It' the MAGA mentality. In Canada over the last 2 1/2 years Pierre Poilievre has been blaming Trudeau for everything. Just like Trump blamed Biden/Harris for everything. But especially for immigration. Poilievre and Trump have blamed immigration for job loss, housing shortage, healthcare inefficiency, crime, urban decay. Poilievre and Trump don't try to differentiate between refugees/asylum seekers and legitimate immigrants. Canada's birth rate has been falling every year since the 1960s. Canada needs immigrants. Both the Conservative and Liberal governments supported immigration in the past. Poilievre is using immigrants to rile up the racists and the ignorant, for his own political gain.

I am Canadian. Indian students coming here and demanding PR and to bring all their family. NO. I do not work all my life and pay high taxes to support your grandparents!! I can't even afford to have one child because a good life is expensive but you can have babies and not pay for them? And stop SCAMMING everyone. Not a good look. Social media has ruined a lot of things. People do things they never used to before. We Indian lack civil sense, and lets not forget the rivalry between, north south, different religions, and separatist movements, they bring problems along with them to places they migrate to. Sense of cleanliness is not there, issue is, we don't teach kids how to clean up after themselves, especially, boys. Illegal immigration and creation of ghettos is another reason we are disliked.

A lot of Indians treat white people really badly. Especially when there is money involved. It’s now extremely common that people here hate dealing with Indians as customers of their business and will go as far as avoid it altogether. They will often relentlessly try to negotiate services, lie and say anything to get get their way, pester businesses until they cave to their demands and even leave bad reviews which they say they will change if you give them a good deal. None of this is the way things are done in Canada and that needs to be respected. Something kind of funny, I’ve heard many people say that Indians will often say they will refer tons of friends and family to a business if you give them an unreasonable discount (which they never do once they’ve gotten what they want), but what they don’t realize is that referring a bunch more Indians to them is the last thing that business wants. And really, some of the discounts they want on things are just ridiculous. When I was selling my car a few years ago, I had it listed for $55,000 and I got bombarded by Indians offering $20,000-$25,000 and every lie under the sun of why that’s all it was worth, other people are saying yes to offers like that for the same car, dealerships are selling them for that much and so on. Like come on. And I guess while I’m at it, I hate to say but it’s a common thing here to walk into a gas station and the smell of body odour just hits you like a brick. I’ve stopped going to 3 different stations because of it. I’m sure there’s some pungent white people out there but damn. This is on a whole other level. It literally fills the entire building.

You must see the atrocities by some Indians in a flight, especially long haul flights. I feel bad for the flight attendants.

Coming from an Indian who has worked in overseas for the last 10 years - I hate to see Indian tourists with their noisy behaviour , bad manners & indecent attitude towards women (especially those from north & east India)- Like someone pointed out Indian government should step in give some basic training to Indians travelling abroad.and ban those who misbehave overseas- for pointers just see the video of Indians tourists bad behaviour aboard a Thai airlines flight

They don’t care about Canada but come here and force us to adapt while we’re in a housing and economic crisis and overpopulated and just finished lockdowns and layoffs and are being a gaslit into thinking we’re racist for seeing only one culture in our own country. it’s quite something especially for us who are still struggling to pay bills and make any money and have any joy in life seeing people come and claim victimhood in a place they just got too on purpose is quite appalling. India has to be careful not to get caught in its echo chambers. Large number of illegals in west are of Indian origin especially US and Canada. It's a stupid report, obviously the visa rejection will be high if the visa applications are high from a most populated country in the world it's basic common sense , i would say India have the highest visa grant these days, I'm from India came to Australia it's not ecen harf if u have the right documents and if you're not faking anything, I'm pretty sure the rejections are mostly because of fake documents especially from Punjab and Haryana so it's good that they are not letting fake people i mean then what's the point of doing all this right way? The way to travel around would be to become refugee.\n\nCanada, uk, europe take lakhs of refugees every year without even security check, but if common , hard working person wants to go to destination especially through proper channel, they have to give evidence of educational background, financial statements, clear TOEFL, gre exams etc. , fill tedious forms, stand in long queues out of their embassies. I worked in India for 6 years and then shifted abroad for a Masters, and now I am pursuing a fully funded PhD. In the UK, what I have observed is that the crop of students arriving from India are by the day lesser inclined towards studies and more in pursuit of the quick buck. Yes, getting a ‘UK based work experience’ is necessary to build the edge to compete against the wider international students post graduation and I have myself worked part-time in profiles which complimented my course in parallel to prioritising studies. However, the increasing trend amongst the masses (I do not want to generalise but yes this is unfortunately true and especially from certain states, the case is magnified: Read Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana) remains getting that student visa to earn quick buck to support themselves financially, chiefly, save up to dole out to so called ‘assignment writers’ which helps them pass the course to further graduate and transfer to a grad visa (again comes at a cost) which allows them 2 years worth of stay with no working hour stipulation post graduation. Thereon, work full time in laborious jobs with again not focussing on applying to full time opportunities in the field of study. Thus, what remains at the end of the day is lost time and opportunity and since I am only talking of people who come here on a Student VISA so primarily, the opportunity cost lost to upskill and further horizons. For the country’s perspective, getting cheap, skilled labour for an unskilled job is obviously an advantage but then there are cases of students not respecting their working hour restrictions, vandalising, bickering loudly, joining hands with the already operating extremist forces which instigate violence and hatred etc. In all, I think the resistance to not becoming bicultural which is a product of serious mental and physical toil and wasting time in frivolity is the main cause of the anti-immigration wave.

Dear Palki and Firstpost channel, I appreciate this post but maybe if possible could you pls make a post/report on why some Indians are desperate to leave and most importantly the behaviour of some of our countrymen in foreign lands which gives a bad repute and leaves a bitter taste about our country in foreign lands? Shouldn't these ppl be held accountable too, especially when they are fortunate enough to have the means to visit foreign lands? I have seen first hand the way some of our ppl behave and try to twist and manipulate everything to their benefit, lacking basic respect.

I think the rabid immigration should stop as it will damage Indias reputation even more especially with the quality of people who are going abroad. The countries who give them visas are fully aware that there are universities that earn them forex but this could be really damaging to their countries. What happened in Canada is of course an extreme case and other countries can probably learn from it \n\nAlso India should restrict exit and not give out loans to people who do not intend to return. That will also help curb some of the illegal exits.

The rejection rate is increasing as we Indian are going out at a pace which is greater than any of the given country especially if we compare ourselves with China. Second is the civic sense, we have little to no civic sense when we cant keep our own country clean. Third is the general sentiment in the host country, as we are highly skilled and take most of jobs, western people with their inferiority complex cant handle it hence ranking India in the 85th Position.

The Central Govt should tell foreign embassies especially Western ones with steep visa fees that they can only charge the fee after the person receives the visa. If his application is rejected he pays zero. Charging steep visa fees and rejecting is equivalent to scamming people. Either you tell the person beforehand he won't receive visa. Also visa fees must be reduced as they are much higher in India than most countries.

Be careful with Canada and New Zealand, especially with student visas, they only want your visa fees, the rejection rate is higher than 60%. As these countries are 'no man's land, because it is invaded and colonized by Europeans, at least they must refund the visa fees, once rejected...

It is not about being under UN sanctions or under military rule. Many Indian visa applications (especially for student visas) are supported by fake documents. Many try to emigrate by hook or by crook especially to the US or Canada via other countries. And the less said about the behaviour of Indian tourists abroad the better. Dishonesty, cheating and so on may be a way of life in India but other countries still value decency and civic sense.

You seemed to have conveniently missed a few more main points. We, Indians, put ourselves down.\n\nThey are;\n1) Out of 100 Indiands traveled abroad either for tourism or business, only 50 returns home, and the rest try to find jobs to live there.\n\n2) Many Indians forge documents or produce fake documents to get visas.\n\n3) Where the Indians go, they bring pan and pan parag items and spit sll over the place, especially the North Indians. South Indians are much better.\n\n4) We, Indians, can go any lower to get a job abroad at low pay. So, we put our own grades down.\n\nThere are numerous examples I know of. Let me cite a few below.\n\n1) In one of the Western countries, a few years ago, a real Punjabi brother and sister who staged fake a marriage, got a marriage certificate, and other documents only to migrate there. The government eventually found put and deported them.\n\n2) Canada deported a few hundred Gujarati students when the US border security found them not speaking in English. On investigation, it was found that they all came with fake IELTS certificate.\n\nThere are many incidents we get to witness the day after the day. So, we can't blame other countries. It's us who made us very cheap in the international market. Because of those Indians, the entire innocent, honest, and talented Indians community is affected.

Saw one video from Germany and I myself was shocked by looking at the behaviour of Indians. People from North India and Andhra especially need to learn and need serious training on these lessons.

Indians are peddled this dream that everything outside is a heaven since early childhood. They see pictures of skyscrapers in Manhattan, London and Frankfurt and think everyone is living like that outside. These people are further brainwashed by immigration agencies and disguised human traffickers to put lakhs or even crores on the line for just going outside. They sell their lands, properties and other assets just to be able to go out pursuing a misleading dream.\n\nThis is a problem especially in states like Punjab, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra and Kerala, where most of the people still believe that it's better living outside than inside. These are not people who don't have anything in India but rather well-to-do families that have homes and assets and families in the country. \n\nThen comes the added Western bias and negative media image through propaganda. \n\nIndia has much work to do - if the country keeps complaining, nothing will get done.

I am an Indian living in New Zealand, actually one of the biggest reason is the Visa scams Indians do especially from few states which has caused this issue. Also, the kind of people coming into the country, their no sense of comprehension towards the Local laws, culture and traditions.

It’s the fault of Indians , most of them breach the conditions of their visas especially students from Punjab who take unfair advantage here in the U.K. They work for more than 20 hrs which is allowed under student visa. It’s your duty to study only rather than working some shit job. Deliveroo and other food delivery apps also get plenty of of Indians who are students so do not blame the prime minister or foreign countries , teach your children how to behave properly.

Why is india not asking for visas to enter the country? Especially from developed countries like UK, EU, US. India should atleast ask for tourist tax from foreigners. Many EU countries impose tourist tax from tourists. Today we see many foreigners making youtube videos of Indians to make money. Pay tax for the money earned in India

It is about demand/supply, per capita income, general level of education/behavior, and past experience with visitors - especially the risk of undocumented immigrants. Indians are too keen to visit other countries - but those countries do not view this as a good thing in terms of cost/benefit. 5th largest economy holds much less water than a mid-level per capita income - when we are talking about individual citizens.

Now millions of Indians in Canada especially from Punjab visas are expired but they aren't leaving and remaining here undocumented.

I think the Canadian government needs to be a little more careful with the type of immigrants that enter the country. I don't see it as a problem to have Chinese, Japanese, Indians and other people immigrating to Canada. But I think it is also necessary to attract more people from Europe to live in the country. Canada is a country with a white majority and, if they are not careful, the country's demographics could change a lot over the years. European ancestry needs to remain alive in the country. Especially British and French. That is Canada's identity.

You're better off staying in the U.S. I lived in Canada for years. Now in the States. The Canadian dollar is not nearly as strong as the American dollar. You can also forget about ever being a homeowner in Canada especially the major cities like Toronto you're looking at 1 million dollars for starter. Let's not forget the other hair raising cost of living. Healthcare is free in Canada but if you have a life threatening illness forget it. You can die waiting to get care!
