Where do the Indigenous people or First Nation go as part of this exodus ?

In the past 2 years - I have spent 3 months in Toronto, and last year, 3 months in Montreal...and it is like the Tale of Two Cities! In Toronto, I stayed at a friend's off the park that abuts Queens St, and Dundas St. on the far side. I barely got a good night's sleep - from the constant wailing of Sirens at ALL Hours of the night/early morning! I witnessed several incidents of random violence - including on the trolly cars, and many of them involving homeless Indigenous people ...who were historically shit-on by Canada! In comparison to US Cities - Toronto minded me of problem-plagued SF, Seattle, and Portland. The Density factor reminded me of NYC, minus the Positive Street savvy that New Yorkers have in spades! I did meet some very nice people, but overall - Torontonians were uptight, concerned about money all the time, and sometimes - just downright rude! Fast-Forward to Montreal. I stayed in Le Plateau...renting a room for 3 months. Lovely House-mates - One Turkish/Polish Woman, and an Iranian Man - both were quirky, and Delightful! My rent was very decent, and my Host showed me all the affordable places to eat, swim for free, free Yoga in the parks...within 2 days, I felt at Home! It was 3 days before I even noticed a siren! Drivers stoped for pedestrians, and as it was summer - the bike-lanes were full of bike riders! The Green Spaces were plentiful, and Parc Mount Royal is a Terrestrial Paradise! Were there some social issues? - of Course! French being the official language, the Quebecois are a VERY Proud, and defiant lot! That was difficult at first, and then...learning some history of Quebec, you begin to understand their irascible defenses! There was some homelessness (a Fraction of what I see in the US, and Toronto!), and prices are creeping-up (the common complaint!), and there was a lot of construction, and road repairs - as Quebec is NOT a wealthy part of Canada, overall. In short - I miss Montreal DEEPLY! Toronto? - I have a good friend there, and I hope to see a few of the folks I met there, Again. Travel Impressions are mainly subjective, but I know where my heart, and affection lie!

I Love when Canadians and American are calling other people immigrants when they themselves are the also the immigrants. These lands were indigenous lands that where stolen from them, they even built schools over top of their bodies, yet they say this is their land. From an Arab / Canadian born and raised here this is truly sad. This country is literally built with all kinds of different nationalities and would be nothing without them all! These comments are truly sad. Wishing you the best on your journey and future endeavors!

Give it time and will sharia be allowed in certain areas? the breaking down of our British culture, what a disaster this is for our indigenous culture, freedom and human rights. Who enabled all this though, who enabled so many into the UK?

Why don't the west take in the Israelis? They are indigenous to Europe

Taking Palestinian refugees has been tried before. It doesn’t work. Wherever they go they want to destroy and disrupt the indigenous people. It was tried in Jordan and Egypt and caused problems for the Jordanians and the Egyptians.

Unfortunately, we in the Eu will now be getting the flood, and it will spell the end of our indigenous culture.

Stop spreading your WOKE propaganda - racism my a$$....Its called meritocracy! .Not one grave of native children have been found and no one wants to excavate the sites...How did indigenous people mark their own graves? Educate yourself before spreading that WOKE bs!

Lemme lay it pretty bare as a Canadian myself… approximately 1/8 individuals (or on family scale roughly 1/5) suffers from food insecurity. That number can double when ya go farther north or into Indigenous communities thanks to food deserts…. A rich nation where more than 10% of people have to worry about something as basic as dinner day to day… if that isn’t a warning sign of a sinking ship I have no idea what is…\nOh and our housing issue is totally a cost/accessibility issue and not a shortage. There is about 3 empty residential homes/apartments per every single unhoused person living rough outside…and if we account for shelter homeless (ie those couch surfing or otherwise under a roof without a fixed residence) the rate of unhoused triples…

Live in an indigenous native killer country Canada ? Ridiculous
|
| 2024-01-20 | 0 |
This country needs skilled immigrants who are going to positively contribute to the well being of the country not the open borders that we presently have. Any economic migrants who turn up at our borders and airports should be immediately turned around and sent back to apply through legal channels not taken to the nearest hotels and financed at the taxpayers expense. Once upon a time a person wanting to come here had to have a job lined up and a bank account before they were considered. The international students plan is rediculous and out of hand. Our own indigenous population and homeless should be at the front of the line before any others are considered.

Why is this allowed to happen? Canadians should tell the government to stop this, its to many people!\n\nGet rid of the upper hand the government gives all non Caucasian and indigenous first access to all jobs and make it equal for everyone there is no need for this policy.\n\nForgeign and indigenous students have better access to education because the average canadian can no longer afford these tuitions.
|
| 2024-01-19 | 0 |
I teach in post secondary and the international students pay double the tuition. Add in living expenses and you have your answer as to why it is happening. We save a percentage of seats for domestic and indigenous students. Post secondary institutions would not be able to operate without the international students.

As an Indigenous person in Canada I agree with you 100%. Living here my whole life I am more then aware of the racism and colonial government policies. I have tried my best to study the history of Palistine and it saddens me and frustrates me that Canada supports the genocide in Gaza. I'm not surprised thou.

I'm sure that the indigenous population, are happy when non indigenous people leave.

As a PROUD Mi'kmaq Metis Canadian....You made your voice ON STOLEN LAND, you want special treatments the indigenous Canadians don't even have....you want to ? off about stolen land half way around the world YET oblivious to the fact YOU ARE ON STOLEN LAND....yikes. enjoy, don't let the door hit you on the way out. I seen on twitter thousands of Canadians willing to drive you to the airport. Maybe one day you'll recognize how narcissistic your complaints true are ?

Better be in our indigenous people on our own ancestrs land and make it prosperous again...obviously struggle will be there but thats the only solution...i found the globalization bit dangerous .....

This looks like what we did to the Indigenous People living Canada and America, at that time settlers were given free land and today what do these immigrants get.....? that is the big question we need to find the answer too....

Fight this ‘muslim patrol’ until they’re gone! These muslims have no business at all pushing their satanic ideology on the indigenous English people!\nAdapt to the Western culture or just leave!!
|
| 2023-12-27 | 0 |
Why don’t they go and live in a sharia country and stop trying to impose an unauthorised laws on the indigenous English humans.
|
| 2023-12-26 | 0 |
The reason why the Canadian government isn't building new homes is for the same reason that other countries in the West aren't either ...they expect the indigenous peoples to die out by 2027 which will leave plenty of room for the replacement population....

AS AN INDIGENOUS AMERICAN I SAY, DO NOT BRING YOUR RACIST ILK TO THE UNITED STATES! DO NOT COME HERE!
|
| 2023-12-25 | 0 |
Why use the term 'whites' why not 'native' or even 'indigenous'. That would cover the humans whose home it has been for millenia. All humans are from one family. There is no race, only beliefs and values differ. The people upholding the values of Britain should have the say in their own land. Others should go to nations with compatible beliefs.

I temember a documentary in the 90s interviewing residents in gaza and palestine in general , most claimed they moved there from surrounding countries due to fear of the regimes and the threat of arrest or worse for their conduct , most residents are not indigenous, 2nd generation settlers , other arab countries view it as a sanctuary for lawbreakers , they dont want them back , even the best known palestine spokesman , yassar arafat was an egyptian

I took Canada off my list when I started looking into the social problems there and made a few Canadian friends online. We all want to leave Turtle Island (and we're all Indigenous so...says a lot). \n\nSeeing how Canada and other commonwealth nations treat immigrants with disabilities, calculate human value as a transactional contribution or deduction and the negative behavior towards trans people recently? They're ALL off my list and I have family in most of them.\n\nAmerica is worse tho and I was born here.

Such bs. They had a state they started a war. They were offered a state again and again with East Jerusalem for a capital but they rejected it again and again.. and stop this indigenous bs… Israel not going anywhere. \nPS. No Arab state want Palestinians anymore because they bring with them extremism just ask Jordan, Egypt or Lebanon.

As a Canadian I can tell you, if you are an everyday Canadian the government doesn't care. If you are indigestion they will say they care but do nothing, the government would rather change a street sign in toronto for 13 million, then give the largest indigenous community in canada nothing for clean water. The city of Prince Rupert BC is a city of 13 thousand people, and it has high amounts of lead in its drinking water, it's also mostly indigenous surprise surprise.

ethics didnt really matter , you being treated equally would prve that baeement maker. ethically they cant prove theyre for nothing n would be better off to reform many ways, they already made you dumber then Canada's hoodlum prpblem and assholes who thought they mattered through out. we're still telling them has intended how great life is n that we'll live . we have wared our childrens species with no value loss of opposition to our species dying swearing lifes still just to great indigenous then their mothers inbred slot.

I thought she was going to say why don't all the arab States come together and put a stop to israls genocide of the Palestinians with their military forces. No instead why don't you take these poor ppl indigenous of the region so the butchers of the middle East can steal their land more easily. What audacity these reporters have, they are completely without integrity and decency, absolutely shameful.

What precedence would be set if a whole nation is killed or uprooted and scattered about due to imperialist arrogance? It is the same mentality that wiped out indigenous people across Earth and transported people across the Atlantic for economic gains. It is the same arrogant spirit operating here. Love for every human on this Earth.

Exactly Saudi - please all imagine getting told to leave your own lands - no indigenous people should leave their land. Always Palestine
|
| 2023-12-12 | 0 |
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud’s most befitting answer to the foreign journalist on the indigenous rights of the Palestinian people is great, really very good rebuttal. This policy is cornerstone of the Saudi foreign policy which has the vision of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman…..

That's right! the question of taking the indigenous as refugees is Outrageous !! Free the people of the occupation i.e. the oppressor.
|

The Western colonialist leaders won't understand this because they are used to killing the indigenous, occupying their land and stealing their wealth.

I'm an Indigenous Canadian and I don't want to live here. Canada is a good place to live for rich people though. If you come from a poor family it truly sucks. Can't wait to finish university and move out of here. ?

As an Indigenous person (Anishinaabe), it's been a real mixed bag. It's been great that we generally have more visibility in media, and the federal government has listened to more of our requests than in years past, and healthcare costs and education gets covered quite a bit. That being said, a lot of Indigenous folks are poor and will very likely stay that way. If middle-class people are facing financial struggle, then it's even worse for us.\n\nIMO, as things get tight, what'll begin happening is what happens on reserves -- families will cram themselves into houses. Adult children living with their parents, young couples living with parents, and single adults having 2+ roommates well into their 30s, 2 people per bedroom.\n\nPlease though, advocate for more housing to your local government. Don't be a f'kin NIMBY. We need homes, multi-unit and single, rentals and ones to own.

Speak english... \nSo let's ignore the indigenous languages and the french language that were in canada before english?

On my way to work this week, I was stopped at least 7 times by new immigrants \nwith a suitcase on wheels looking for a foodbank but could not speak a lick of \nEnglish. (They were lucky I could understand bits of their Mexican / Spanish)\n\nThey aren't my problem. They are Trudeau's problem. I never invited them here.\nI'm just glad I opened up my own business years ago and became successful \nbecause Trudeau's Canada has all the Govt jobs reserved for indigenous, black,\nlgbtq and other exclusive liberal groups. \n\nIf he can't even give jobs to those 'special groups' which I'm not a part of, then \nthey aren't my problem. I had to go get mine so go get yours.
