Iv gone directly to kitchen staff and given them a tip cutting the server out completely normally they only give 10% of there total tips to the kitchen and I don't know any one server that claim more that 35% of there tips come tax season.\n. ohh I should mention prior to covid lockdowns a decent sever at an average bar takes home an average of $200 a night on top of their hourly wage so with the standard of 15 per h that's 120 + 200 that is 320 in a 8 hour shit that $40.00 and rough hour after 37 since I don't know a single one paying the proper taxes. While with Canada you have fixed prices, which actually encourages stagnantion in development as anything that streamlines the hospital making it more efficient hurst the hospitals next year of available funding.. while being hurt in the USA can really set the individual back.\nIn Canada you get an overall lower quality of care as the talented doctors end up moving to the states where they can get paid what they are worth not stuck on a fixed income. And after all that rare illnesses in canada as stated don't have any coverage meaning that any one hit with hit rare illness finds out the hard way they can either pay for life saving medication or well pass on.. as most Canadian are taxed to high to have any substantial savings available for such an emergency as they fall into the trap that the government has me covered. \n\nSo each system has its positives and negatives and as far as I'm concerned it's not talked about enough honestly up hear.\n\nIf you have been to the dentist in canada thats basically the usa system, though the prices are fixed in some areas so some services won't be available.. as they don't update the payment schedule often enough so certain procedures pay well, other well can actually cost the dentist out of pocket. \nTherefore in some areas you can't get certain procedures done at all the dentist will refuse.

What I have noticed all my life living in Canada is Caucasians don't like hearing the truth about anything where they are feel they are being made to look like the villain, but the objective is not to make anyone feel like they're on trial but to start acknowledging that this is going on regardless of if you've ever experienced/seen it or not. The reason Caucasians don't see it is because of what they call White Privilege. Caucasians will never have to deal with the subtleties of racism that minorities face everyday because they will never be treated that way even in other countries they visit or live. Many Caucasians aren't aware that stereotyping is racism as you will notice them say the weirdest things and make really weird assumptions like calling a Korean woman Chinese or mistaking a Hindu or Sikh for someone Islamic, which you should never do. Cultural insensitivity happens here because many Caucasians don't care much to learn about another culture and because of this there's it's creating even more issues. The race problem is Canada is huge and people are trying to say that it isn't but in the coming years more and more evidence is going to come out to the point where it will be irrefutable and there will either be a reform or civil war.

I told her I wasn’t gonna deny Jesus. She worries about me but I told her, I know my destiny for a fact. I had a personal encounter with Jesus and there’s no way I can deny Him. I used to live in Brampton and this is the city where I first landed. No hatred for the city but people have ruined it. I'm a brown guy myself so I can't be racist against my own people and tbh, some of the best people I know in Canada are Sikhs but even they accept the fact that there is a large number of bad apples in their community. Sikhs have played a major part in both positive and negative way, to make and break this city.\n\nInsurance scams in Brampton cost their citizens to pay one of the highest premiums in the country. Generally, drivers in Brampton have no fuckin' idea how to drive because the licences were literally bought. \n\nA large number of people of our brown community always hell bent on abusing the system, wherever they go. We bring the same back home mindset here in Canada rather follow the system. \n\nThe only thing mostly brown community is focused on is how to make money and that's all. Don't try to learn the language, don't like to mix with people, don't care about the laws or anything. They only like to have nice big houses, show off their leased fancy cars and that's all.\n\nI left this city for good and don't regret my decision at all when I see numerous videos about the bad situation in Brampton. I was born in Seattle and left to Canada (married) when I was in early 20's!  This then was a good change for me as Vancouver was a great city compared to Seattle, moved right downtown and had a blast so for a young person (then) was great.  Met some great people from all over the world and had health care, medical/Dental etc.... I worked in the greater Vancouver area for 8 years and it was tough, very strict, and did not help that I was from the states, white bread Canadian seemed a bit jealous that I was there, sometimes not very friendly.  The Europeans I met were actually better to deal with and I got along quite well with them.  The cost of living was about the same as in Seattle.  After about 8 years being in Canada and working hard I saw America booming and the Canadian dollar was as low as $.62 cents (in late 90's) so I took my craft from Vancouver and brought it to the US just across the border, I became much happier working in the States, I took a little bit of bs but not bad from some that I had a Canadian accent (go figure when I moved up there I had a twang) I really never left the united states I will always be American and I have been still working in the US for over 20 years and deal with mainly Americans on a daily basis from all over the State of Washington.  Depending on where you grow up or end up you should never see a border Seattle and Vancouver have more in common than Vancouver / Calgary in fact most Canadians don't care much for the other provinces.  After 30 years of being part of both countries, I can say that people are people both have great offerings and if you took the best of Canada and America to combine then we would all prosper, there is so much both can learn from each other.  Bottom line:I take the best of both worlds and what they have to offer, yes, I have found less expensive goods in Canada than what they cost in the states.  I have seen it from both eyes, and if you cant be open culturally then stay away.

growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -

The most racism I experienced in school was from teachers. Its the most profound kind of racism, because they are authority figures. The thing is when your fellow students display racism it doesn't have the same gravity as it does when your teacher does it because you know your teacher does know better but they truly believe it.In University, I actually had a teacher give a lesson that was so tinged with racism that it really broke me down, because what I've come to realize is that so many people think that being racist is saying actual racist words and don't understand that perpetuating stereotypes are the most prevalent forms of racism.  It is demoralizing because it feels like a losing battle when your teacher is perpetuating racially disparaging ideas to an entire class, and you think about how many people are going to be influenced by that idea and in turn perpetuate it. I realized that this teacher really insidiously believed what she was saying was true, but that it just wasn't politically correct to say it. The main principle of white privilege is that white people get to be individuals but people of colour get grouped together by the most base stereotype of their race.  I don't think Black-focused schools are the solution. I think more integrated schools with diverse populations of students and teachers are the solution.\n Then there are concrete issues of race, space and the law. For example when you come to realize that carding continues in Toronto, and that most residents do not care that young Black men are being harassed and treated like criminals by the police because it does not affect their community, it makes you wonder if people are only inclined to feel empathy for those who look like them.

Australia has the universal health care thing here too (medicare) honestly the best thing, I can't imagine living in America and not having access to public free health care, it's something we really take for granted here but it saves lives.

I'm also Canadian and moved to the USA to marry my (now) husband, and I definitely notice some major differences. I think much of this really depends on where you're living in the US. I spent most of my life in Ottawa, and now live in South Central Pennsylvania. I'm surrounded by hillbillies, haha. In some ways healthcare is better in the US - I have waited much less time for health care, and also if you're paying in cash for the doctor many places offer a discount here. And I hear you on Amazon Prime! I use it all the time here! Not to mention so many cool vegan foods I could never get in Canada are easily available here.

As a multi generational Canadian, I don't really care whether they cover their face or not. That's their choice. During my life I've seen all these different forms of conservative dress from catholic nuns, to Hutterites to Mennonites and these people are just part of the mix. What this is designed to do is to create a barrier between themselves and the larger society which is fine. I would never interact with one of these woman ever because the thin flimsy barrier makes it clear that she is not interested in talking to anyone for any reason and again this is fine. If she was with a man I would talk only with the man and completely ignore her and if she was with a male child I would talk to the male child, not to her. I don't normally chat with women who are strangers other than now and then in a supermarket line or whatever. This face thingy frees me from the need of chitchat small talk and I'm good with that. In any case we would have absolutely nothing in common.
