As a Canadian, I support any measure Trump places on Canada. There's a lot of Canadians, who are not willing to bend the knee to the Trudeau government, even if it means some pain. We are so sick of Trudeau and his NDP coalition government. Canada is struggling to get rid of this government and to let you know how bad it is, we are about to have our first ever 'UNELECTED' prime minister. He won't last long but it does really feel like pure unadulterated Authoritarianism.

THIS is why Trump is imposing tariffs on Canada. They don’t do ? about illegals crossing from their country to the US . Canada needs to be taught a lesson. NYC needs to have ALL GOVERNMENT funding cut. Make NYC SUFFER BIG . NYC politicians are not just corrupt but they’re evil. You ppl have no idea just how evil and corrupt they are. Democrats/liberals have completely ruined the world, it’s infected their evil everywhere. I wish more ppl would open their eyes to the truth. But they’ve allowed themselves to be brainwashed by liberals lies. It’s sad. Very very sad.

? It was never an “asylum crisis”. It was a national security crisis, national sovereignty crisis, a public safety crisis, a deadly drug flow crisis, a human trafficking crisis, a seggs slavery crisis, and a financial crisis - all actively facilitated by a corrupt government and supported by an anti-American leftist ideology. \n\nThanks to the Trump administration for performing their Constitutional duties to protect our country and enforce our laws. States like NY that refuse to abide by federal laws should suffer consequences. They are creating a Constitutional crisis, essentially engaging in nullification. If they won’t recognize federal laws they shouldn’t receive federal funds.

We're in solidarity with our fellow trans people, despite being russian. People must work in military because of their merit and not because if your evil pseudo-rightheous beliefs. We're entitled to our hormone blockers, hormone replacement and surgeries, because government that doesn't help people withs those, is the government that cannot be trusted. Trump's government is betrayal of United States of America

It's why i prefer to be happy in the United States of living in. I no longer wish to go to Canada to live. The anti-immigrant sentiment in Canada has become the worst, more so than what is now with Donald Trump in the United States. A new prime minister in Canada should be elected and governing.

After finding out the government has spent money to own other countries News stations they probably telling these people the free benefits they would receive. And who wouldn't try to come and receive money and housing. The government should be ashamed of themselves putting these people through this. But that's stopping because Elon found out and Trump stopped paying.

Who gives ? \nGet em out \n\nI'm noticing that there are some folks doing some serious whining about the Trump administration. So I thought I'd post some thoughts. \n\n1. Accept the fact that this is the leadership that we (the majority of) working, middle class Americans wanted. We are pulling the economic weight in this country and we are tired of pulling the weight of those that do not contribute.\n\n2. If you haven't already, get a job. Every business in the country is hiring. And you get paid for the work you do. And the harder you work and the more you learn, the faster you will advance, and the more you will earn. It's an amazing concept.\n\n3. Understand that if you are a U.S. Citizen, or have already started the legal process to become a U.S. Citizen that you are not going to get deported! I don't care what your favorite liberal media channel says.\n\n4. Tariffs are a bargaining chip. When you are in business you make deals, and sometimes you have to play hardball. That's how you get the deals you desire.\n\n5. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects you from discrimination by age, sex, race, etc. DEI openly violates this. Democrats want you to believe the opposite is true because they value your vote more than your quality of life.\n\n6. It's not the government's money, it's your money. You absolutely should give a damn about how it is spent.\n\n7. We are not the World Bank. If other countries need help they should raise their own finances. I don't recall receiving any hurricane relief money from India or China.\n\n8. Drill baby, drill. Want to know why? Because we have it. Are electric cars the future? Not in their current form. There is way more oil in the ground than lithium, and guess where most of that is? China. Want food prices to come down? Then energy costs have to come down. And that means oil, gas, coal, and nuclear. Unicorn farts and liberal tears won't power your car!\n\n9. The economy and the security of the country are far more important than your feelings, get over it.\n\n10. There are men and there are women. Simple as that.\n\n11. Education is to establish a learning core that prepares a child for the real, working world. Anything else is wrong.\n\n12. Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States and he won by a landslide — both the popular vote and the electorial vote. Get over it.

Nothing new, especially from CNN(Clinton news network), who really hates President Donald Trump. These Indian illegal aliens are no different from Central and South American illegal aliens who were deported the same ways. These Indian illegal aliens committed crimes when they crossed the US border illegally, and just like anyone that were deported using military planes, these illegal aliens would be transported on shackles and cuffed. It's the standard procedure applied to all, even for American citizens. If the Indian government is upset about the whole thing, then they can send private planes to pick up their uninvited citizens back to their country. Plain and simple!!

Crazy \nHow the MEDIA insights HATE... An ILLEGAL is an ILLEGAL, not just in this county but all countries... We should arrest the US ambassador in this same way not because of documents but because of treating Indians like this way. Our action should slap on clown Trump's face.\nYes they did mistake. At least they should be treated with basic respect. \nSame way can Trump treat 1 UK and Isreal citizens?\n\nI respect Canadian government for immediate slap against Trump

Kudos to Trump. This is how you work for your people instead of spreading fake global peace (war) to get Nobel Peace Prize. As an Indian I hope our government uses this opportunity to restart NRC but this time with special taskforce for this crime instead of relying on police. Every nation has the right to prioritize their citizens especially over illegal immigrants.

The constitutional truth of the 14 amendment section ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE OF 1770 to 1866 as a correction to the Dred Scott decision. President Trump is correct there must be an Enslaved historical experience in America for those trying to use the 14th amendment. \n\nThe amendment was specifically written for the D.O.E.S.AA (Descendants Of EnSlaved Africans in America) and Not Recent Immigrants post 1968 civil rights bill. \n\nIndividuals are trying to hide the time line and who specifically the governments population it was intended.

Trump needs to fix Canadas immigration system. The Canadian government is so weak and stupid.
|
| 2025-02-05 | 0 |
Can you blame them. The previous administration offered a premium benefits package to any and everyone who wanted it. It was a literal freeforall. Now that a non globalist, non(I'm just going to say it)ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT administration is handling the border of the US, these people are stunned. They are pissed off that the free ride is over. Chances are, President Trump would love nothing more than to do business with the countries sending these people. He would love to make deals that would strengthen their economy, give people a reason to live there. Maybe these leaders should bring something to the table other than droves of their own citizens complaining about how bad the situation has become in their home countries. We've already got enough of those here as it is. Sorry.

They leave their country, go to Mexico then try to illegally come into the USA. Why not stay in Mexico. The US can't even take care of its own. Trump needs to do more to protect the borders. \n The illegals that are here get more money from the government than us veterans. I can barely pay my mortgage with my social security and it's a low mortgage.

The tariffs were to incentivise Canada and Mexico to help stop the flow of fentanyl into the u.s. the tariffs didn't need to happen. if these governments helped curb drug flow by securing their own borders there wouldn't have been tariffs. Instead they sided with China that makes the drug that kills 15,000 people a year in the u.s.. these people's blood is on your hands and your reason for doing it? you don't like trump.. you just had to secure the borders so people would stop needlessly dying, but you just wouldn't do it..

Trump says EU tariffs will ‘definitely happen’ as Mexico, Canada and China retaliate
\nTrump takes softer line on UK, saying ‘I think that one can be worked out’, while Mexico and Canada vow levies and to strengthen ties with each other

\nDonald Trump has threatened to widen the scope of his trade tariffs, repeating his warning that the European Union – and potentially the UK – will face levies, even as he conceded that Americans could bear some of the economic brunt of a nascent global trade war.
\n
\nIt comes as Trump’s tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, announced on Saturday, sparked retaliation from all three countries. Mexico and Canada have vowed levies of their own while China and Canada are seeking legal challenges.
\n
\nTrump said on Sunday night that new tariffs on the EU will “definitely happen”, repeating previous complaints about the large US trade deficit with the bloc and his desire for Europe to import more American cars and agricultural products.
\n
\nEmpty shelves remain with signs ''Buy Canadian Instead'' after the top five US liquor brands were removed from sale at a British Columbia liquor store in Vancouver.

\n“It will definitely happen with the European Union, I can tell you that,” he told reporters. “I wouldn’t say there’s a timeline but it’s going to be pretty soon.”
\n
\nTrump appeared to take a softer line on the UK, citing a good relationship with prime minister Keir Starmer while saying tariffs still “might happen”. “The UK is out of line but I’m sure that one, I think that one can be worked out,” he said.
\n
\n“Well Prime Minister Starmer’s been very nice, we’ve had a couple of meetings, we’ve had numerous phone calls, we’re getting along very well, we’ll see whether or not we can balance out our budget.”
\n
\nIn Canada, the department of finance published a list of US products imported into Canada that it will target with a 25% retaliatory tariff starting on Tuesday.
\n
\nThe list shows products that will be hit in the first round of retaliatory tariffs by Canada starting on Tuesday, and mounts to $30bn Canadian dollars’ worth of goods (about US$20bn). The impacted products include tobacco, produce, household appliances, firearms and military gear.
\n
\nCanada is also preparing for a second, broader round of retaliatory tariffs in 21 days that will target an additional C$125bn (US$86bn) worth of US imports. The second list would include passenger vehicles, trucks, steel and aluminum products, certain fruits and vegetables, beef, pork, dairy products and more.

Trump is imposing steep tariffs on major US trading partners Canada, Mexico and China, with a lower rate on Canadian energy imports, said the White House on February 1, 2025. Washington will impose a 25 percent levy on imports from Canada and Mexico, with a 10 percent rate on Canadian energy resources, until both work with the United States on drug trafficking and immigration. \nClaudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s president, said her government will provide more details on the retaliatory tariffs she ordered on US goods on Monday. Sheinbaum, in a statement on Sunday, said she will announce details on her government’s “plan B” as she insisted that Mexico “doesn’t want confrontation”.
\n
\n“Problems are not addressed by imposing tariffs, but with talks and dialogue,” she said. “Sovereignty is not negotiable: coordination yes, subordination no.”
\n
\n'Coordination yes, subordination no': Mexican president responds to Trump's tariffs – video
\nSheinbaum and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau spoke by phone on Saturday after Trump’s administration imposed the new tariffs – 25% on goods from Canada and Mexico, with a lower rate of 10% for Canadian oil, and 10% on imports from China.
\n
\nTrudeau’s office said in a statement that Canada and Mexico agreed “to enhance the strong bilateral relations” between their countries. Canadian officials have had extensive dialogue with their Mexican counterparts, but a senior Canadian official said he would not go as far as to say the tariff responses were coordinated.
\n
\n“Now is the time to choose products made right here in Canada,” Trudeau posted Sunday on X. “Check the labels. Let’s do our part. Wherever we can, choose Canada.”
\n
\nTrump acknowledged the sweeping tariffs he has imposed on Mexico, Canada and China may cause “short term” pain for Americans as global markets reflected concerns the levies could undermine growth and reignite inflation. Asian markets, cryptocurrencies and US and European stock futures slumped in early Asian trading on Monday.
\n
\n“We may have short term some little pain, and people understand that. But long term, the United States has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world,” he said. day, Trudeau said: “We’re certainly not looking to escalate, but we will stand up for Canada.” However on Sunday evening, a senior government official from Canada briefing reporters in Ottowa on condition of anonymity said: “We will obviously pursue the legal recourse that we believe we have through the agreements that we share with the United States.”
\n
\nThe official said the Canadian government considered the move by Trump illegal and said it violates the trade commitments between the two countries under their free trade agreement and under the World Trade Organization.
\n
\n“If other legal avenues are available to us, they will be considered as well,” the official said.
\n
\nCanada is the largest export market for 36 states, and Mexico is the largest trading partner of the US.
\n
\nCanada and Mexico ordered the tariffs despite Trump’s further threat to increase the duties charged if retaliatory levies are placed on US goods.
\n
\nChina also said it would file a lawsuit against the tariffs. The imposition of tariffs by the US “seriously violates” World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, China’s commerce ministry said in a statement, urging the US to “engage in frank dialogue and strengthen cooperation”.
\n
\nFiling a lawsuit with the WTO would be a largely symbolic move that Beijing has also taken against tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles by the EU.
\n
\nThe commerce ministry also said the tariffs were “not only unhelpful in solving the US’s own problems, but also undermine normal economic and trade cooperation”. China has said it would take countermeasures to “safeguard its own rights and interests”. It is not clear exactly what form these will take yet. But for weeks Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has said Beijing believes there is no winner in a trade war.
\n
\nLate Sunday night, Trump said he would speak with Trudeau on Monday morning and shortly after said he would speak with Mexico as well, although he did not specify that he would speak with Sheinbaum.
\n
\nBeyond the official response, people were already thinking of ways to cope with Trump’s decision, including by sharing suggestions on social media for alternatives to US products.

\nOne fan at the Raptors game chose to sit during the anthem while wearing a Canada hat. Joseph Chua, who works as an importer, said he expects to feel the tariffs “pretty directly”. “I’ve always stood during both anthems. I’ve taken my hat off to show respect to the American national anthem, but today we’re feeling a little bitter about things,” he said, adding that he will start to avoid buying US products.
\n
\nIn the streets, people in Mexico were trying to absorb the announcement on Sunday, although some in the capital acknowledged that they were unaware of the measures.
\n
\nIn the border city of Mexicali, across from Calexico, California, some people were concerned about the wider implications of a trade war.
\n
\nDriver Alejandro Acosta says that he crosses the border weekly in his truck to deliver vegetables to US companies. He said he fears US businesses in the Mexicali Valley will no longer want to operate in Mexico and they will move to the US.
\n
\n“If they raise taxes on the factories here, jobs may also decrease,” he said.

Tariffs are consumer taxes on imports, collected from your own citizens, whenever they buy products or services from other countries. Trump said he would reduce taxes. He told voters other countries paid for Tariffs. They Don’t. They just lose sales, due to diminished demand. Tariffs are another way for the US government to tax its own people and reduce its trade deficit . It’s probably about time. USA has had a trade deficit every year, since 1970.

Trudeau has resigned, and soon he is leaving. So what will be his last gift?\nHe is leaving the coming government in an economic fight of retaliation. \ninstead of leaving them on a negotiation table on how to resolve the illegal immigrants problem and fight against fentanyl drugs. \nI would prefer to find solutions on these two issues because there won't be any tarrif or money involved. but if they are starting a fight with Trump. It might involve a lot of things.\nJust look at how he frozen the federal government funds, so pick up a retaliation fight and see where it will end. \nLearn from the Colombian President. What do you have to lose? \nI FORESEE CANADA AND MEXICO ECONOMIES COLLAPSING. YOU WILL TELL ME I WAS RIGHT. DON'T FIGHT TRUMP WITH STUPIDITY OF RETALIATION.

Don't buy into this Canadians.
\nThese Liberals are delighted they can now campaign against Trump instead of Canada's conservatives.
\nTrudeau's tariffs on American imports will directly raise prices in Canada, not the US, and will provide a windfall of tax money for his spendthrift government.
|
| 2025-02-02 | 0 |
I'm just speculating, but obviously Trump's stated reasons for the tariffs against Canada don't reflect his real strategy. He wants to exert maximum pain and pressure on the current liberal government in Canada so that its more likely a conservative like Poilievre will get elected. Then, he'll end the tariffs handing him a victory and thus solidifying a conservative influence. Maybe. In any case, he wants more influence over Canada and its unnerving to watch.

I am a Canadian in Alberta and the reality is that the Liberals have weakened the Canadian economy and our standing in the world. Their decision to cripple our oil and gas industry and our lack of ability export our products elsewhere in the world is an issue created by the policies of the Liberals. To impose a carbon tax and further weaker the average Canadian is terrible. There are some policies I don't like out of the U.S. but the reality is that it is never an idea to pick a fight with the toughest kid on the block knowing you will lose. Trump doesn't even want the tariffs he wants Canada to pull it's weight in defense spending and cooperation. Trudeau backstabbed Trump in the past and that won't be forgotten. We need a new government with a leader that understands more than being a drama teacher and snowboarder. Unfortunately, most of the significant issues Canada faces is the result of self inflicted wounds resulting from incompetent leadership. We didn't have anywhere close this level of issues with the Harper government. We are lucky to have the U.S. as a neighbor so let's do what is good for both nations but there is no way the woke Liberal's can do it.

Keep in mind that the Trump's Trade War is a distraction to cover for the horrific dismantling of the American Government and Democracy, as well as his horrific choices for Cabinet positions and Heads of Departments. / NO, Pierre Poilievre will not be our PM, he's a smarmy Trumplican.

Some migrants release from jail from their government to live in the US, so unfair to Americans, living with criminals anywhere. Thank you Pres. Trump.

Trump is actually helping Canada with this move. Governments have to fight tooth and nail these days to get protectionist laws passed and protect their industry but here Trump just made Canada do it. The Trump administration knows what they are doing.

What is sickening and sad is that the leader of the Conservative Party in Canada fully, absolutely endorses everything Donald Trump does. Pierre. is anti-Canadian Pierre is anti-liberal anti-government, but pro Republican pro Trump and Pro Project 2025. Pierre is a horrible, terrible, evil person to Canada and Canadians Pierre wants to be leader of the Republican Party of Canada and governor of the 51st state.
