Nowhere else will be better, Canadians just don't have a clue about anything outside their own walls, yet think they are so informed ?

This is CRAZY you not allowed to miss you mortgage payments or property tax but you somebody can miss rent for years and the system would protect them. Thats why I don't even rent my basement I bought my house for me and my family yes the extra income is good but not worth the headache and when they talk about hosing crisis too bad i don't even listen to that you can sleep outside for all i care

I can agree to many of the mentioned problems. Housing is much cheaper outside the cities btw.\nBut in one thing I confess guilty: \nI expect people who want to live here permanently or for a very long time (> 5 years) to make an effort to learn the language. There is no discussion for me. I don't expect fluent German, but you have to be able to communicate somehow. Language is the most important premise for integration. And anyone who rejects integration is not welcome here in my opinion. But anyone who makes an effort to integrate professionally and culturally/socially is welcome.

They expect for someone to come to work to speak German on C1 level, I mean for a reasonable job and on the other end they're allowing all the immigrants in that don't know German at all. They want cheap labor, period. As well even if you're from some other EU country they look at you differently so I don't know how would they look at someone from outside of EU. Would avoid Germany, only as a last resort.

Now memory came back to me when I was in Vancouver for 3 days and enjoyed my time over Canada in 2015 for a concert, Canada was the first country I've visited outside of the United States I'll never for get it the people where amazing very polite there was a moment in my life that I wanted to move to Canada now thinking over my decision after some years later I'm glad I didn't. I can't believe how bad it has gotten I'm now sure its gotten worse now. For me i don't think Canada is really bad at all i know everything is becoming expensive but not everything yes the house is expensive but for me right now i am already retired I'm 66 years old my house i already paid off i live in milton just outside of Toronto the only problem is my two sons but both of my son have a good job my oldest son he worked as computer software developer and my youngest son he worked as computer data in downtown Toronto now my plan i want to go back to my birth country Cambodia for my retirement from November to March April I come back to Canada to see my childrens and grandchildrens this is just plan but remember Canada still the best country to live compare to some other countries good luck to you Alina . From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. People do not know they have no biological ownership of their children, because I guess few Canadians value their children to care about their own laws. But these laws also apply to immigrants too. What money was taken from me during the move and resettlement, the government takes by creating more expenses for me than I could ever imagine or budget for. Emotionally, I am a wreck. Rather than commencing my writing career, I have been seeking low-income lawyers, reading the provincial law on Youth Protection, filing complaints within a circular system (the watchdog is part of the system not outside of it) and preparing all evidence to prove I have done nothing wrong [just like in communist rule]. Have you ever given any thought to the difficulties in proving your innocence? \nNO ONESEEMS AWARE OF THIS DETERENT TO BRINGING CHILDREN TO CANADA. NO ONE. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I COULD NOT PLAN FOR. All other complaints like the economy, or the weather, or inflation I have survived. But taking away my child, my reason to settle in Canada for a life of freedom for her, my legacy, was unthinkable. People ask me in this small village where is my daughter. Their rosy cheeks become snow white when I tell them. Canadians here are unaware and scared like cattle in a thunder storm. Many are addicted to welfare payments, cannabis, prescription drugs, and television. They all seem to be waiting in a pen of fear. I am stuck here now, with little financial resource to fight for my child's life. It is unfortunate that no one will read my comment because it is an inscrutable wall of text or too frightening. Unless someone reads it, no help will come for my daughter. (Because she is a dual citizen, the local Polish Ambassador will not step in - another drawback for having a Canadian passport). It's just really sad for the babies & children that get pushed into it by their parents. No child should die or drown because of pushbacks. Think EU needs a new system, either a centre outside of Europe where you can only apply there, and others are sent there or send back to their country. Countries that don't allow it, will be out of trade, business and no more international help until they take those back. Time to prevent, and not kill.

Not just Canada changed, the entire world changed...if you go outside you are going to find more and differents problems..the entire world sucks, what you should look is what you are agree to support and what you are agree to loose..

Try London England, you’ll find it’s 3-4 times more expensive than Toronto. Bad policies cause disinvestment i.e. selling property in Canada and investing outside. This leads to devaluation of Canadian dollar aka inflation. Canadians need to wake up and understand macro economics remember Argentina was also once one of the richest countries in the world.

Racism is a cultural poison based on the basal ganglia fear of outsiders (xenophobia). The cure is introducing children to foreign languages/culture from an early age, hopefully the kids can mix with other kids speaking another language.

The real issue is Canada is letting in the trash other nations that they no longer want. The people coming into Canada are the people who cant make it in their own countries. I'm not taking a side, but British Columbia needs 52,000 construction workers to meet the high demand for housing. The government plans to bring in 52% of these workers from outside Canada. For those questioning the need for more immigrants, look at the numbers: Canada would struggle without immigrants to support its economy. We just need better visa regulations to ensure only skilled workers are allowed in.

I'm confused. What part of it should be illegal? Claiming asylum generally? Quitting your job while outside of your country? I’m an immigrant we came in 1982 , but the problem now is a lot of people here don’t want to integrate with Canadian society and want instead bring their own beliefs. Part of being an immigrant is to assimilate into the culture and not be an outsider. To me Canada is home , this is where I met my wife and my children are born. I came as an engineering student in 1999. Visa students were not allowed to work outside the university. I knew i had to focus on grades and find whatever work on campus. At the time I envyied Canadian friends working during summer but i focused on school and campus work. Problem now is students are coming to work and studying part time. My aim was education not immigration. I met my wife and stayed. Sad to see the Canadian state now..immigration when controlled brings in cream of the crop....now we get anyone and everyone ?

Now they only rent on 28 day basis it’s like a quasi airbnb system. you can do it outside of Toronto. make the tenant sign every month. and also furnish the apartment with really basic stuff. the tenants are poor they have no choice.

It is a very important thing to note that despite Canada being the second largest country in the world by landmass, the vast majority of the population lives 100km from the American border because the vast majority of the land has no infrastructure to have large scale habitation. Outside of the prairies and the st Lawrence valley, there is precious little farmland to sustain people. So we import a huge percentage of our food which can also attribute to rising costs (not the only factor but it doesn’t help). Geographically, this country can’t comfortably hold more than 36 million people. Our population really shouldn’t grow beyond that unless we have infrastructure to house and feed people, which we barely do for the people that live here let alone the folks coming in. I feel like people want to make it a race issue, but that’s misguided. Canada is not America. We can’t fill our country top to bottom with people it’s logistically too difficult. We literally don’t have the resources to grow beyond that roughly 36 million cap

Make no mistake. Canada is not the US or Georgia Meloni's Italy. The sense that the immigration of the last half century has been overwhelmingly positive for the country is widespread outside of a few predictable nativist Anglo enclaves. The key problem is the disconnect between the demands of employers and the labour market situation on one hand, and housing on the other. The national and provincial governments abandoned any involvement in housing beyond zoning issues in the 1970s. The provision of affordable housing can never be done by private developers alone with our subsidies or coordination with the state. There are simply too many problems of market failure. Instead what they can provide is more and more higher-end housing. The national government has never connected the various aspects of immigration so that now Canada's largest cities simply cannot cope with the number of incoming migrants.

Immigration is essential. Blame the leaders for failing to provide infrastructure. This is also true outside of the immigration issue. We have not addressed or overcome the slashing and burning of the 90's. Don't blame the need for immigration. Blame politicians for ignoring the elephant in the room. They have to spend money to properly integrate folks. It's not fair to anyone.
