties citizens. Other countries should care for their own citizens and their problems, not the USA.

Context:\n\nAround a year or two ago driving back home with some friends after visiting Niagara Falls, we were pulled over because my car’s headlights were off. I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. I also hope that our taxes decrease because too much of it are being payed for services to aliens when some of our locals are still stuck in the streets.

The only ones who would travel to Canada and then to the US either already have family in the US, a job lined up or they need to pay back the people who financed their trip.

We (Canada) need to get serious about border security. We're used to migrants coming FROM the US TO Canada, but now it's going the other way.

I think we just have to tell them NO and stop giving illegal immigrants a place to stay and money.. We don't need a physical border wall, just stop giving them money and they will eventually stop when they see that they will just end up laying on the streets in the cold. If they are illegal they shouldn't get anything but a ticket back to where they came from or go to jail. then put back to where they came from and make them able to come in the legal way. And if they try to pull that anchor baby trick coming over here nine months pregnant ready to pop any moment, take them to the hospital let them have their baby and don't make the baby a citizen, and send them back home too.. Will possibly have to shut down those local drivers, revoke the gas station owners business license, recall troops from over seas and put them on guard duty for our borders, heavily armed of course, and uses weapons and tech to repel them when they try to cross in non designated locations.\n\nAlso need to recruit armed citizens to assist . And revoke and deport those on “parole”. Honestly though, shy of capital punishment for immediately catching them on the same day, there is not much of a deterrent for illegals coming here. Unless the government mandates and enforces laws like making it illegal to rent motel, hotel, shelter space, apartments or homes to illegals with fines and imprisonment for those who do. Employers should lose business licenses if they either hire illegals, or do business with another business who does. This would include banks as well since money is what draws them here. Banks are the middle man in all this. So if a landlord rents an apartment to them, both the bank facilitating the money and the landlord go to jail. Gotta lock the illegals out of our economy 1,000% by all means necessary. Such as imprisonment for money services and banks illegals use to send money back home to the cartels and family. Even the stores who rent places to money services would be complicit and eligible for prison. There must be ZERO economic incentives to do any business with illegals anywhere in America.

What kind of a world do we live in where international students get to protest the terms of their visa? Wake up, Canada…these so-called intl students are just using this a back door to get in. Why do we put ip with this? Irrespective of one’s ethnicity..rules are rules. Study then go back. We need to take care of our own citizens first.

I live in Quebec and love winter, but I do sometimes dream of living somewhere like Hawaii or California where I could eat ripe avocados and grow so much food all year round. I could build a tiny home (less regulations - so much red tape here - and cheaper bc less need of insulation and heating) and go swimming every day. This is pretty idealistic though, and could probably do these things in non-american countries. Would I consider moving to the United States? Sure I would consider it. Would I though? Probably not. Why? Similar reasons to many folks in this country:\n- lack of women's rights (still growth to do here too)\n- lgbtqia+ discrimination (here as well, but definitely to a lesser extent)\n- racism (we have this here too though... just maybe less nazis?)\n- guns (this terrifies me... anyone I know who has a gun here has it only for hunting and it's locked up in a gun case, which I think is required, when not in use)\n- healthcare (though I'm not in love with our system... I'm currently on a huge waiting list for an mri, the waiting lists to get a doctor are obscene, and can't access dental or mental health support... some of our hospitals are in such poor shape...)\n- politics and MAGA (terrifying that so many people think like that... though our political parties are pretty fucked up too... just not to the same extent)\n- school systems that teach kids the world is as old as the Bible says\n- police and prison industrial complex (seems less personal and terrifying from the outside)

All immigration needs to stop for minimum 10 years, international students especially. They abuse our welfare system, use this as a back door way into our country.
