Nothing but positive comments on Canada. When you're welcomed in a country you're treated like you are. Black people aren't wanted or welcomed in the USA but believe they are. WAKE UP!

These conservatives in the comment section are such snowflakes. If anything bad happens to a liberal then its just life, but when capitalism and the idea yall like to preach about, survival of the fittest, bites uall in the ass, then it's a problem. If a person with no skills and launguage can outperform you, then it's simply survival of the fittest. Capitalism requires the strongest to improve the economy, it does not need patriotic lazy dumbasses who wanna work desk jobs and dont want to dirty their hands. It's simple, just let them in and work, deport and imprison the ones who commit actual crimes like murder and such. Working and contributing to the local economy is more than enough of a reason to be a citizen.

I am actually shocked by people in the comment here. All talked like you knew a lot of things of immigration and citizenship. Loll but many don’t even know the first thing, the difference between permanent residence and citizenship. Immigration jail is referred to PR required living time in Canada. PR don’t have a Canadian passport and only citizens can have it. Once you are a Canadian citizen, you don’t need to live in Canada for a required time. China does not allow dual citizenship and that is why they try to scam the system to make up the living time in Canada.

Ok so there's a lot of back and forth racial comments in here so I'm going out on a limb. I've been living in castlemore bramton since 2005 1st phase. It was multicultural then, which is how it should be. I grew up in Woodbridge where there were more Italians than other cultures, but I could get a job there,and I did not feel out of place. The problem that I have with Brampton is that, the Indians do not hire any other culture in their business places, from the banks straight down to the grocery stores. I would also like to keep my property value up to par and even that's becoming hard. Segregation is UNACCEPTABLE!!. It bothers me that the government is allowing this to happen. I see job postings online that's asking for Punjabi as a second language. Any job postings in Canada should have either French or English requirement, any other language(s) is a plus. This comment is based on my own experience being a resident of Brampton. Facts is facts!

Nice Video but such misleading comments by people. No you cant afford everything with the minimum wage. People here are doing 2 jobs a day. Only skilled resources make good money, but they dont want to put in the same effort in India. I am in Canada too, making good. Yeah if you did it with jugaad from an unrecognized university then i can't tell. I know of people who attended college/University programs in Toronto and still can't get good jobs. I started with 8k INR but thats not where i am today. And $14/hr doesn't give you your house, car and all you mentioned in the video. \n\nI know for people from certain areas in India, its all about how they can make it to Canada by Hook or Crook and this video just motivates them. \n\nI am not here to say India is better than Canada or any form of comparison, every country has its baggage and so does India. SMH! The comment section is a daunting place. The central American government needs to be held accountable for the mass exists. History repeats itself - just like the forefathers left for the Americas because of persecution, economics, and social injustices. These immigrants are somewhat doing the same thing. You cannot simply pick a time out of history and say that you want to go back to the way things were some 70 years ago. I agree racism is an issue but the part with Islam, that is cultural not race. That was proven by the fact the woman actress whose race is Mid Eastern had no idea that other Mid-Easterners suffered these comments when they dressed in obvious Muslim clothing. There is a difference between Race and Culture. Irregardless, we need to treat each other like we want to be treated. All cultures have common things among its members that are unpleasant to people of other cultures. If we realize that about our own culture, we can empathize with others.

I agree with a lot of the things said in the comments. He didn't properly look into what is required for refugee status and came illegally so shouldn't receive preferential treatment. However, his not speaking English...where could he go to learn as an illegal immigrant? And likely he had to work long hours to save money for lawyers, etc. The language thing to me seems a bit harsh. He may even know passable English, but the reporters may have wanted the interviews to go more smoothly and so spoke in his native language.

its funny the cbc disables the comments section on all their videos that white conservatives are likely to respond negatively to. but when its the reverse , boom. ill tell you a little story about racism . 35 yrs. ago i worked demolition and one day i notice these new guys just standing around. a couple of other guys come over to me and point out that those three guys just standing around would be fired at the end of the day, when i asked why they told me it was because they werent doing any work becuase no one would show then what to do becuase they were black they used different words. so i went over to these three guys and told them if they didnt work they would be fired at the end of the day. they said no one would show them which i thought was pretty lame since the job was to pick up the demolition garbage and pill it like every one else, so i showd them and save their jobs.

I can't believe what's being said in these comments. So the fact that he didn't speak English in the interview is the only thing that sunk in? Ok. Many of the immigrants that come here , come for the opportunities: Work, food, shelter, etc. Learning English should be mandatory in all immigrants applying for citizenship but we can't disregard someone because they choose NOT to speak English. For all we know, this guy (I'm sure) understands and probably can speak some English but for the sake of the interview the producers mostly likely asked him and he chose to speak in Spanish.

we are not children why do people put something into everything we say......If you say something and anyone takes it as prejudice that does not mean you are prejudiced against anyone......we all have our quirks and the people that claim all of this usually take everything and analzye it ....instead of taking what is being said as just a comment.....there have been things said that I did not like but I do not say anything because everyone is entitled to their own opinions.......

I am sorry to make such a frivolous comment on such an important topic but the woman at 19:30 (Bev Ann?) is SO beautiful, like wow. \n\nBut on a more serious note, I think most of us have inherent biases to some degree (those who took these tests and indicated they don't have them - kudos to you). I openly admit I do too, and I think that's difficult to prevent if you've grown up without being exposed to a particular race or ethnicity, so I don't beat myself up about it. I think what we CAN do is make ourselves aware of our inherent biases and try to examine ourselves when we are forming impressions or making decisions about people and make a conscious effort to educate ourselves about and increase our interactions with people with whom we are unfamiliar. Ultimately, it's a fear of the unknown, so the more we know, the less we fear. I have my work cut out for me and I try to make small improvements every day.

I can see westerners being freaked out by the women who cover their face. I myself was like wtf when I seen a women with covered face for the first time back in northern Virginia, and I am from Ethiopia - a country that has a big Muslim population, more than 30%. We live among Muslims peacefully, because we respect our differences, but the ones back home do not really cover their face so I was not used to it. The number wasnt small, I found their site years ago (which they since closed down) and it had hundreds of comments, now hundreds might seem like a small number, but the site was up for less than a month.

Blacks arent the problem in canada as much as it is in the US. There was no KKK here. The people that do deserve the knowledge is the Aboriginals. The government treated them bad and so did the churches. They are what the Canadian government should be addressing and not so much the blacks as they are just as equal as a white man in Canada now. Jobs for the government 1 year have to hire more minorities then another year females and what not. I cant speak for what it is like in the US but where I live blacks are treated the same as whites. My experience in Canada has been largely positive, with only minimal racial difficulties.  As a teenager, I do recall some kids making blatantly racist comments, when I was the only minority in the room; but they were silly girls, popular and full of themselves, and most of the students who heard did not laugh with them. We all knew it was wrong.  Another time I was told, by an agent, that a potential employer claimed she would not hire me because of my race.  I did not hear these words firsthand, though, so it was impossible for me to verify the truth. In the end, I let the matter alone. Other people,  I realize, have endured severe injustices; such have not been my experience, but this does not subtract from their reality.  Indeed, racism does exist, and shall remain as long as there are imbeciles wallowing in the mire of ignorance, people who cling to an absurd sense of superiority for lack of something more meaningful to hold.  As well--and it must be said!--quite likely, we all have, at some point, entertained discriminatory thoughts. 'Tis not a 'black and white' problem but a human one, and we must be mindful of it beginning with ourselves.  Canada, then, with its many inhabitants and complex history, will never be the exception. We can't expect perfection among people, here or anywhere else in the world.  Even so,  I believe there are enough fellow Canadians who strive to treat people as individuals and are happy to make friends across cultures.  My life has been and continues to be a testament to that!  Whatever our troubles, we still retain a proud heritage of diversity and progressive ethnic harmony.  We do try, and for this reason I love my country.  I am deeply patriotic and immensely proud to be part of it!

Hi, I appreciate your comment. Multicultularism doesn't work. People need common ground, common goals and values. Muslims are so different and constantly clash with others.\nI travel a lot for my work and have been to Latin America many times. Colombia is the country I like the most in the region.
