Everyone whining about the deportations are mad at the wrong people. Democrats are the ones who coaxed all these people up here with promises of free stuff to use them as political pawns knowing full well this day would come.

The reporter misdirected the whole story. The story was about tariffs and their effects on both the U.S. consumers and the public as well as the country of Colombia. The story is not about how people planning to come to to the U.S. feel, even though that is of interest. This is an example of how the media and reporters miss the point. Bad journalism.

Colombia's President said >>>> Trump, I don't really like travelling to the US, it's a bit boring, but I confess that there are some commendable things. I like going to the black neighbourhoods of Washington, where I saw an entire fight in the US capital between blacks and Latinos with barricades, which seemed like nonsense to me, because they should join together.
\n
\nI confess that I like Walt Whitman and Paul Simon and Noam Chomsky and Miller
\n
\nI confess that Sacco and Vanzetti, who have my blood, are memorable in the history of the USA and I follow them. They were murdered by labor leaders with the electric chair, the fascists who are within the USA as well as within my country
\n
\nI don't like your oil, Trump, you're going to wipe out the human species because of greed. Maybe one day, over a glass of whiskey, which I accept, despite my gastritis, we can talk frankly about this, but it's difficult because you consider me an inferior race and I'm not, nor is any Colombian.
\n
\nSo if you know someone who is stubborn, that's me, period. You can try to carry out a coup with your economic strength and your arrogance, like they did with Allende. But I will die in my law, I resisted torture and I resist you. I don't want slavers next to Colombia, we already had many and we freed ourselves. What I want next to Colombia are lovers of freedom. If you can't accompany me, I'll go elsewhere. Colombia is the heart of the world and you didn't understand that, this is the land of the yellow butterflies, of the beauty of Remedios, but also of the colonels Aureliano Buendía, of which I am one, perhaps the last.
\n
\nYou will kill me, but I will survive in my people, which is before yours, in the Americas. We are peoples of the winds, the mountains, the Caribbean Sea and of freedom.
\n
\nYou don't like our freedom, okay. I don't shake hands with white slavers. I shake hands with the white libertarian heirs of Lincoln and the black and white farm boys of the USA, at whose graves I cried and prayed on a battlefield, which I reached after walking the mountains of Italian Tuscany and after being saved from Covid.
\n
\nThey are the United States and before them I kneel, before no one else.
\n
\nOverthrow me, President, and the Americas and humanity will respond.
\n
\nColombia now stops looking north, looks at the world, our blood comes from the blood of the Caliphate of Cordoba, the civilization of that time, of the Roman Latins of the Mediterranean, the civilization of that time, who founded the republic, democracy in Athens; our blood has the black resistance fighters turned into slaves by you. In Colombia is the first free territory of America, before Washington, of all America, there I take refuge in its African songs.
\n
\nMy land is made up of goldsmiths who worked in the time of the Egyptian pharaohs and of the first artists in the world in Chiribiquete.
\n
\nYou will never rule us. The warrior who rode our lands, shouting freedom, who is called Bolívar, opposes us.
\n
\nOur people are somewhat fearful, somewhat timid, they are naive and kind, loving, but they will know how to win the Panama Canal, which you took from us with violence. Two hundred heroes from all of Latin America lie in Bocas del Toro, today's Panama, formerly Colombia, which you murdered.
\n
\nI raise a flag and as Gaitán said, even if it remains alone, it will continue to be raised with the Latin American dignity that is the dignity of America, which your great-grandfather did not know, and mine did, Mr. President, an immigrant in the USA,
\n
\nYour blockade does not scare me, because Colombia, besides being the country of beauty, is the heart of the world. I know that you love beauty as I do, do not disrespect it and you will give it your sweetness.
\n
\nFROM TODAY ON, COLOMBIA IS OPEN TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, WITH OPEN ARMS, WE ARE BUILDERS OF FREEDOM, LIFE AND HUMANITY.
\n
\nI am informed that you impose a 50% tariff on the fruits of our human labor to enter the United States, and I do the same.
\n
\nLet our people plant corn that was discovered in Colombia and feed the world

Not necessarily the Colombians that were returned to Colombia are bad people! Many do not find opportunities in their country and leave it to look for work, and better ways to live. And many Colombians are very well welcomed IN USA!
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Isn’t it funny that Columbia can have closed borders, but Biden was flying them into America? Why would Columbia not want their own people? Ohhh, because they are dangerous! Why should we treat them well, but Columbia can’t welcome them with open arms? They are criminals of they come here against our laws!
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Tariffs don't affect what Colombia pays, it affects what _we_ pay. So he's doing these things to cost the people money, not another country. Tariffs cost us!! Still waiting for eggs, groceries, and home costs to go down...wasn't that supposed to be day 1? Oh, and peace in Ukraine. Glad this is all going so well...out wait...
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
This is too funny ?. Just keep issuing even more tariffs is only going to come back to bite us in the butt to us consumers. We get a lot of imported goods from other countries, the costs for us to purchase everyday things you enjoy is going to go up as well. I don’t understand how people don’t understand that.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Well, it makes sense that Columbia wouldn’t want their criminals back. Maybe the government corruption should spend more on reforming their old people.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Well, this is good. Why the hell aren’t these countries taking back their own people because they know that those individuals are no good that’s why they sent them to us in the first place so this is a good thing. That being said he needs to ease back on with these other two countries I mean really we trade with them a lot talk about getting expensive mercy. 3:41 why does CNN have all these specialist and analyst on? They are always totally wrong and bias and one sided I mean come on they put the story out knowing that Columbia was gonna fold immediately so all this talk is for nothing just making people fearful of outcomes that have already been decided so they need to get off gas and shut the hell up I don’t know why you click on CNN they have not been telling the truth for years

Close their embassy in the USA kick out all their political people and their families that live here and refuse all flights from Columbia as well, and all flights from anywhere that has Columbians on it dont permit them to get off flights

CNN, as usual, distorting the facts in an effort to manipulate/brainwash their viewers. There was NOT 271,000 deportations by ICE under Biden in 2024. That figure reflects the people who were already AT the border, and then detained/sent back. The figures Trump's Admin released are the number of illegals that ICE actually rounded up within the US... and the reason there were so many illegals AT the border under Biden is because under his pathetic Administration the border was wide-open. That's NOT the case under Trump, who immediately shut down the border. CNN is pure GARBAGE. They, like all the illegals, should be deported as well!!

At one time no South American country would have dared defy a US president and risk invasion and regime change, now they all openly defy Trump with abandon since the rise of BRICS. Colombia has applied to join BRICS and these retaliatory tariffs will simply speed that up. Colombia stated quite clearly - we will not accept undocumented migrants who have done nothing wrong but work, pay their tax and behave as excellent members of US society - basically Trump try somewhere else to dump your unwanted workers. Americans' favourite Colombian coffees have just become 25% more expensive, millions of cups of Colombian coffee is drunk the US every week.
\n\nTrump’s ridiculous comment about Jordan, Egypt and other Gulf countries taking Palestinians whilst Gaza is rebuilt is equally stupid; those countries cannot accept forcibly expelled, ethnically cleansed Gazans because that would be a War Crime and render those countries liable to be accused of complicity in a War Crime by the International Court of Justice; they would also incur the wrath of their respective populations and put their governments at risk of being overthrown.
\n\nAll the surrounding countries and the International Community needs to do is to flood Gaza with thousands of tons of humanitarian aid and millions of large family-sized tents, as well as mobile toilets and washing facilities. Supply bulldozers and rubble removing machinery to clean the land up as quickly as possible, as well as bomb detection kits to protect the children. The Gazan people are incredibly resilient and will happily live in tents whilst their country is being rebuilt around them, and the State of Palestine begins to emerge again.
\n??

Well I guess people in other countires drink coffee and would aprecciate other goods that Colombia also has to offer. Colombia should unite to the BRICS and leave the US to get those products somewhere else. From what I see, America needs more from Colombia than Colombia from them. Believe me, there are other nations that want to do business with Colombia.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Both sides lack enormous diplomatic skills. Trump is sending migrants back enchained which is is humanly degrading, and Petro is handling it like a toddler as well, knowing a lot of people depend on exports to the US.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
No offense, since I don’t know if you guys drink coffee or not, but You do realize other countries export to the US. Have never heard of Guatemalan, Brazil, Peru, Marrocan, Ethiopia, Belgium, Costa Rican coffee? Arab countries etc. They all make great coffee. Coffee is not only from Colombia. There’s so various countries producing great coffee .\n\nThey all export coffee to the US. Unless you ONLY like Colombian coffee this shouldn’t be a problem. I’m sure this benefits other countries to expand. Each with distinct flavors and aromas. \n\nStarbucks imports coffee from over 30 different countries from Latin America, Africa, Middle East. \n\nIt’s like if Trump puts a 25% tariff on French wine. I love my French wine and it would suck. But I still love my Italian and Washington State wine.\n\nBananas like mention also come from other countries as well like Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras etc. \nBasically other countries exist that benefit from this. The only problem I could see is they can’t produce enough . Which I doubt. And I’m sure African countries or other countries can under cut prices if others try to inflate prices just to get market share in the US. \n\nAlthough, coffee prices are not only determined by supply and demand. Country of origin and brand also plays a role. Like I said it’s like wine. I love my cheap Washington State Merlots and my Italian Chianti, but people still buy over price California and French wine .

Well done! Refuse to take your own Colombian Citizens back, then accept the Tariffs.\nColombia, you better take care of your own people.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
They are not from Columbia. The people are from multiple other countries as well.
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Well that speaks volumes now doesn’t it? Colombia doesn’t want their own people back in their country but the Americans should accept their garbage ?
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
And all the lawyers and all the people are protesting to see that they stay in America and they come in illegally all the lawyers they should get arrested as well because you cannot come here illegally and they have lawyers working with them no get their lawyers arrested
|

The Indian immigrants that came in the 70s and the 80s are good people and raised their family well. Not the recent ones who throw food on the street.
|
| 2025-01-25 | 0 |
As a Brit I know many decent integrated Indians here. But none of them are recent arrivals. Older immigrants were respectful and wanted to be British and adopt British ways. But newer immigrants act as if we owe them something while acting in disrespectful dirty disgusting ways. For example in India I have to use Indian toilets as Indians do. I don’t pretend I don’t understand how to use them, I don’t need instructions on the door and I don’t break the toilet by standing on it, shytting up the walls and all over the floor and leave it there like that’s normal. I’ve worked in offices where this was routine when Indian contractors were brought in. Integrated Indian men seem to take great pride in dressing smartly and smelling good. But it’s really common for Indians to smell REALLY BAD. Poor personal hygiene plus excessive amounts of Indian food (you’re abroad ffs try some different food!) creates a truly vile odour. Some Indian men also think it acceptable to stare at and harass British girls (although to be fair they do not have as bad a reputation as their neighbours) they are also rude and racist to white people especially women. Some Indians in 2025 still seem to think they’re living under the Raj and Britain is ‘oppressing’ them. They’re not and we’re not. The empire brought benefits to India and left peacefully over 70 YEARS ago. We don’t owe you ANYTHING. This victim mentality means India will NEVER be a proper first world country. You can flood the world with sheer numbers but you will never be respected or improve the world in any way, you will only ever leech off the invention of others. I do not mean to disrespect the many decent Indian people I’m just telling the truth. As a culture your presence outside of India is negative because of the way so many Indians act, trying to create India wherever they go. And they have the cheek to say this is ok because they got colonised. WELL SO DID WE! That is the truth.

God what a mess. I can see why Trumps putting Americans first- and it’s changing the game on immigration - so sad these people feel they need to leave their home country as they have no hope because their useless leaders are corrupt and dangerous - the UN and all these other big organisations have failed dismally and only serve the well paid bureaucrats who prop them up…. Look at the faces of those desperate people- heartbreaking. But America shouldn’t have to be their only solution.
|
| 2025-01-25 | 0 |
This is crazy!!! Have these people lost their mind!!! They are only making things worse for themselves. Do it the right way!!! You can’t break into someone’s home and think it’s going to go well with the owner. Same for each country!!
|
| 2025-01-25 | 0 |
Well, Trump is getting ready to kick out the ones already here. We really don't have the means to take care of them. We have homeless people from fires in our own country. Didn't want to list all our problems. But please retreat and go hack home.

This is addressed mainly to the ugly Indian: My generation came to the racist west and built a golden reputation. We worked hard, assimilated, paid our taxes, and obeyed the laws. We were humble. We celebrated our native cultures within the confines of our communities. While it was frustrating to be invisible in white culture, we never sought to conquer them with our culture. We were ethical to the hilt. Our generations were poor -- yet we struggled to help others in India and in the west. We were NEVER on the dole. Personally I think it is rude to enter a nation (in the west or anywhere in the world) with naked opportunism. Speaking for myself -- despite neocolonialism, I admired western civilization, especially its older forms.
\n
\nBut the ugly Indian who comes now is loud, brash, socially irresponsible, exploitative, money-hungry, opportunistic, and arrogant beyond belief (full of the hubris that comes from sudden new wealth). They look down on us who have been here a while. They are used to a servant-culture and look down on white working class people, as if they are servants. As for second generation Indians in the west, they can be racist towards us first generations. But the opposite is true as well. Indian newcomers see them as an alien species. Indians do tend to hire their own and stick to their own identities -- I do not mean the Indian identity, but their native state identities. All this feeds into the primary and secondary forms of western racism that are already simmering beneath the surface. This new genre of Indians is destroying the goodwill we have built. I have personally witnessed arrogant young Indian students cutting the line to reach the front desk. No manners, no ethics. As a first generation Indian immigrant I get annoyed. So why shouldn't native born westerners (who are already racist)?
\n
\nBut to complain about how they smell is rude beyond belief. This must stop.

Fentanyl deaths, gang shootings inflation etc. Calling for open borders dems?? well they need to stop calling people racists for not wanting open borders due to these issues they never address mind you no country allows open borders..and they say amnesty for all?
|

This is Biden's fault for creating the expectation of open immigration. People suffer and now Trump has to deal with this as well.
|

you are kind of discriminatory while you make this video..There are bad people here from every country , china, middle east, africa, mexico and even europe. Even the whites here are not all original, they migrated and did shameful things to Indigenous people. There are Indians who have assimiliated here well including Ministers, Police, Scientists, CEO’s. All over in US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia..Yes you can make a video to request fellow people to stop doing such things. But that doesn’t mean you can shame us or type cast anyone. There is trash of every colour.

As an NRI for a decade in Germany, I can assure you that not a single person in the developed western world looks at India with a nicer opinion. They think of it as a necessary baggage. They will only allow Visa on Arrival/E-Visa for people whom they respect and would like to be in the country. While I do not want to get into how some Indians behave when they are on their EU trip, Indians in India do not behave well too. This involves hygiene, roads, infrastructure, intelligence, corruption, etc. Indians tend to look at the Indian flag with tears in their eyes while listening to A.R. Rahman’s “Vande Mataram” with Bharat Bala’s video. But the reality in the western world is this: India is a loud, messy, unhygienic, poorly organized country filled with corruption and crime everywhere. Now, why would a well-developed country open their doors to potentially unruly 1.4 billion people? The reason for visa rejection is that a lot of them simply apply for a tourist visa and never leave. If someone really needs to travel, they will have the money and the motivation to apply multiple times. Hence, the first check with multiple layers of bureaucracy.

3,300 only represents 20%? That's a s**t ton of people working for the government's immigration department. Does the government really need 16,500 employees just to process immigration applications? Sounds like a whole lot of bloat to me. Well... that's the government for you.
|

People are worried they might be deported for being illegal immigrants and the impact that may have on their family? Well they should have respected the removal order telling them to leave!
|
| 2025-01-21 | 0 |
This is exactly what we voted for. I did not vote for the man, because I have higher priorities than immigration; but my heart is not breaking about enforcing our borders either. Neither am I empowered to gainsay the democratic will of the people. If you don’t have a border, and you cannot keep your people safe and reap the products of your work, you don’t have a nation. Europe would do well to remember that

As a country there is nothing wrong with Mexico and many Americans retire there. I dont understand why people can't migrate there? I mean they are already there, and living well why do they need to proceed to America?

I have lived in Canada most of my life. I've felt lonely here most of the time. It is a rich county but so isolating. It's hard to make friends as an adult. It's very multicultural so people don't make an effort to meet people outside of their circle. It got worse after the pandemic. If I could, as a black woman, I would move to Mexico but I can't afford to support myself there. My profession keeps me here in Canada, well-off financially, but lonely.
