I am a South Sudanese Canadian who pretty much grew up in Kenya before travelling abroad. Life in Canada is not easy.. especially after Trudeau came to power.\nI make pretty good income in IT, but i pay like 30% in taxes...30% of my money is gone. I dont see it. I know others who pay more than me in taxes. The grocery is also high, as are the other bills. Rent is really high. In my city, an average house costs 800k. Even my cousins in the US are shocked at the prices of homes in Canada. My rent is much higher than the mortgages being paid by my cousins in the US. In places like Toronto or Vancouver, it is worse.\n\nI went back to Africa last time and saw so many opportunities, that i made my decision yo transition slowly back home. \n\nThe problem i find with most Africans is thinking of finding jobs in the government or private sector. If you are a Kenyan, or Ethiopian or South Sudanese, etc, think of creating jobs instead.\n\nThe opportunities for entrepreneurship in Africa are endless because alot of the problems in society have not yet been resolved. You dont have to have alot of capital to start farming for example. So many Africans have access to free ancestral lands that they can farm and make money from. But many want to spend time in the cities instead. A change of mindset is needed.

i was born in Montreal and i moved here 8yrs ago. Everything people hear or say about Toronto is a lie. Toronto is going downhill fast and the powers that be dont seem to care. I was born and raised in Toronto to Hungarian immigrants, and my whole neighborhood was of mixed immigrants, so I grew up early making friends of different races and nationalities. I don't dispute though that it does exist, I have seen it and heard it. I too have been the victim of racism, yes that's right, but because I am white and blonde, I get remarks mostly from men of different races, anywhere I go on the bus and in stores, there are men of some races who just stare at me with a look that makes me very uncomfortable, and I hear sexual remarks. The other thing that bothers me is that white people are often being blamed, but yet there are different races that hate each other, this I know because I have friends of different nationalities who hate others not like them. Some nationalities even think that I have never had spices in my food, and that I dont know how to paint a wall or use tools, there is so much I can say about this. I guess everybody should sit down and talk to each other, learn about each other.

The most depresssing factor of canada is it's weather...\nIntially i was not realizing it bt it just dawned on me that how important is sunlight for your body and also for your mental health especially in winters......yahan pe sirf 3 mahine hi suraj rehta hai..june july and August .... september se leke may mid tak.rarely you will get a glimpse of sunlight...\nI mean you wake-up every morming nd its always dark and gloomy outside from September end till april end....you dpnt feel like doing anything...especially in winter's you wake up at 9 o'clock and 4 oclock its dark.....you have no idea how much it effects your mental health...people get depressed mentally and also gets deficit of vitamin d...also government have legalized Marijuana and saying oh it will make your mind feel happy and you will not get stressed anymore...i mean how come...government is killing you softly..they dont want you to think higher..they want you to leave behind....i realized most of the people suffer from knee pain..joint pain bcoz they dont get enough sunlight ....\nI read somewhere that most of the suicide case happens inthe month of January bcoz this is the month when people get more depressed....i must say comparatively to canada india is the best place to stay ....you will get sunlight whole year... also in Toronto there is no such social life as india ...so much taxes by the government...houses are getting expensive.....all you r doing is just work , come home. I'm an engineer in the US atm on an H1B. I got it on my last go. I know what awaits me and for me there are more important things than money.
