As an Alaskan, I have a lot of relationships with my Canadian brethren to my south, both personal and business. While supply chain problems, housing crisis, poor wages, cost of living, and immigration, are all huge issues in Canada, but in my experience, by far, the absolute worst problem I have both witnessed and been a victim of, is the extreme level of crime. Especially organied crime. \n\nIn many rural areas the RCMP is literally run by organized crime, and it caused the justice system to resemble something you'd expect from a third world military dictatorship. I never hear western media discuss it, but the crime in Canada is probably some of the worst on the planet. I saw with my own eyes in New Brunswick for example, is completely controlled by organized crime. This has a very significant impact on the overall functionality of the system. \n\nIf you travel around the world, you will see just how aweful Canada is. I feel really bad for the people there.

All indian students below 25, should have ECR (emigration check required) on their passports, their invitation letters from colleges should be scrutinized by the Ministry of External Affairs and Department of education, GoI. Only after that they should be allowed to travel. This can be embarrassing for the indian government, must be controlled at all cost.

I understand traveling for years outside Canada for the last decade will put you far out of the Candian market. If you followed the traditional work-invest in Canada approach you might feel different. As a baby boomer, I am set and my nieces and nephews who have entered the market early, they all have homes. If you are just coming to Canada now, blame the Trudeau immigration plan that has overwhelmed the system. In 5 to 10 years we may have caught up, I will be gone but the current immigrants will be in good shape. I love Americans. Although that's a general statement and just like Canada, there are jerks there just like here, for the most part I get along great with them. There are pros and cons to living in Canada and the U.S., For the most part, I believe Canada is the superior country. We have a superior healthcare system, superior banking system, superior snacks, and superior safety. However, Trudeau is killing that. He's destroyed our country to the point that one more term, and it may well be expedient to move to the USA. He's destroying our economy, our values, our culture. We have the resources to top the USA in every way, but we've never had leadership to make that happen. The U.S. has a superior economy, retail, and military. Although some may argue that the USA has superior freedoms, I'm not sure I agree with that. I know I don't feel freer when I travel there. I will definitely travel to the U.S. again. I have lots of friends there who I love and would love to see. However, it will take more Trudeau for me to want to move there. Since it looks like he's on the way out, I better just stay put at least for now.

I'm a black Canadian who's a naturalised citizen, and I agree that the immigration quota at 500,000 per annum under Trudeau until very recently was way too high. With high inflation, rising employment, brutal real estate and rent prices, a lack of housing for students and workers, and an overburdened healthcare system, the problem is not immigrants but our inability to be able to absorb that many while protecting the services and interests of Canadian citizens. In short, this is the Liberal government's fault for this situation. When I was finally able to visit home in Calgary in summer 2023 after years of Covid travel restrictions, it shocked me how messed up things were.

I came to Germany in 2008 to do my Bachelors and later did my masters and working for 10 years now. Got my citizenship 5 years ago. Lets say i have to travel a lot due to my work.. If i move out of Germany, it would be only because of insane tax . I expected even a colder or harsher condition but since my expectation was soo low, it was all good.. At my work place, the working language is only German. I knew that before so it was not a hard time when i was thinking from time to time regarding the difficulty.. \nOne thing and most important thing, Even after getting your citizenship in Germany you are not automatically a German. You are just a paper german ( Even though i dont hold other passport ). I knew this before and it was not hard for me but for many immigrants who become german citizens, they will still be seen as an Ausländer .. Thats the reality which will take another decade to change.

Yes, white people came to the new world and conquered the natives. For the next few hundred years they built western society as we know it. They were immigrants from different places, but they were mostly homogeniously white, and more importantly, they had commonality in their social norms, holidays, cultures, laws and religion. Mostly English, Irish, Scottish, French, German, polish, etc. -- they blended well and eventually created their own unique shared identities in Canada and United States. Things were stable and people were happy. Immigrants continued to flow, but in smaller numbers over greater lengths of time. This allowed time for integration, learning the common language, finding decent employment and housing, ect. Then Immigrants from vastly different cultures started arriving and in greater numbers, and greater rates... Job availability, housing, educational/medical services, travel infratructure could not keep pace with the sheer speed and amount of people flooding in. Therefore, everything and everyone suffered, and it isn't stopping.
