Trade balance :\nUS Canada 41$ Billion for Canada \nUS Mexico 130$ Billion for Mexico (This is really huge) \nUS China 367$ Billions for China \nUS EU 167$ Billions for EU \nTrump will be soft with EU because US Tech Giants (Meta,Apple, Google, Amazon) make a lot of money in EU.

Why Canada does not deal with china and EU? They need oil and other stuff. Why no free trade woth them.

Retaliation only affects the ordinary citizens. We all know this fact. EU countries are all under US's economic belt. A normal leader should not retaliate instead he/she should meet with Trump first and discuss the way forward.

I always viewed Canada and US as brothers, elder being a bully and the younger just going about its business. I never ever thought it will come to this... and If he occupies Greenland it will also loose the EU. What if BRICS and EU goes against US? Canada needs to get all new trading partners, they need to look to Europe, Asia, and other countries. There are other markets out there, especially in the EU, where they are no longer getting energy from Russia. If Canada shows any weakness Trump will hit Canada even harder, the only why Canada stays strong and comes out ahead, is to be strong. Canada will suffer for a while, but with new trade partners, Canada will be much better off.

I actually get the tariffs on Canada and the EU. We defend them and they make fun of us for not having free health care. Well guess what we defend you to have that free health care cause your countries won’t spend the money to defend you guys. Once you guys invaded free health will be gone. What’s better. It’s blatantly obvious what’s happening next, big tariffs on the EU and NATO will be reducing/eliminated. \nThe US has accepted the reality that it is no longer has global hegemony, therefore some of these actions are logical if painful. The EU should have control of its own defence, it is ridiculous that it doesn’t as it is sufficiently wealthy to do so with ease. Further EU integration has become almost essential or the EU states will start fighting each other again. Trump is actually helping the EU to grow up.

I'm from eastern EU. I hope EU can make an improved trade agreement with Canada. One that will last future decades. \n\nThey are a reliable partner. My country (Romania) has been using Canadian CANDU nuclear tech for our reactors since the 1970s and we are collaborating again for other new reactors. This is what governments want : stable democracies + reliable partners. Canada has both.

In regards to the EU, they always followed the lead out of the US. Now, under pressure from their handlers on one side and out in the open against common sense and free speech, coming out of the US, it's a hard nut to swallow, because the handlers don't pay as much as the loss would be if the US stops paying... I don't expect them to be smart, but they will also learn the lesson the hard way with countries within the EU, being sick and tired to comply with regulations imposed by the handlers... The US cannot just impose tarffis like these without repercussions. I hope the EU, UK, Australia and New Zealand follow suit. You cannot bully your allies for economic gain. The US will end up isolating themselves.

Issue is China. Rather than Punishing China, Trump got mad at the number shown. Infact all countries must impose 100% tariff on china. Atleast US, Canada, EU must cooperate between themselves to impose them on china. Any Product made in china must carry 100% tariff until china floats its currency.

This will finally force EU, Canadian and Mexican goverments (if you count Mexico as a state) to do their job. Which si not bad.
