I am born and raised in NYC. In Queens many businesses are now suffering with lack of staff and the owners or their family members are now doing the work they’ve been paying immigrants that don’t have their paperwork together to do. It is sad so many people trying to start over and get treated poorly! As a community member it is also annoying having to wait much longer for food or the quality of atmosphere lacking now etc I know something needed to be done in regards to the immigration issue but at the same time it sucks to realize just how many people were being taken advantage of in ALL the local businesses smh. It is definitely a catch 22!

I am a white Canadian have family and friends in the USA and I tried to move to the usa back in the early 2000's because I had a job could not do it because I was not allowed but it seems if you are other then white it is so much easier and everyone said I should go now because Trudeau is a dictator and that I am a law abiding Conservative that wants to leave Canada because our PM is nothing but a POS Liberal that is robbing the hard working real Canadians and cutting us off of having a good job because of DEI. This was always going to occur. Shut down the southern border and people will try to get in through the north. As I understand it, we don't have the same deportation laws with Canada as we do with Mexico. This needs to be dealt with and Canada needs to step up. I live in a norther border state and my younger brother died of fentanyl. I am fed up with it. Iam from northern Vermont . It is a really bad idea to try to cross the boarder in the dead of winter unless you are prepared to camp out and know how to survive in extremely cold weather.

You know how you fix the problem. Anybody harboring in any way or helping in any way should be put in jail for a minimum of 3 months instead of putting the criminal in jail or the illegal, you send them back to Canada. Or Mexico or wherever they came from and the person that tried to help them has to pay by sitting in jail for 3 months or longer. A second offense, 5 years, a third offense life. They'll stop helping at that point

It is actually very easy to keep the border closed in the north. Outside of roads, crossing the northern border is not going to be fun. You have the St Lawrence, the Great Lakes, Forests that are no fun to try and cross, the badlands then mountains. And all of that is in the summer, the winter it would be near suicide as is being shown. Spring and Fall you get rain so it becomes much harder to cross.

Please....Canadian borders account for less than 1% of the total people trying to get into the US. Over 99% come across the southern border. This is official accounting. Fox News is not a good source for this information. You make it sound like Canada had nothing in place until Trump came along and thousands of people are coming through Canada.

Been to USA and was terrified of getting sick or hurt the whole time I was there. Our healthcare is free. Everyone possibly carrying guns was a scary thought also. When I was 19 I went to ft lauderdale, scary as youth were falling off balconies from drunkenness and I got accosted (attempted recruitment). by I don’t know how many pimps. Someone tried to spike my drink at a bar; got my purse stolen with all my id. It was just one thing after another. It got scary and I couldn’t wait to leave. Everyone was playing a game.

Any sympathy I once had is gone now. Seeing them try to force their way in and that father with his baby on his shoulders participating, is too much for me. I have been watching ICE videos and while some appear quite sympathetic, you usually find out they are coyotes or have criminal charges. The media is putting videos of crying children saying “I love you Mama” and then you briefly see on the screen she was a criminal with 3 major drug charges.

For anyone feeling empathy for the people trying to force their way into our country, I can understand that, intellectually, but imagine this was your individual HOME. Imagine a family of 5, who you have never met before, shows up at your door and just pushes their way in, with every intent on staying there for the rest of their lives. No, that is not how immigration, or house guests, works.
