Can you Canadians maybe ask your King to have his other countries put tariffs on us down here in the US? What's the point of having one if you don't ask him for a little help when bad guys come after you. My country needs to learn a lesson and the faster it happens, the less pain there is for everyone.

If Canada had created pipelines to Vancouver they would be in a better position but as it is Trump wins.

I was never a fan of Trudeau, but compared to Trump he is a breath of fresh air. Give it 3 years and 10 months and Americans will be back to sanity. Don't know if America will be in one piece though. Its time for Canada to get up, diversify its resources, invest in Tech companies massively. Ok I need some help understanding this. If it’s a dumb idea for the US then why isn’t it a dumb idea for Canada too? As I understand it, the US tariffs mean things imported from Canada get a few slapped on top and that is paid by Americans, to discourage them from buying Canadians things. Why wouldn’t Canada continue importing US things as before and not put extra fees on top, so they don’t have to find new suppliers and cause disruption? Then it is just America punching itself in the face not both of them.

Counter tariffs aren't enough. Total embargo on all resource exports. They only have enough reserves to last a few months without massive shortages and price hikes. Then, when they cabe, we charge them triple to recoup losses. Canadian companies need to do their part, even if it hurts the bottom line.

As a Canadian I’m still not clear on how counter tariffs help Canadians? Won’t this just make things more expensive for us? Shouldn’t we just realign our allies for imports/exports?
