So, why is it that this guy makes it seem like they haven't been taken advantage of the U.S. since they have been able to! He is also lying about that northern border, too. It's easier up there bcuz that border isn't as secure as the southern border. I guarantee you their statistics for fentynal crossing in via Canada is wrong. Those are just the statistics for the fentynal they caught, not the shit they haven't caught! Tariffs shouldn't have had to be the reason for Canada to do their job. They should have already been doing their job at that border. Trump had to threaten them in order for them to use drones, etc. at the border. They should have been doing that. This shows that they were already taking advantage of the weak ass government who just left office. Maybe he should just become the 51st state to make it all much simpler!

Trump is completely unreasonable. There is no sense dealing with him, period. If it is going to be 25% or even 50% with reciprocal tariffs, we simply DO NOT import American goods into Canada (if our retailers don't order them, there is nothing they can do) and if we export, the consumer is paying those tariffs and we continue to manufacture. I honestly think that is the best, maybe the only, solution. If tariffed countries stop buying American goods, maybe Trumputin will reconsider. And if he doesn't, he doesn't. He isn't known for his brain power.

Hope this isn't a distraction from trump doing something even worse behind closed curtains.

As I understand it, the USA was not charging any tariffs to Canada before these were created. But Canada had tariffs to the USA. If that isn't true, then it can at least be said that Canada's tariffs were higher for the similar items than the USA tariffs. And now Canada is complaining? To hell with Canada.

The only thing that makes sense is that President Trump has been compromised. We need to stop for a moment, ignore the chaos and demand an investigation into the President Trump. Too much of his corruption has been aggressively swept under the rug. Agencies that have investigated him have been targeted.\n\nWe know that he is an ego maniac. Why would he do these things that would make people on both sides of the aisle hate him? As a Canadian who lives in (largely French-speaking) Quebec, I don't know if our gov't even NEEDS to tariff American consumer goods, the people here are already boycotting US goods and companies en masse. EVERYBODY is doing it - and the pace isn't going to recede anytime soon. Even after the Orange Turd is long gone, trust me, Canadians will remember this! The American state has proven it cannot be trusted. They have unilaterally broken the trade agreement (negotiated by the previous Donald J Chump administration) on the flimsiest of reasons, the 00.2 % of fentanyl that flows over the border into the US from Canada. That deal now obviously not worth the paper it was signed on.

When trump recommended terrifs everyone cried “oh that will only hurt Americans” but then Canada does it in response and everyone cheers? Like isn’t he by your own logic now screwing Canadians? Which is it people?

This is very scary. Again, what Trump is doing makes no sense - there is no economic or political sense to it. So what is he doing it for ?? To reduce our trade deficit? We have a huge deficit with Canada because we import so much oil from them, which our refiners require. On top of that we get Canadian oil for first cheap when compared to the global price mark for oil. This keeps US petroleum prices LOW! So okay if this is the issue, why not just find ways to improve the economics of U.S. oil production instead of smacking all Canadian imports with a 25% hammer ??? He has ulterior motives and it’s to weaken the American spirit and sell what he has on American to Russia. And our Congress isn’t doing anything !!!
