After comparing the following from country to country: Women's reproductive rights. LGBTQ acceptance. Health Care. Gun violence. Overt racism. Criminal misconduct of politicians. Cleanliness of cities. Infrastructure degradation. To name a few. I have to admit Canada is the better choice. We (Canada) are not perfect and have to still work on making our country better for all who live in Canada. I am a 72 year old male and to this day I thank my lucky stars that both sets of my grandparents immigrated to Canada and not the USA. I also know that I am very fortunate to have lived my entire life here in Canada. I have travelled to many places outside of Canada and have always been well received by the people of those countries and appreciate the good reputation we (Canadians) have around the world.

He stated a couple of times that you need to be strategic in where you live in the US when speaking of gun violence. I could live anywhere in Canada and not worry about my kids. Also, what can you expect from a country that believes 1/3 pound is less than 1/4 pound. Don’t believe me? Ask A&W…they tried to sell Americans a 1/3 burger for the same price as McDonalds 1/4 burger and it flopped, Even though blind taste tests proved most people thought it was a better tasting burger. Maybe if you ( Americans) had adopted the metric system, you wouldn’t have that problem. America is on of only 3 countries in the world that still use the imperial system. The other 2 being Myanmar and Lydia.

With your gun culture, politics and health care system in no way would I ever move to the US. There are way to many mass shootings happening all over the US and I can't see your gun culture ever changing to lower and make it safer to live in most parts of the US. Our Canadian political system may not be perfect but it's WAY Better then the US, how in HELL can Donald ever be allowed to run again for President after what he has done and have people still support him ??? \nJust a little over 20 years ago I met and became good friends with a young woman while we were playing an MMORPG. We spent most of our free time playing different RPGs over the years together. Around 9 years ago she came down with some kind of a illness and thank goodness she had healthcare through her job. The thing is though the system couldn't/wouldn't identify what was causing her decline in health. She went through all kinds of tests but became sicker and sicker in years to come. She died in October of 2021 but before she died we both wondered if the health care system was just milking her insurance and not really taking proper care of her. BTW she lived in SLC Utah. Going back to your gun culture though she felt safe living in SLC the mall she went too had a mass shooting and she also carried a pistol in her purse. ( she had a permit ) I have never known any woman in Canada who felt that she needed to carry a gun in her purse for safety.

Just for fun of comparing our countries, since gun violence and violence is usually mentionned a lot I just looked at some weird stats. First of all, in Canada around 13% of the population own a gun and 22% of household at least have one gun compared to the US which 32% of the population own a gun and 44% of household at least have one gun. The other weird stats I looked, after finding that out, was the methods of homicides in Canada and the US. It's supposed to be stats by compiling the police repports and could be not completely accurate but it is still different how they are stated. For exemple in Canada in 2021 the number of victims by shooting 297, stabbing 242 and beating 130. For the US it's not by shooting, it starts with the victims by handgun 6012, then firearms which the type is not stated in the repport 4740, then knives and cutting instruments 1035, personal weapons (hands, fists, feet etc.) 461, then rifles 447, other guns 227 and shotguns 152. The scary thing about the US is even if Canada is 11.53% the population of the US, 11578 victims by shooting compared to 297 seems a lot. To have the same rate of violence as the US our victims by shooting in Canada would have had to be 1004. Which means in 2021 there was 71% less homicide by shooting in Canada compared to the US. Another thing I found, I live in the second largest city of Canada, it's not the 2nd but the 27th most dangerous city in Canada and if we consider only the cities which have a population of more than 1million, it's actually the 3rd safest city of Canada. So yeah I'll stay in Canada, even though I live in sin city it's still safer, there's a better health care system and we have a good multicultural diversity. Sorry for the long text, it's 4am and I write as much as I talk, which is a lot when I'm tired.

I don't know if you know this Tyler but America just hit its final hour, 250 years is the expiration date for empires and your United States just hit that mark. Plus have you seen the way Canadians have socialized systems that give us a high quality of life. Our current government is still capitalist but I currently can't be kicked out by federal mandate if I keep paying rent, the liberals have put this provision in place because the housing market is out of control. He's facing the same issues Biden is facing, the Koch brothers and Peter Thiel are pumping out propogada like transphobia, climate change, trickle down economics and poisoning the left by buying up publications with there infinite dark money.\n\n56 billion was spent last year on influence alone, That means 100,000 Americans saving ALL their money for 10 years would just match Koch influence powers they have in 1 year. \n\nYour housing market was destroyed by the Koch Brothers, they destroyed our water supplies up north fracking bitumen out of the land. \n\nThen when Koch wanted to leave the oil sands they made a propoganda piece pointing the blame at Trudeau.\n\nSo ya, no one wants to go to he country Koch brothers already control 100% were being fought over by Peter thiel who isn't any better.

About 25 years ago I would have been happy to move to the U.S. It looked my current job was about to end, and I had a skill set that matched what a lot of employers in the U.S. were looking for. Unfortunately U.S. immigration laws made that extremely difficult. Now I'm retired, and I would still like to move to the U.S., except for the fact that I would have no health insurance down there, and health care costs in the U.S. are the highest in the world. It's true that you do need a gun down there though, and you'd better be trained in how to use it.

Don't take any of this to heart... remember that in Canada our Nightly News includes the US and the rest of the world ... good and bad .As a kid we travelled the States for 30 days every summer. We never encountered any problems except for racism. I remember we went to Wendy's for lunch we never had one in Canada back then. Despite that experience the States has so much to offer even today. Now as an adult my concern would be Healthcare and violence. Canadians who say that they'd never move to the USA fall into these groups:\n\nA) Ignorant: People who get their news about the USA from the CBC or any of the other MSM FAKE NEWS outlets.\n\nB) Leftists/Liberals: People who would only ever move to Leftist/Liberal havens, such as New York, California or Washington; and they're aware of how those states are extremely dangerous, with violent crime on the rise, extremely high taxes and fascist governments that make Trudeau look good.\n\nC) The Elderly: Unfortunately, most elderly people in Canada are on a fixed income; and the meager healthcare they're allowed to receive is still far better than anything they can afford in the USA.\n\nI'd consider moving to a number of states in the USA. When you talk about Healthcare your analysis is solely based on Personal income tax. This is utterly disingenuous, because all working individuals pay taxes in Canada and that money goes into paying for not just health care but many constructs that govt. of a modern society must pay to ensure Canada remains competitive. Out healthcare system is struggling but it's still way better than the American system.

This is happening all over the world… I’m also African American . I’ve be going through the worst disrespect dealing with these white peoples in the predominantly white neighborhoods. My husband is from Canada. We are black. We still know many people living in Canada. We are both black. I must say that its 10 times better in Canada than the US so I'm not sure that this is categorically true. Racisim is everywhere but overall its waaaaaay better than the US. I will admit that we mostly know about Toronto and Montreal so those are diverse cities.

The UK is pretty much like Canada, now. There is only room for the 5% who are rich (the capitalists & rentiers) and the 35% of people on Benefits (the 35% of population who live off welfare paid for by the State using the hard-working tax payer's money). The honest, hard-working middle-class (about 50 to 60% of society) are absolutely screwed and doomed, because all they can now do is keep working their guts out till they drop dead, and never hope to have a decent life. The culture of state-funded Welfare has now gotten so bad that I now live in a street where some 30% of the people who live off Welfare have been given State funded houses, and those houses which are bigger and better than mine (all paid for using my tax money). And I have slogged my entire life (I am 65 now) to pay off a large mortgage on a house that eventually has lower value than the houses that people on Welfare are given on the same Street! Worse still, now that I am approaching the stage where I might need to go into a Care Home, my house (which I worked for my entire life to attain) will have to be sold off to pay for my Care Home costs. While my neighbours who never worked a single day in their life (and whose life was subsidized using my tax money) will again get free state-funded Care Home facility too! It utterly beggars belief. \n\nWhen state-funded Welfare gets to a point that doing an honest day's work actually penalizes you, because all you are doing is funding the lifestyles of the other half of society who wish to sponge off State Welfare (due to the high taxes the Government is forced to impose on the working middle-class to support the 35% on State benefits), then that society can never prosper, firstly because it removes the motivation to work hard, and secondly because some day the Government will run out of money to continuing funding the lavish lifestyles of people on State Welfare. And that is very much now the state of affairs in countries like Canada, the UK, and much of EU. It is an unsustainable model. \n\nBy contrast, in countries like the US, China, India, etc. there is a much greater correlation between hard work and reward. Choosing to not go to work and sponging off Governmental welfare is simply not an option. And that is precisely why countries like these will continue to prosper in the coming years - because they have some form of Meritocracy. Unfortunately, I think countries like the UK, Canada, and most western EU countries are looking at a downward spiral, and there are no easy solutions, because their Welfare model has already created these huge segments of society which depend on it and will not allow it to be demolished - but the day is fast approaching where they will all soon run out of money to continue funding it (most of these countries are already facing huge Debt-GDP ratios, and there is no conceivable way of them coming out of it).

All of these points are subjective. I think the point system you used and the subjects you talked about are biased. I would have given the USA a point for innovation and job opportunity. There is more opportunities, because more companies choose the USA. We have a higher population so even thought there is more job opportunities in the USA, it is also very competitive. Your video gave a point to Canada for vacation and maternity leave rather than innovation and job opportunities. A lawyer in the USA has a better chance of practicing law than a Canadian lawyer. You gave a point to Canada for healthcare because of life expectancy. However I’d still give a point to the USA for healthcare. The life expectancy is a separate subject. The life expectancy is lower in the USA because of what we eat here. I would give a point to Canada for healthier food. In the USA fatty diet with sugary sweets is common here.\n\nThe video was really pros and cons for liberals. As an American, I could make a list that is biased towards the USA. Some are trying to reunite with family, some are fleeing poverty and feel America is the best place to come up but it's those that are fleeing violence that concern me. We can't take on the world in one nation only to have some immigrants globally thumb their noses up at our traditions, rights we had to fight for, housing we need etc. The sad fact is running to America isn't the Answer. We fight the Middle East who will never change but we need to turn our attention to Mexico, the island nations and South America. It doesn't matter if people who won't change are overwhelming our nation. The violence you escape still comes here. It's getting to the point of entitlement. I've known immigrants who had to pay out-of-state fees while living in America until they could gain a visa but those from the south refute this and demand in state tuition or the same rights as those who took classes and became legal citizens the right way. So much violence from gangs and the cartel but we can't help by just opening the borders. It's time the South changed and took out the gangs and cartel for good to make a better life . Moreover, greedy leaders need to be taken out if necessary so these people can have a better future. The south and certain islands can't really say America should mind its business because these invasions are our business. When we are flooded with ethnic groups of people it becomes America's business nationwide.

I'm FBA and I grew up in Toronto from the 60's until today and I can testify to what this sister is saying! In addition, over the years there are very few black Canadians from the Underground Railroad or decendants of slavery in Canada still in Ontario area and more black immigrants from the Caribbean and African Diaspora that walk off the boat with disdain for FBA! Most of these black immigrants that I grew up with think they are better than FBA and play right into white supremacy with bigotry, discrimination and disrespect. So, I have reestablished my roots in America, but I draw my pension, from 30 years of social service work and my free healthcare in Canada! Oh my goodness...Canada seems to have run out of red carpets...Canada has problems. It has racism. It has sexism, yet with only high school four of my sisters became bank management and executives...and we have a blue-collar mixed-race heritage. But despite that Canada has a tiny tiny economy compared to its immediate neighbour and still delivers an impressively comparable lifestyle...plus a health care system that struggles to find a way to be universal in our post-pandemic world...that actually saved my American-immigrant husband's life. If you can understand the sheer competitiveness of trying to get a job in this marketplace then you might understand that despite Canada's best efforts it's not the land of Oz. If other countries are better sorted and have your dream jobs waiting by all means have that good life where you can. If you want to work towards building a future in a relatively safe and free nation...and that will mean taking part in ironing out age old problems...maybe Canada is for you.

You forgot 1 major point-\nAt least here in Canada, we don't have to live in fear of gun violence. We don't send our children only for them to be massacred in their schools. Title is misleading, you only lived in Vancouver and you're talking about the whole country already. And you're perception with other countries maybe it's just because you're in another developed country/region, isn't the same with the whole world. Coming from a third world country, Canada and definitely European countries would still be better than where I came from. But good thing for you bro.

Canada is well represented around the world. But you don't really know someone until you live with them. This country basically shuts down for at least 4 months a year during the winter. Sure people still do stuff but any Canadian can agree that winter, compared to the other seasons is night and day. \n\nIt sells itself well in real estate especially with foreign investors but deep down nobody really wants to live here Jan-April. \n\nPersonally I moved to the states cause I'm in a field that presented better opportunities, better pay, better quality of life year round, cheaper life in general without huge taxes.\n\nThat's the trade off, either work more and not deal with winters or deal with winter and get some support for not working as much.

Canada is basically another state of US at this point. Canada has independent domestic policies just like any US state but foregin policis are Washington lead. Canada has great educational instuation just like many other US state but ultimately, the graduates leave for better states in the US to get better pay. Almost all export of Canada is to US and almost all import are from same US suppliers from Asia. Some will say Canada is very different from US in the way people act and live their life. That is true but even inside US, California is very different from Texas and New York is very different from Iowa. Just goes to show different states have different lifestyle but are still part of the same country.\nThis is not a bad thing, in fact Canada is lucky to have access to the biggest market of the world. Being under US security umberlla means no one will attack you. Canada's government know this so they made policies that lead to integration with US economical and defence system.

Having lived in the US for years before moving to Canada ,I must say that Canada remains & its still better than the US . Of course everyone sure needs peace of mind , adequate security & safety for the whole family . Not guns flying here & there like a movie scene . \nThe only exception I have with living in Canada is the crazy tax rate on goods & services . I moved to Canada from the US a few years ago. I lived in the US for over 30 year and the US government is a JOKE. Congress never got anything done regardless on what party is in office. If you're gay or trans I wouldn't move to the US because it's been very dangerous for that community especially in red states. The US still can't get better gun control to stop all of the mass school shootings yet and they think TikTok is the main threat right now. You can see where their priorities are. You can tell I moved to Canada due to political reasons lol Sure the cost of living in Canada are higher and I had to get adjusted to colder weather, but it was the best thing I ever did and I would NEVER move back to the US any time soon.

Even if you get a job you still get access to all the services provided within for subsidization, etc. Government transit passes, subsidized housing, carbon tax funding, food bank access where if you have a family you get way better food than single folks (cakes etc.), lots of child support, credit to attend community centers (swimming pool, etc.), paid tuition and the list goes on.
