The green is not greener in this side. I would not even consider as a foreigner to come ro canada. Our gov't is no longer democratic.

I am Indian, moved to Toronto and got my comp sci bachelors at Waterloo. After graduating I could only find a $100k CDN job in Toronto. Moved to US and 10 years later I am making $750k CDN equivalent at FAANG in a product role. I have a big house in NJ, only 1 hour drive to NYC and a small studio apartment in Miami Beach where I go to relax. I have a green card now and will likely get my US citizenship in the next 5 years. Kids are growing up in America with so much opportunities. I couldn't be happier now.

Of course it is... When you allow people to come in that are not vetted, you end up with many social, criminal, contribution related issues, and fundamental society value consequences.\n\nHere is the reality... Every other government in Canada set the agenda for immigration, it helped us and it helped them... Under Trudeau and foreign agendas, the immigrants set the agenda, what helps them is the only important issue, hence why we have zero growth, building, etc. But lots of people. Yay.\n\nNow add to that, this desire to grow at this rate will set us on a path to forever change our environment. We will now have to use vastly more of our resources, forests, green spaces, etc. etc. Our population density to useable arable land is higher than the US, so why do we have this desire to become an overcrowded zoo?

I live in Buffalo, Toronto born. I got a spousal green card based on marriage to my late wife who was a dual citizen though she was US born.. Western NY is very friendly and very supportive, at least to me it is. And yes I live close to the border-I come up often. I became a USC in 1993 btw.

Its high time people united and greened their countries and stop going to where they consider to green pasturers. People of those countries considered green pastures have worked for their countries to be lucrative.

They are most often either third or fourth party at the chamber (challenging with the NDP for the third place). The Bloc cannot be elected as Government, since it only has candidates in the province of Quebec, which has about 25% of circonscription of the Canada, but it is still larger than the green party\nBest result of Green Party was 3 seats.\nWorst result of the Bloc Quebecois was 4 seats.

I have worked in the oil industry for the last 30 years and through constant attack from Canadians in places that dont have an oil industry the industry in Canada is a shell of what it once was. I gained employment in the US 5 years ago and moved to the US 2 years ago. I and my family have applied for green cards. I appreciate living in a country where individual rights and freedoms are enshrined within the constitution.

Till now it was only possible for Indians with high skills to go to USA with work visa and they apply for green card. In Biden rule it is possible to give huge money to agents and cross boarders like this. So semi skilled and unskilled are trying to go. Mostly due to peer pressure. America presents harrowing & too limited pathways to obtain just work permits/residency, except you won a green card lottery or something; don't even talk about the asylum program. Immigrants with countless stories of been exploited bcos they had no other alternatives than to get married. Thus lots of people moved to Canada with more friendly immigration assimilation policies. America may have the bigger economy but nothing beats canada in getting your papers without been stuck in a situationship(immigration loop, marraige web etc) & as we know your papers unlocks the full potentials & provisions of that land.

I was on a H1b visa from 2007 to 2013 (six year term, didn't apply for Green card, had to leave), came back on a L1A visa in 2017which ties you to a specific employer without any option of quitting, applied for Green card (L1A has a fast lane for gc) but before my priority date came my visa extension was denied and I was forced to leave.. I moved to Canada in 2020, event with Covid delays got my PR in 2022, bought a house in Toronto in 2022. Though I am making bit less than what I could have if in USA I am happy to pay my taxes to Canada.

Its in a mess right now..started a business, near my older parents, decent old age pension/ canada pension and prescription cheaper, free medical, which needs improving, but at least i don't have to pay for dr. I'm going to bring up a non health care , social or gun violence issue that every American I've met who comes to Canada ususally comments on and that's how clean Canada is compared to the State, the pollution in the states is unbelievable its like no one cares there , in my province we have 4 different garbage pick ups once a week recycling for plastic paper glass cans and, Green bin food waste used to create clean compost , and seasonally yard waste every 2 wks again for composting and finally actual garbage which is only picked up every other week , seem like Americans just chuck there trash where ever they please

You're a good guy, Tyler...and very brave to take on such a dicey subject as comparisons between Canada and The United States. We are two distinctly different cultures. Currently, America is more than frightening. The political system has really become a total mess. A two-party system (basically YES or NO) does not cater to the many grey areas of politics. The choice right now seems to be Fascist or Liberal. That's it! It was not like that during most of my professional life. Thanks to my job, I had a Green Card. But, I also could travel with little difficulty...especially in the South and Mid-West. Why? Well, because I had blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. I never got used to states where everyone was walking around with a gun. It scared the hell out of me. As a commercial film director and writer, (unique services - hence the Green Card) I worked just about everywhere in the US. The North East is the most similar to Canada. But get down south, and people were literally walking around with holsters and revolvers on their hips. I never felt completely safe. But America is also a great country full of opportunities and if you are educated and a professional, the money is also great. All Canadians love their Healthcare and Social Safety Net. Generally, I think Canadians are more socially evolved and better educated. Your educational system is awful. And the Bible Belt States are anything but Christian. It's hate and fear-based. But the past 7 years have been the worst since the Trump Cult era began. Trump and his Mega Cult could destroy what was once a wonderful country.

Have the 700 to 1000 students whose immigration application for permanent resident status been deported back to india.. They need to be deported back to Punjab. The community is over representrd in Canada and not in a good. Why is 18 ,% of crime in Canada associated to just one community. The appearance of Delta and Brampton will vastly improve if you see other folks there.. Indian government should shutdown the Canadian consulate in punjab. Thank goodness I chose the United States for my education. In 2010, I had two options -Texas A&M University and University of Waterloo. I thought of Waterloo at first (being top university in Canada vs 15th in US) as I was naive, but Texas A&M gave me teaching assistantship which meant 100 % tuition scholar and monthly stipend. Being from a lower middle class family in India, I took the option. \nEven 13 years down the line, that was the best decision of my life. I had chance to work with best researchers and professors in world, work in highly funded research labs, publish papers and patent and later get good job in my domain. \nI never aimed for green card and moved back to India. I applied for Canada and even received ITA but didn't go ahead. Things are not perfect but even today in India, most people are impressed by some niche work I did in US.

Get a US green card (or move elsewhere in Canada or worldwide) and only come back for visits. Toronto is not friendly overall by any means-people in general are into themselves. On top of that, transit really no longer works like it once did, traffic is horrible and highways are clogged. Plus the city is broke coupled with nutty Olivia Chow and crazy Doug Ford. Need I say more? I btw got a green card and haven't looked back.

As a Kenyan American I can definitely relate to this video. Things have gotten really expensive here and people are deciding between buying necessities and being without, rent has sky rocketed, food and gas(petro) prices are ridiculous, coming with the right visa is important. A lot of agencies have been bringing Kenyan trained nurses here and they are very happy, green card lottery is another option. To avoid stress use the channels I listed above.

Here in US average house mortgage is sh210,000 a month. Average income sh400,000 a month. Then you have bills and taxes. My niece who just came from Kenya last year on work visa is making sh13 million a year as an RN. That’s sh 1.1 million a month. I think she’ll be just fine! My advice, get a bachelors degree in Kenya , apply for masters program over here, graduate and apply for a work permit. Or get a two year nursing program (can even do online internationally), work in Kenya for 2-3 years, then come here through work visa. Or apply for green card and come with a work permit. People who suffer the most are undergraduates and visitor visa holders with no work permit. They work for minimum wage under the table.

When you immigrate, to get any Govt service like a Driving License, School admission, and even a job, you need a social security/insurance number. That number is pegged on your entry visa. If you are a visitor, you have to convince the Govt why they should let you work? If you are a student, it is limited the number of hours you work. Any employer is obligated to employ only those with credentials. If you are coming for work, like Nurses do, employers will have done your paperwork. Green cards are one legal way to immigrate. If you have legal papers, you make your way around without issues. Cost of living varies on location. As for skills, you need them, get them over time. There are good and bad stories, even locals who mess up end up in crap like an illegal immigrant would.

Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. When you vote for countries in terms of beauty they look at different criteria to make your judgement.\n2. Eg Mexicans work well in the agriculture centres and Asians do nanny jobs but other any professionals from those countries can come in.\n5 The weather in Canada is not human friendly

The refugee experience is completely different from that of people who come here with green cards or as students. Most refugees don't speak English or don't have marketable skills. A refugee can succeed but it takes several years of learning the language and gaining marketable skills. I have many friends who are refugees and most can only work menial jobs because of language barriers. There are also those who have small businesses that are very successful
