You have threatened your own economic and personal freedom. Prime Minister Trudeau spoke succinctly in a comprehensible way to let you, the american people, know the seriousness of your choice. If you understand what you have done and realize the implications, then peacefully protest (if that is still allowed with your evolving fascist/populist/authoritarian government). Contact your local, state/territorial and federal government officials. You can let your governors, senators and representatives know that you do not agree with the government’s actions and the subsequent hardship it will impose not only on the world but on you, your family and neighbours. Make change happen in a peaceful, non violent manner, while you still can. We didn’t ask for nor want this absurdly unnecessary confrontation but when attacked, we will fight our old friends and historic allies. Elbows up Canada!

As an American who not unlike more than half of this country believe this president and his administration are going down a very dangerous path. It feels like a runaway train, why can't we stop it, why can't we remove him, the impending damage that is about to take place seems obvious. What a big difference between the speaches of DJT , Trump is trying to get Americans to believe that he is the savior of the USA. Justin Trueau is an intelligent and serious leader of Canada - compliment! \nHe stumbles along with a very limited vocabulary in his speeches, speeches in which any normal person can hear how little intelligence and substance there is behind these words. \nNow he is blackmailing the victim of the Russian war instead of the perpetrator, just as he is sacrificing everything the free world stands for for his confused fantasies. \nHe is now even demanding a third term in office, although in the first few days he has already brought more harm to the people than any president before him. \nThis is the direct path to a dictatorship in the Putin model.

It will be the businesses and employees, not the politicians who are now trying to act tough. If we want this to turn into a real kinetic war, then turning off the taps may do it. \n\n We have seen countless times where politicians tell us what we want to hear, making us think they are heading is a certain direction, only to find they do the exact opposite. This proves you can not believe what career politicians say and have to go by what they do, or don’t do, instead. Yet now, they confidently declare that Canada will never become the 51st state. The more I read the comments of different news articles, the more I realize that we as a world, and a species, want to be united as friends, hand in hand but our leaders are trying to keep us divided. I hope that whatever good people left down there can rise up and take back their country ASAP, otherwise the entire world will suffer the catastrophic consequences!

In Europe, we feel exactly the same. Trump and MAGAism won't last for ever. The real problem is that the longer this madness continues, the longer the US will take to get back it's power and influence. The rest of the world understands that the problem comes from an incapable and illiterate leader but it also understands that this could happen again. America might take decades to regain trust. The longer MAGA dominates the American people then the longer it will take America to rise back to it's former status. It is so very tragic. Just to let you know, a great deal of us don’t want this either. We are trapped in a growing nightmare that is a terrifying orange clown and his psychotic South African sidekick-they are backed by nefarious groups with deep pockets who have been plotting for years and were ready on day 1 when Frump took office. They are vile and evil but very organized. The state of our world does not need more Putins and Trumps-there are more of us than them. We can overcome if we are prepared to dig our heels in and fight for what we know is right. Whenever I become disheartened I remind myself of the Ukrainian people who have been at war, fighting mostly alone for years, and somehow holding their own. They deserve more. You deserve more. The American people deserve more. Together we will overcome this scourge!?????

As a Finnish guy living in Germany I am so glad to hear PM Mr Trudeau´s speech. There are mighty many people around the world who respect and love each other, and try to keep to do so. Chapeau Canadians!! And, the EU is not to screw the US, it never was.

Canada is on track to become the next world superpower, so long as Trump doesn't hand the keys to the kingdom to Putin first. The American people do not want this. I pray the people can take back their country before we collapse.
