I left Ontario in 2002 and moved to Quebec with my French-Ontarian wife from Timmins. I have no regrets.

There are two absolutes in today's modern world - ethic enclaves (Indians, Chinese, French, Italians, Jews, Arabs, Africans etc etc) and two....douches who are always complaining about that. Indians are the highest income earners in the US and Canada, because they instill strong values of education in their kids, who grow up to become high-paying earners in fields like medicine and technology. This also makes them the highest income tax bracket, and biggest contributors to the tax pool.

Make it mandatory for every immigrant who wants to work or study in Canada to pass Canadian exams in english and french before ever coming here and agree to bring family or extended family here ..also international students after there school is done leave the country and are also not to work while here

I like some of PPC views but Conservatives are our best shot to rid us this pariah Justin Trudeau. However i would be very reluctant to vote for a French Canadian Quebec PM ever again !! Their blatant favoritism and loyalty to Quebec rather then Canada as a whole I find infuriating

It's amazing how when English speaking Canadians say we need less immigration it's racist, but, when Quebec does it, to preserve French culture, not a peep from Jagmeet and Justin.

As im watching this im literally the only caucasion canadian on the go train, so i think the ship has sailed on keeping anglo french culture alive in canada. All we can do is try to make it a civilized transition.

Canadian here with what I hope is a level headed view.\n\nI would say that the biggest issue and problem is to be laid at the Liberal Party's feet. Both Canadians and Indians are Pawns in a political game of Chess. Trudeau and his administration are using the Imagination community for votes. This also means that so as not to offend Immigrants new to the country, Canadian ways, traditions, lifestyles, ect. are targeted by the Liberal government.\n\nAs an example, If I went anywhere in the Middle East, I would be expected to respect and adhere to the laws and traditions of the country I am in. BUT, here in Canada, it is becoming no longer acceptable to celebrate our heritage, traditions or even holidays as it might offend Immigrants.\n\nThat's an idea as to the bigger picture.\n\nThe smaller picture is stupid things like an Immigrant the his or her diet doesn't allow the ingestion of Pork/Ham/Bacon.... but say orders a Bacon Cheese Burger then makes a scene because he or she isn't allowed to eat pork... and eventually is given the meal for free. Or in one case the restaurant offered to pay for the entire meal in which the 5 immigrants at the table drank $350 in Alcohol. Yes I have witnessed both. \n\nThere are also cultural issues which cause friction. The language barrier being one major. Especially when an Immigrant tries to claim he or she cannot speak the English or French but holds a valid Driver's license. The license could not be held if the individual doesn't speak English or French. \n\nRegardless, individual issues are small when confronted with a government that treats everyone as Pawns.

If the French politicians who always leading our country, like the current one, then let the immigrants go to Quebec, since they are a separate nation inside our country.

As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! It is just that the media tends to focus on black and brown people as it sells better!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Ohhh and have we forgotten already those Italians who moved to France in 1900s to escape misery and hunger in Italy!!!! Ohhh …. we already forgot!!!! And what about the Ukrainians, many of whom come to Canada now and take jobs and reap benefits from the local? Some even “taking” others husbands and breaking locals’marriages (happened to a colleague of mine last year)!!! Ohh sorry, you guys are still very busy focusing on the ones that are …. Tanned;) so soooorrry!

Canada must repeat what it did in the 1930's and the 1940's. Canada needs to bring 5 million immigrants from Eastern Europe, like Poland, Portugal, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Macedonia etc. Just look at the Eastern Europeans in Canada, they and their Canadian born children and grandchildren have learned and speak the English language fluently. In Canada, people speak English and French. The British and the French values must be upheld. God save the King.

How easy it is to forget that the land called the USA was once the country belonging to the native people. I see his point, but we Canadians know that we can’t go to your countries and have our pride parade. For example, I can’t move to India and have a French Métis Canadian pride parade. The immigration pipeline has been taken over by fraudsters. Consultants and most companies don't care about bringing the best, they care about making money and bringing the cheapest. No English or French, no work ethic, no manners, etc. Even the other Indians and immigrants I know agree.

They should stop giving citizenship for expats .. student visa work permit and PR is okay... Let the locals french guys remain there as citizens ....the Russian royals who migrated there years ago and other french ppl should be citizen.

As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!

I am not sure when it happened, but I have recently noticed that most of the employees at my local Walmart, TD bank, and Shoppers Drug Mart are Indian. Many of them do not speak English or French.

We have both french speaking and english speaking racists in Canada. Both are abhorrent.

It is challenging to be empathetic to these 'students.' I do think Canada should focus on graduating Canadian students with Canadian language skills and getting them into meaningful employment. Many of the TWP jobs can and should be filled by Canadian students who already speak one or both of Canada's official languages. It is getting increasingly difficult to be served effectively in English. French is less of a problem but too often Int Student Grads struggle to communicate in French also.

It’s crazy the federal government has done this and place I understand why they a running from Quebec schools the added extra French to it as well! Lots of Quebec anglophones are thinking the same!! ?????

My folks came to this country in 70s from Guyana he owned a trucking company, my siblings and I were born here and learned the history of Canada and learned french. Its important that new citizens know the history of this great country and if born here learn the English and french language.

I have met a lot of Indians both good and bad. When you go to a store or somewhere you have this race of people who won't speak Canadian language, unless it's absolutely necessary. God forbid if you say to them they should speak English ior French in Canada, you are always called racist. When you hear of a murder of drug raid, it's almost always an Indian name. Hell, when you are cut off in traffic, well as you said in ithe beginning they look like you, not me. As I said at the first I have met and made friends with Indians, but it begins to piss you off, when there are so many. Our government has to stop the import of one race and if need be choose a little of all races, and prepare.

People in the East are extremely friendly but Quebec and half of New-Brunswick is only accessible in French. The rest of the Atlantic is very friendly as well. Ontario is basically a different country.

I know of east Indians who were born and raised in Canada, speak french and english fluently, watch hockey, and have respectacle jobs. They live just like any other Canadians. But I feel bad for them because I sure they are immediately stereotyped, especially if they go to Brampton.

As a FRENCH individual, I would\nSay this!!! WHY would you or even plan to come to a country that rejects you??? Why waste your money to come here???? Why immigrate here??? Lately, I have my older brother move back to France and my 2 daughters NOT willing to stay in Canada (they hate the Canadian education system here)! My wife wants to fly back to France and so am I and we will as soon as we can!!!! As for me … I HATE the Canadian healthcare system (rigid and INEFFICIENT) with all its stupid waiting times and lack of humanity and transparency!!! In France NO ONE has to wait 6 years (I heard this many times from friends) for an operation or 15 weeks to see pediatrician!!! I do not like the taxes, nor the hidden racism that is WAY WORSE than AMERICA (I have a coloured friend who knows well and who snobbed racist Canadians by speaking French to them. This friend of mine is in fact… a French citizen himself). I hate the Canadian transportation system, the banking system which is designed to STEAL from people!!! Systematic racism is a part of the system. I am a civil servant scientist working in a French lab. Before joining my new position, I worked 6 months at KIT which is considered top 3 ranked university in Germany. The way I was treated was not right for me. I am a dutch citizen who worked in academia in different countries, including Japan, US. The only place I faced racism at academic level was Germany. The head of group allows him/herself to infer into your personal life just because they can fire you anytime they want. The only country which has 6 months of probation is Germany, nowhere else keeping you like a hostage to shape you as their slave and if you do not obey, you are fired. Sorry but Germans are the ones taling their country down big time. They gotta first how to not live in WW2. They feel yet as if they are a better race and others just modern slaves.

I opened a business in Canada with a partner in 1974. By 1985, in spite of having a successful business, I moved to the US in 1985, and have never looked back. Canada was moving in a direction in the 80’s, that I could see was no longer a fit for me. I never believed that Canada would sink as low as it has, but I have to admit, compared to the US, it was becoming far too regulated, and far too Liberal for my liking.\nThe open immigration policy for me, was a complete deal breaker, and its current shift to being a Muslim, East Indian, Chinese, and African country, would not have worked for me, as a Canadian Protestant of English, Irish, and French descent. i love how new brunswick is officially bilingual even tho only 30-35% of the population speaks french. its easier to get service in hindi then in french in moncton and most of the province.

Back in the late 1990s I made serious plans to emigrate to Canada. My country seemed to me a black endless hole from politics to daily life. I even learnt French because my plan was to settle in Quebec. Time went by and, sadly, Canada has gone downward. My country has fared a littlet better since myymid twenties. It still sucks but I get along with it. There always is a place to call home if you have seen the world. Lucky you, I haven't seen as much world as I once dreamt of. Good luck on your choice.

You are spot on. And these people who works in Timmies and Walmarts talk to each other in Hindi or what ever their language, even in front of customers. That's so messed up man. And even talk to us in their language, even without knowing if we speak that language or not. English & French are the languages we use here in business. I don't know how these people immigrated and got these Jobs. So messd up man.

I was very hurt when I went to a Walmart in Brampton, and could not communicate. Then our national anthem was sung in neither french or English. It was sung in Punjabi. It really hurt.
