Best advice is never ever believe touts, media or friends that it is greener in the West. Go on a short work contract not take a loan or sell up and leave. These Western countries are unlike job visas to the Gulf so be very careful before making a move in hope of a better life.

I waited 7 years to bring my wife over here. We have a son and he is an Americsn citizen. My wife sees the degradation of our cities with so many immigrants coming over here and we try to avoid JFK and LAX like the plague. Canadians are the MOST chill and accepting welcoming peaceful ppl known Worldwide for it throughout history! BUT!!!! Oh, no… our emergency room wait times average is probably around 3 hours (give or take). While 15 to 20 minutes sounds absolutely awesome, it’s not happening here, unfortunately. And that’s because we don’t have enough medical doctors in emergency care. The majority of them are in private practice, (because it pays better) and even then, there aren’t enough doctors for our growing population. I will admit, though, if you don’t want to go to a hospital emergency room to be seen you can always access walk-in clinics which are all over the place. You don’t have to pay. You just show your OHIP card (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) and the wait is probably less than an hour to be seen. Our Walmarts have walk-in clinics, for example. Easy access, less wait times. Of course, these clinics are not for major emergencies such as heart attacks, bleeding, broken bones, etc., but they definitely come in handy if you don’t have a family physician.

Don't feel sad everything will turn out to be good. The same thing is happening everywhere in the workplace nowadays as it is comman and it we stand against it they say that we are immature and can't understand it. Even same thing happened to me did extra hours of work but still said it is not enough and did others work as well and they complained that i didn't complete everything on time. I believe that lack of health care in the U.S. stops many Canadians from even considering moving and working in the U.S. It may take longer to get medical care and treatment in Canada, but everyone is entitled to it. About 30 yrs ago we all paid into it, at our jobs. Not anymore. I believe employers may still be paying into it, but I think now it is just paid for with our taxes. So even people that do not work or are retired, each and every person is allowed it - if you live here.\nThere is also some Dental Care provided for some Children. Very recently,free Dental care is provided for people over 65. It is very new, so I do not know a lot about it yet. Also some drugs too are free for those over 65 too.\n\nPersonally I do not even want to visit the U.S because it seems like a very dangerous place.

Giving birth in Canada is free. So is the prenatal dr visits throughout the 9 months prior and it includes birth classes and how to deal with pain and how to take care of baby after birth.

Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. The US will not assist Canada when a possible War 3 will occur, and we the people of Canada and the land are easy prey. If you do not believe me, just come visit RED Deer shelters and walk around on the trails, go to Vancouver but becareful because random assaults are happening every day, people living in tents, using the streets as toilets, drugs galore, even the police is unable to act nor arrest criminal activities caused by desperate people who need to survive. Canada's economy is about to collapse and fall into a recession. We have too many people coming in our country without checking their back ground and many criminals and terrorist groups are entering declaring refugee status whether it is true or not, we do not know. The people of Canada who work and pay highest taxes are used to house these newcomers and education, jobs, food and money. The housing shortage is a common thread to the economic/ housing crisis! But why aren’t they building rental units??? Simple, would you build a plane if your passengers simply boarded the plane and refused to pay?? if that were to happen the offending passengers would be de-planed and arrested! \nBut when it comes to renters, they can move in, stop paying rent and it can take 6-12 months to legally evict them. As a former contractor I have been witness to landlords offering cash to tenants and squatters to leave their properties which have always been left trashed and badly damaged! The laws that protect these criminals are a joke and predatory tenants know it! I had a client who rented her condo to a lawyer and after a couple months the tenant stopped paying. She filed for a writ of possesion and waited months for the hearing. She brought all the documentation and the tenant showed up claiming they had cancer ( no documentation, letter from doctors Nothing!) The writ of possession was denied for compassionate reasons! The landlord had a mortgage and was paying the condo maintenance fees, the tribunal didn’t care! \nThey set it aside for six months. In the end cash was offered and the tenant left! After the massive clean up and damage was repaired it was put on the market! This is how far left Canada has gone! There’s simply no way forward!
