Why didn't you take a cafe job? I watch a Korean vlogger who moved last year to Canada with her family. Yes she has it easy. But, she began working now and only 20 hours I guess. She gets fresh leftovers of the day to eat as well and she works in Toronto. You could've found such a job. Server or barista. Job.

Honestly, this is sad, because these people obviously didn't receive higher education. I don't mean it in a bad way, but seriously, getting an education prevents stuff like this from happening because you actually LEARN to think critically about others' situations and the way the world works.

I thought it was bad that a year later in Canada, he still isn't speaking English whatsoever, but interviewed in his native tongue. Then I see that he was in the US for 15 freaking years, and didn't bother there either. I see he and his family has no intention of assimilating. How long before we have a little El Salvador, w/ all the crime they supposedly left. People that won't assimilate to us inevitably bring all their country's crap and woes w/ them. Also, this man who can't be bothered to speak our language is getting work in Alberta. Where native Albertans who do speak English are hard pressed for work. Number one she's a complete f****** liar. Number two she's using stats that are not verified by any government agency anywhere. But you didn't notice they get the same benefits as Canadian citizens. Which is all the welfare that can digest. Here in the United States they get permanent residency and citizenship right away. When I was in college they had tested people and found that if a woman was a writer they found out that there was a basis against women writers. They thought that women could not write as well as men, which didn't make any sense. What about Agatha Christie? She is considered one of the best women mystery writers of all time. I read her books when I was in my teens and twenties. There were many other women mystery writers, too many too name here. I feel sorry for the people who are on the receiving end of racism. My late husband was Creole. I hope we work past these attitudes some day.

I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

I know lots of people with fake diploma that are working in insurance company. I also know some guys that have paid $3000.00 to get their certificate in interior designer. But when they were hired to do interior designing work, they were so called offside and didn't know what to do. As a result they were fired. Same person was also trying to sale a condo that was not theirs, they got caught. There is a guy that charges $3000.00 and will provide you anything you want. You could be a dishwasher today, a week later, you could be a doctor. That really sucks.

I worked for a lady who once worked as a border officer and she said she let in a bunch of people who didn't have the paper work or who she thought was a criminal type person. It was disturbing.

I didn't know Canada had a prob with the Chinese. Seems every western country has its probs with immigrants but I've never had any prob with the Chinese here in UK esp not with them scamming people. I grew up in BRAMALEA, now incorporated with Brampton. BRAMALEA was an idyllic community made up primarily of Brits, European, and African-Canadians. Then Justin’s Dad (Pierre) opened the floodgates of immigration in the ‘70’s to ensure his re-election while transforming Canada into a Socialist Society (Socialized “Free” Health Care paid for by mammoth taxes on the middle class) while promoting “Multiculturalism” as the new Canadian Utopia. In his later years, while close to death, Pierre declared that “Multiculturalism DOESN’T WORK!” And, guess what? Neither does “Free” Healthcare!” As each culture swelled, they felt as though they didn’t need to assimilate. When I return to Canada/Brampton to visit family, I’m disgusted! The Indian residents (who Now comprise about 90% of BRAMLADESH’s population) do NOT look after their housing/property. The older/original neighborhoods where I grew up (well-cared for homes with manicured lawns, lush green-belts with pathways connecting neighborhoods and parks) now borders on slum-like conditions. It’s sad and downright depressing when I visit. All of my high school friends have fled the dilapidated area, and no wonder! Canada’s lax immigration laws, failed “Multiculturalism” and Socialist welfare system have all destroyed Canadian culture AND their middle class (strangled by immense taxation). I was fortunate to have grown up in the BRAMALEA of old, but I am so blessed to have escaped when I did! ??

Nice Video but such misleading comments by people. No you cant afford everything with the minimum wage. People here are doing 2 jobs a day. Only skilled resources make good money, but they dont want to put in the same effort in India. I am in Canada too, making good. So if you were paid 5000 after your masters then there is something you didn't tell us about masters in this video.\n\nAgain another comment in the video is that guy mentions of you making only 10000, that's if you are working on a low profile clerical job, but if you are qualified, hard working then surely you can achieve a lot there too... I started with 8k INR but thats not where i am today. And $14/hr doesn't give you your house, car and all you mentioned in the video. \n\nI know for people from certain areas in India, its all about how they can make it to Canada by Hook or Crook and this video just motivates them. \n\nI am not here to say India is better than Canada or any form of comparison, every country has its baggage and so does India. Its is about what you can do with the resources you have.

If you want to be accepted in another country, first think you do is learn to speak their language. You can't expect a country to change their language to suit you. The Mexican illegals that used to work where I did had been here for over 15 years and still didn't speak the language, and made no effort to learn. On top of that, they couldn't read Spanish either. After mixing bleach with other cleaners and sending some of our customers to the hospital from the poisonous fumes, that was the end of them working for us.

I feel bad for his innocent children to have to go through this. You want to live in another country, you need to follow the law like every else. You learn the language, get the same I.D. We all have to have , and be treated the same as if any American were to illegally cross boarders! What we have to go through just to have identification here should be no different for anyone else! The problem with these people is Most of them get involved in Politics they abuse the system by saying the father was deported so they can suck benefits from the tax payer and state when in fact the father is working and with the family another thing is that they run from communist socialist corrupt Nations and come to our countries to vote for the same policies they ran from .I feel for these people i really do but why didn't he go threw protocol and what about the people who been waiting for years doing it the right way .

Even if they do try to do it the legal way sometimes they are not granted with any type of visa or green card. The government can deny their application for many reasons. So they end up crossing the border illegally. As well it is cheaper to cross the border than to apply for a visa or some sort of legal document. Many of these “lawbreakers” you suggest to be in jail have tired to do everything the legal way but it didn’t work out. Immigrants risk their lives and their love ones to have a better life, to be able to work to be able to have things that it’s impossible to have in their country. They are innocent people with dreams and hopes I don’t know why ya are so quick to judge. Try to put yourself in their place, and try to be open minded and listen.

it's rather hypocritical how some of the people practicing islam acts. If it's easy why won't this people go to Saudi Arabia or Iran and live and work there. What baffles me the more is that most of the so called Islamic states that are affected by wars and terrorism Why didn't kingdom of Saudi Arabia government take them in as immigrants since they are they founder of Islam and it's a religion of peace as they so claim. Loss prevention officers wouldn't be good at their jobs if they DIDN'T employ a healthy level of stereotyping. They aren't doing it to be racists or bigots. They're doing it because it's actually EFFECTIVE at mitigating company thefts. Sorry, but that's the cold hard truth. Insurance companies do the exact same thing when determining your premium. It's called risk management. And if you think that's discrimination, then you obviously don't understand how money works.

Having worked for Best buy in my experience my bosses made us be that annoying and ask and talk to each customer more than once depending on time in the store if u didn't they cut ur hours the following week and I hated it personally when someone says no need no help I feel like awesome I can go bk to waiting for this shift to end cause I hate my job!

I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). They then have to get their case processed by the refugee board, and most seem to get in. I've only heard of few getting sent back. One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. Lol the "Canadian government asks them to repay the traveling cost to Canada if they are sent back"....I wonder how much the government recoups?.....more like 0 probably. What a bunch of crap. How do you demand someone to repay their flight cost when they get back to their country?

I agree with a lot of the things said in the comments. He didn't properly look into what is required for refugee status and came illegally so shouldn't receive preferential treatment. However, his not speaking English...where could he go to learn as an illegal immigrant? And likely he had to work long hours to save money for lawyers, etc. The language thing to me seems a bit harsh. He may even know passable English, but the reporters may have wanted the interviews to go more smoothly and so spoke in his native language.

I'm an immigrant and I wish I didn't leave my homeland and immigrated to North America! I'm not saying that in a bad way, but we immigrants suffer a lot when we leave our original countries to live and work abroad! I spent the last 25 years of my life unhappy, alone, lonely and without family! When I talk to my family back home, most of them are living happily while I'm suffering here! You might say, why don't you go back!!! My answer, after living here for 25 years, I don't feel I belong back home and sadly I don't believe I belong here either! \nPeace and love!

I feel sorry for this man and his family! But I wonder how sorry he feels, knowing that by coming to Canada, he and his fellow immigrant countrymen have, taken jobs away from Canadians? 1500 people like myself that have worked here all their lives? I was working in the meat industry for over fifteen years, just to have my employer, take my skilled job and give it too an unskilled worker, under the temporary foreign worker program. That program was set up by the federal government for unskilled workers, coming to Canada for unskilled jobs that Canadians didn't want. My job was a skilled job, that I had to work my way up from the bottom, to the level of employment, that only skilled workers were capable of doing. This temp program was for unskilled employment only! But if your employer is big enough in the industry, the government allows them to bend the laws of the land, and give your jobs to any undereducated immigrant that comes along...WTF? Canada wake up!!!

Been in canada for 10 yrs never been sick. Only time I needed heath services was for my 1rst child last year. Went 7 months of pregnancy tests and exams paid nothing.\nI spent 2 months in NICU didn't pay a dime.\nTook 6 months parental leave still got income coming (could have taken 12 months since my spouse doesn't work).\nI don't care how rich I get. I'll always support universal health care. It worked for me.

I can't believe what's being said in these comments. So the fact that he didn't speak English in the interview is the only thing that sunk in? Ok. Many of the immigrants that come here , come for the opportunities: Work, food, shelter, etc. Learning English should be mandatory in all immigrants applying for citizenship but we can't disregard someone because they choose NOT to speak English. For all we know, this guy (I'm sure) understands and probably can speak some English but for the sake of the interview the producers mostly likely asked him and he chose to speak in Spanish.

It’s funny that the leader of Canada was making Trump out to be a devil because he didn’t want illegals in the US and mean while his country is doing exactly that. Just look at Europe and you’ll see how well that’s working out.

This guy works hard; the manual labour he does isn't easy, and it's done in sub-zero weather (it can get down to -50 with windchill up near Edmonton). He's contributing to our economy and isn't a criminal; he's just trying to provide his family with a better life. For the same reasons my ancestors immigrated to Canada. Most of them didn't learn English for over 2 generations, but eventually we found our way and our culture became part of the broader Canadian culture. I hope the same happens for him and his family.

I’m Canadian and I firmly agree with Trump on his immigration plans. I was worried that illegals might start trying to come here. Glad to see it didn’t work out. Get in line and do it the right fucking way like all my immigrant friends and their families did asshole.

I agree that racism exists in Canada in a subtle form. In my experience people would have more discrimination towards minority with foreign accents. I have heard from other people commenting immigrants 'this person has accent' and to me, it can be perceived negatively. Sometimes I feel I am treated differently because I have accent, especially at working environment. Few years ago I worked in school and my white boss put this on my yearly performance: Your 'emerging' English skills can have negative impact to children's language development. I didn't tell this to anyone but was very disappointed as we are a diversified country with so many immigrants, and this should not come out from an educator's mouth.

My personal thought about the women in this video, good reason they cover their faces, they are butt ugly! I can't see 25k refugees coming to the GTA to work on the railways and build subways or doing construction work. I can't see the refugee women working at anything more than Tim Hortons, if they are even allowed to do so, based on their religion. I have seen it, I live it everyday. This might a little of topic but many of the practices that Muslims do are very good health wise \n\n1) while making wudo (a special wash before prayer) when we rinse our nose with water to that cleans until the the bone at the top of our nose is so good that it actually finishes allergies like if you have pollen allergy because when you clean it is getting less sensitive and more stronger I know someone (I've met someone) that had an allergy with fur or something and they made wudo very often and in actually 2 years they had no allergies\n\n2) when we pray:\nThere was a young man who wasn't so practising so he didn't pray he spent his time working out and doing track and field during one of his runs he fell and fractured a bone when the went to the doctor (non Muslim doctor) he told the guy to do some actions that will help in recovering his bones and the acts that the doctors showed him were the actions we do in our prayer, the guy decided to do these actions but not by itself but in his prayer and this was giving to him by a person that wasn't even Muslim!\n\n3) when Muslims cover ourselves many guys don't hit on us because when we cover ourselves its a sign so show that we are not into these kinds of stuff \nIf you want to see proof search up walking in NYC for 10 hours by AreWeFamousNow\n\nSo next time you say that we are crazy doing this stupidity we are protecting ourselves and we are treating our body good health wise.
