I have a place right on the border and 8 months ago I caught a young East Indian who already had several felony in the states and had been shipped back to India in previous years. How the heck did that man get a student visa to come to Canada. There are 50,000 East Indian Students missing in Canada who simply used the visa to get into Canada and run the border. This is what we’re are dealing with. I live on the border and I’ve never seen this much traffic. Border guards are simply picking their targets and having to ignore others. The problem is the US runs a deficit of 6% and piles up public debt although unemployment is extremely low , so instead of raising income tax or other social security contributions, the new administration tries to get money from tariffs, it will work like an increase of VAT . Cutting expenditure and increasing income to finance the federal budget through tariffs is another way to reduce deficits. The price however is to loose a lot of partners and the status of a super power.

I think a lot of people assume that countries like Canada aren't capitalist behemoths like the U.S. because we can't be - but it's because we don't WANT to be. Largely, the population wants to succeed by ways that don't make everyone else suffer, because a rising tide raises all boats. \nSoon, the wealthy American will have to reckon with the fact that a desperate and underemployed, oppressed, poverty-imposed public costs more in the long run.
