Last Nihang sikhs chopped Indian policeman hand with swords, nihangs killed innocent people in the name of protecting religion, keep dummy swords or knife if your religion make it mandatory but actually carrying the whole weapon is risk for everyone around.

He should keep that inside... keeping out is a sign of arrogance. Follow your religion but dont intimidate people of Global power??

Don't leave your territory your country. It's right in context to other countries. If you go to different nation it's their rules their land. For example Muslim nations don't allow other religions and practices in their territory while they do all they want in different countries. You can't have a citizenship in middle eastern countries and half of the middle eastern people are American now. Rules are equal for all, don't get offended though.

It's mandatory to wear kripan in Sikh religion. But can't we hide it under clothes like I've seen with most Sikh people. He was doing Showbazi.

So I work for the prison service in the UK. Our Sikh chaplain wears a knife as part of his religion. Except, the blade is make from rubber and has no sharp edge to it.\n\nWhy not do this?? I speak for myself and not on behalf of anyone.\n\nFirstly, in any such situation be it any religion, caste etc, before reacting, imagine if this was happening to your own son/daughter, your own brother/sister. \n\nSecondly what faith one chooses to practice and how they embrace it, be it wearing a kirpan, a burqa, or keeping a shika(choti), etc, especially opinions like what one can or cannot wear/do, lead to more harm than good. We don't live there, it's not our religion, it's not our life, then who are we to condemn and be opinionated about them.\n\nThirdly, whether the kirpan should be allowed inside an educational campus can only be determined by the campus authorities, the local police and the Sikh community representatives there.\n\nYes, he could have and should have worn it on the inside just like so many Brahmins wear the sacred white thread (yajnopavita).\n\nHe could have taken prior permission from the college authorities to freely wear it if possible and all this could have been avoided. Maybe he doesn't get the permission to wear it, who knows, there are countless possibilities.\n\nAnd lastly, I've come across so many comments labelling the Sikhs as Khalistanis, then if there's some other incident, commenting that people of so and so faith are terrorists, etc.\n\nBy all means, please call us Khalistanis, please call us terrorists, call us anything you like, but we'll continue to respect and love everyone.\n\nIt's a shame that our Jawaans are dying on the border fighting for their country, fighting for our country, fighting for us and we are creating divisions amongst ourselves. People should realize boundaries of practicing religion

Can everybody also practice their religion without regard towards other people beliefs and their religions? It would never work out for everybody and that’s why he’s selfish and inconsiderate towards others.

I don't see an issue here as long as I can carry an ar15 as part of my religion ? but seriously at least he was calm and respectful... You cannot display and carry the weapon around like that. I understand it’s got a religious significance, but this keeps other people on the edge. Practice your religion freely until it doesn’t affect/interfere others.

i wouldnt be comfortable around someone carrying a knife. Religion makes people stupid..if its your tradition practice it in your home..

i respect that police officer too...who did wat a police officer should do for safety of people....he is a sikh and he is in another country where not everyone know about the religion , culture and things that other religious people carry with them...so he did his duty....and thn after knowing everything about the kirpan they apologies...thats how a country should do and respect other culture and religion

Religion isn't more important than people's lives. There's no use of a KNIFE in a COLLEGE CAMPUS.

Maybe he has religious intentions but we need to understand its not India, its USA and they have their own laws + there are many many incidents where school shooting happens or people get killed by things so people are scared of anything that they think can harm them. I am not saying calling police on someone is right just bcz they are following religion but we need to know where to follow your religion. Applies for india too, we can't take kirpan in colleges in india, can we?

The problem is that often times due to religious practices, a lot of people from minority communities are targeted and have to undergo a lot of scruitiny. Sikhs are amongst the most kind and generous people in the world, apart from being brave, sure this world makes a joke out of them but it is important for people to understand that our religion is important to us, we do follow the rules and regulations laid down by the country but others too have to respect who we are and where we come from, it might seem odd to carry around a kirpan but then again that is no reason to violate someone like this, or their religion's sancitity.

After an accident, I had to go through a leg surgery. Back home hospital lost my file and made me wait for years.\nHere I was handled with love and care when the hospital staff learnt that I have no family here. They stayed with me and watched on me after my surgery.\nI love Canada and my Canadian friends and all adopted families.\nThis is the best decision in my entire life that's why when I die I will donate all my organs and help others.\nI am allowed to keep dual citizenship but I don't care about back home.\nI am Canadian, I have a good job cause I worked for it, I speak 5 languages including French. Did they not leave their own country because of such restrictions, a bunch of hypocrites, following a false religion, bunch of sick people that follow a prophet who was a baby rapist.

Most racism exists within India, people get killed based on their religion, caste and what not. Being yelled at is probably the least of the racist behavior if you been in India. Even in some states, like maharasthra, north Indians were beaten for just being there and ‘taking up their jobs’….. mobs violently lynches and kill people for being muslim, or of ‘lower caste’…. Just last week a 65 year old man was beaten to death by a hindu, who suspected that this guy was a muslim. Turns out that he wasn’t a muslim.

If you ask me, India has also become a lonely country. Unless you like to stay within a single community, religion, FAMILY etc. you become isolated. And cities are now full of tall apartment buildings where people are locked away. Same with gated communities everywhere and suburbs. Lonely people watching the world on TV.

To be honest I left Canada because of the school system is destroying kids believe in my religion and people in Canada don’t want to communicate with immigrants as a white Arab guy they talk to me but as soon as they ask my name emmm yeah and taxes

The point is, I have been a minority here in india and the hate I receive for being a follower of a religion make them hate on me and my fellow people. I really wanna get out of this shithole. I'm also feeling very suicidal thinking about the situation I'm in.
