The majority of America is against Trump, and his tariffs. Also against his criminal, selfish, narcissistic actions. I am an informed voter. So indeed for this reason.. I did not vote for Trump. I voted against him. Come on midterm elections! We have to win back the Senate and the House!

The Drug Fentanyl is coming into the USA because Americans want it to come in .\n. America would be better employed finding the reason for people to need this narcotic .Maybe it's because your . society is so unfair, maybe it's because you have so many people without money, possessions, education and opportunities . Maybe it's because you don't look after your sick and elderly and UNDERPRIVILEGED.. Trump should not blame other country's HE SHOULD ACT LIKE A REAL LEADER . And show leadership AND focused on improving the well-being of all citizens.

This is nothing about fentanyl. It is all about appeasing putin. Lets call it for what it is. Why? We are shaking our heads but the reason will come soon.
|

The reason is simple: Trump is trying to 'soften up' nations for Putin to invade.

An ex-KGB chief: “In 1987 I worked in… the KGB of the USSR in Moscow… our department recruited the 40 year-old businessman from the USA, Donald Trump, nicknamed “Krasnov”. That’s when Trump starts buying full-page ads attacking NATO. “Putin is doing a great job of outsmarting our country.” He says. Steele report: Russian operatives gathered damaging video evidence of perverted sex acts of presidential candidate in 2013, for blackmail. Mueller said “There were multiple, systematic efforts to interfere in our election.” Trump campaign had more than 140 contacts with Russian operatives, and Trump attempted to obstruct justice at least ten times. Campaign chair lied about then finally admitted to sharing info with Russian spy. Trump, ignoring US intelligence said: “…Putin, he just said it wasn’t Russia. I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be.” Secret meeting in Trump Tower with Russkies. Jared attempts to set up secret back channel to Russia in the Russian embassy. Trump to NATO member on prospect of Russian attack on their country “In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want.” Trump: “If Putin likes Donald Trump… That’s called an asset…” Yeah, a Russian asset. FBI chief Kash Patel was paid $25,000 to appear in anti-FBI video by Russian backers. “The love in the air, I’ve never seen anything like it” Trump said of January 6 rioters, some of them cop-killers… “Russia if you’re listening…” “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily…” Yes, they own a seditious, treasonous felonious American president. All allegedly…

And as usual everyone immediately goes after Trump before you see any results. As Trump tries to save money for American citizens for some reason liberals are against it. Trump did a pretty good job the last time he was in office so give him a chance. Trudeau is on his way out so I don’t particularly care what he has to say. He’s more in line with a Bernie Sanders than a Conservative.

I do hope that Canada, EU and Britain will work together, there is no reason Britain and EU cannot replace America as the main trade partners and I have seen plenty of other videos about other asian countries indicating interest in Canada's trade.\n\nBut this is much more than just tariffs, Trump has really gone off the deepend siding with Russia and undermining Ukraine, even undermining the sanctions, I wouldn't be surprised if he is already trading with Russia, using whatever bizarre pretext he chooses.\n\nThese should already be red flags to Canada, there is a long standing relationship with the UK and Ukraine, but Canada is only reacting on the tariffs, which detracts from what other action they might have taken.\n\nThe imposition of these tariffs should be the straw that breaks the camels back, I hope that if America repeals these tariffs that Canada will still diversify so that they don't ever end up in this situation again.

Since when did Canada care about America? The reason you're pissed is because you know it's going to hurt you not the Americans. The fight is on Canada!

Trudeau resigned as prime minister because he was deeply unpopular in Canada. He proceeded to suspend parliament while President Trump threatened these Tariffs and then immediately left to Europe to posture with European leaders. He did absolutely nothing to strengthen the US/Canadian relationship while his party set about appointing (not electing) a new leader. Trudeau is an actor and a hypocrit. Do not believe anything he says. Now I don't agree with President Trump's tariffs on American allies like Canada. I don't understand the metrics he's using to justify them. Maybe there is a real reason, but this fool that you're listening to has not represented Canada faithfully and I reject everything he says.

There's a reason Trump bankrupted 6 times, including 2 casinos. He's a horrible businessman. He's trying to run this country like one of his bankrupted company.

I have my quarrels with some policies enacted by my government, and I have my issues with Trudeau himself.. But this is leadership. Eloquent, passionate and reasonable. Oh! and in two languages. Admit it, Americans, you wish you had this kind of leadership.

Dear Mr. President Trump, would you please reconsider welcoming these wonderful fellow North Americans living in these TEN Canadian Provinces, not as the 51st State, but as TEN States, when being invited into the United States of America? These Canadian Provinces being Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.\n\nSuggested is to make Canada’s existing 10 Provinces into 10 individual United States States. Canada will benefit with a strong 10 State influence within 60 United States governance affairs. Benefits are 10 more States on a balanced display welcomed as 10 white stars within the beautiful United States of America field of Blue of our Flag. Other countries will see North America’s Great Power when 60 glorious States, when combined, and working well together, communicating best when communicating with each other only in English, when English is the United States official National Language. No more Government waste of having multi language signage. Another geologically considered North American country, Greenland, with 4 more territories may wish to add four more States, as well as the many existing United States Territories across the globe may desire Statehood. The Sun will never set on the United States. As for 10 Canadian States, think of the benefit of 20 mostly conservative thinking U.S. Senators which equals a larger majority of conservative votes in the larger U.S. Senate when composed of 120 Senatorial political leaders. 120 U.S. Senators keep the Filibuster procedure balanced. 10 Canadian Provinces converted into 10 United States States equals many more conservative House of Representatives votes enhancing the conservative majority of political leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives. So many good reasons why Canada’s 10 Provinces, with a mostly conservative thinking population of thinkers, should be transformed into 10 new United States States, not just one United States. Yes....10 more States that is the helpful way forward for the United States to have a very dominant conservative thinking population of United States Congress Political Leaders, resulting in a long term more stable United States Congress representing 60 United States, thinking more conservative, thinking more logical, thinking more common sense thoughts, thinking more capitalist job creation thoughts, thinking more tax cut thoughts, are just some of the benefits of having 60 United States of America States on display, and functioning efficiently going forward for all the World’s Countries to marvel at.

What an idiot. He is making everything worse for Canada. And the nerve to bring up Putin and insinuating Trump is on his side. Then to put down the American people to say Your government is doing this. \nIf he were smart, he wouldnt have made a news conference till his temper calmed down. Then just plainly say we are making the same tarrifs to the US...which essentially is a wash. We dont need Canadas imports. The only reason we go to Canada for supplies is because of regulations, EPA , green deal and special interest groups. \nNow that is over we dont need them.\nCanada has refused secure their border for years.

Anyone who ever was a victim of bullying understands exactly what is going on and how it will end for those who wants to appease/bend to the bully. Yes, it will be painful for Canada, extremely. But you have to get really sick in order to recover stronger than ever before. Zelensky knew the inner workings of how bullies work so he probably knew the white house meeting won't end cordially especially it is occupied by people he has no love for and he understood the lack of love was mutual. I think he'd bent over and wagged his tail if he thought that'd help his nation but knowing that will not get his country anywhere anyways, why would he bend over and try to please someone who was determined to screw him and his country to begin with. Zelensky saw how Canadian prime minister was treated and how he tried to please Mr. T yet to no avail. Yes, Zelensky has no real good, readily available cards to play. If the game is rigged, no reason to play by your rule, is there?

Trump is a traitor. When will people observe the obvious - Trump is doing everything Putin wants to happen. How else can you explain a fractured relationship with our neighbors - Canada and Mexico? For bogus reasons.
|

American here. To Canada and Mexico: do your thing. Our sorry excuse for a president is doing this for NO reason other than he's a complete spoiled CHILD. I stand with our neighbors to the north and south!!!?❤? ??❤

For some reason I just don't see Trudeau as any form of a threat. I bet he still gets his lunch money taken from him.

It doesnt make sense . Donald trump is crazy. Mentally challenged. But honestly , it seems like he is wanting to do all he can for Russia. He wants Russia as an ally, not the countries we have always aligned with so trying to reason with him will not be affective.

Trump started this crap!!! We have to stand firm against this Dictator!! Less than 1% of drugs come from Canada - really that was his reason??? He is such a liar and idiot. If people in Canada don't want to be here and want to join the US - I say GO no one is holding you here!!!! Here is the door don't let it hit you on the way out!!!

There is a reason for the tariffs; Trump is fooling his idiotic supporters that he’s doing what he said he would do and they are dumb enough to believe it while they pay more for gas and food! You cant make this ishh up!

Proud to be Canadian and happy that Trudeau has finally said that this was not about fentanyl and border security. This is about applying economic pressure to annex Canada. Trump needed a reason to declare an emergency so that he could break the USMCA agreement.❤??

My problem with the doom and gloom is people love to blame all our problem on the current PM and “wokeness”. I am not saying JT and the Liberals don’t deserve any criticism they do but all the time it’s for all the wrong reasons. Public Housing is a provincial issue, Healthcare is a provincial issue zoning is a municipal issue. However all of these issues are made worse by lack of public housing funding (looking at you Doug Ford) and nimbyism at the municipal level (looking at you Rob Ford and almost every mayor large Canadian cites have had). My parents hate JT now because property prices came down slightly but they loved him during Covid when prices went through the roof. When the liberals implemented the mortgage stress test they hated him and voted conservative in 2019 because Andrew Scheer went on the news and said he will get rid of it. When the liberals got rid of the stress test on first time homebuyers they loved the liberals again. They are property developers so they don’t mind paving over the Agricultural land reserve but god forbid a fourplex is built in our neighborhood. However I am not too cynical I have seen progress by the current government AFTER THEY WHERE -20pts in the polls. Now I just hope the Tories don’t get rid of the Housing accelerator fund and other funds that will make a impact in 10 years.

For 2 decades Canadian cities have had a condo building boom (for non-North Americans, a condo(minium) is a building built by developers with the intent of selling off the apartments individually, instead of the whole building being one large rental property - that's a rental building) with the rather strange peculiarity that the bast majority of those condos are small - studios, one bedroom and one bedroom + den (in North American real estate linguo, a den is a small room without a window). There are some two bedroom apartments, and three+ bedroom apartments are very rare. One of the reasons for this is a general mindset that apartments are for singles, young childless couples and retired empty-nesters, while families are supposed to live in a house of their own. Another reason is that some archaic building codes restrict the type of apartments developers can fit in a building. The result of this is that in a country which certainly does not lack space, there are now tons of small apartments (the demand for which has been going down in many areas), but it's too expensive to afford a larger space to buy (whether a house or one of those rare large apartments) once you want to start a family.

You said there's no reason that people would pick Canada over the US but given the current political and sociological climate in the United States that's not true anymore.\n\nPeople want access to healthcare, paid parental leave, a social fabric that isn't toxic, access to women's healthcare, lack of gun violence, consumer protections etc.\n\nJust like many Europeans won't leave Europe for the US, many Canadians won't either, especially now.

Increase access to unused and agricultural land in urban arease\nImpose export tariffs on construction materials\nReduce union fees for construction workers\nRemove municipal restrictions on high density housing\nReduce temporary immigration\n\nJust a few things that would help the housing crisis. A housing deficit serves only the investors, it's time that the state produces housing at a reasonable price. Might be wishful thinking, but we need ways to keep housing affordable.
|
| 2025-03-03 | 0 |
The reason real estate prices have gone 300% but incomes only 100% is because of low interest rates. If you factor in carrying costs, the numbers aren't as extreme. The challenge now is that interest rates have increased to stave off inflation generated primarily during the covid years. While this has somewhat abated, real estate carrying costs remain elevated and price growth has stagnated, while the Canadian dollar has fallen, effectively resulting in reduced housing valuations (in US dollar terms). Can we ride this out until incomes catch up? Will productivity increases promised by leading political challengers (election coming this year) move the needle? Are tariffs and 51st state rhetoric just a negotiating tactic and bluster, or something real? Nobody knows, but we will find out..

Not trump but a more liberal future president should seriously consider making Canada apart of the USA, it would be ridiculously powerful and innovative. I mean the only reason they exist is the British managed to fight off the US

I’m writing a novel series where there’s a different president in office in 2009-2013, and during this time the crisis in Canada leads to them joining with the UK and other Anglo nations to create a new British empire under the rule of King Charles, and the American president is then forced into a conflict with this new geopolitical foe, and it’s all for personal reasons.

Yes, you have some beautiful places to see, however there are WAY too many reasons not to move there? Gun culture? Blows my mind. Health care? I don’t want to live under a bridge after a major health issue. And don’t get me started on the bat shit crazy politics. I could go on and on….

Why spend all that tax money on northern boarder enforcement - how about Canada - reform your immigration policy and stop em at the airport. Cost a lot less to stop them at the airports if they don't have a good reason then tracking em down with Blackhawks and depleting our resources. Hope you get a better leader soon! Trudeau just talks out both sides of a#%, but unlike sleepy Joe, at least he can talk??

She’s East African like me! Focusing on the situation, this is disheartening. Not only is she the type to play victim, but clearly you can tell that landlord is patient and reasonable. Hate when honest or good people get screwed. Happened to me more times than I ever woulda expected. Sad thing is that even with eviction, he may not get back all the money he was owed.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE have not officially taken in large numbers of Palestinian refugees for several reasons, rooted in historical, political, and strategic considerations:\n\n1. Political and Historical Context\n\t•\tArab League Policy (1950s-1960s): Many Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, follow a long-standing policy of not granting full citizenship to Palestinian refugees to preserve their right to return to their homeland. The idea is to prevent the permanent resettlement of Palestinians outside of Palestine, which could weaken their claim to the land.\n\t•\tPrevious Palestinian Expulsions: Gulf countries have had tense relations with Palestinian leadership in the past. For example, Kuwait expelled around 400,000 Palestinians after the 1991 Gulf War because the PLO supported Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait.\n\n2. Citizenship and Integration Policies\n\t•\tGulf states have strict immigration and citizenship policies, even for other Arabs. They generally do not grant permanent residency or citizenship to foreigners, including Palestinians.\n\t•\tEven Palestinians already living in the Gulf (many of whom work there) typically hold Jordanian, Lebanese, or Egyptian travel documents rather than Gulf passports.\n\n3. Demographic and Economic Considerations\n\t•\tThe UAE and Saudi Arabia have large populations of migrant workers, mostly from South Asia and other Arab countries. Bringing in large numbers of Palestinian refugees could create social, economic, and political challenges.\n\t•\tThe Gulf states prefer to offer financial aid rather than resettlement, as seen in their donations to the Palestinian Authority and humanitarian aid for Gaza.\n\n4. Changing Political Alignments\n\t•\tSaudi Arabia and the UAE have been shifting toward normalization with Israel as part of broader geopolitical and economic strategies. Taking in large numbers of Palestinian refugees could strain these developing ties.\n\t•\tThe UAE was the first Gulf country to sign the Abraham Accords with Israel in 2020, and Saudi Arabia has been engaging in quiet diplomacy with Israel.\n\n5. Security Concerns\n\t•\tGulf states are cautious about allowing politically active or militant groups into their borders. Given the history of Palestinian militant movements, there may be concerns about internal security and potential destabilization.\n\nWhat Do They Offer Instead?\n\t•\tGulf countries provide financial aid to Palestinian causes and UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency).\n\t•\tSaudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar have invested in reconstruction projects in Gaza and the West Bank.
