Trump is such a dumbass. He thinks the tariffs will be paid by exporting countries like Mexico, China, and Canada. The Trump tariffs will be paid by American manufacturers and American consumers. Everything is about to become a lot more expensive in the US, especially with a 25% tariff on the 4.5 million barrels of oil Canada ships to the US every day. At best, inflation becomes a bigger problem, and Americans lose their jobs. At worst, Trump's tariffs cause a made in America recession.

They are indians in usa, I don't understand why they needed visa if they are NRI they should have indian passport and if they have usa passport and have renounced indian citizenship, why did they not apply for OCI. i guess they never planned to come to india that often and this is just an one of affair so they didn't bother to get the OCI. I am a senior and live in Vancouver, BC and my son who has dual citizenship lives in Seattle, WA. His wife and him will move back to Canada when he retires. I visit Seattle and enjoy going there. The shopping is great fun especially with all the big store headquarters being there and we can't forget Trader Joe's. I don't drink alcohol anymore, but the cost, volume and availability is crazy. He also lived in New York and lived a train ride away to the suburbs (great system) and was a lovely area to raise a family. Visited NYC and loved it. I've lived in Montreal and just love big cities. In saying all that, I think were all basically the same, however I could never permamentally live in the US. I can no longer afford the outrageous travel health insurance to travel to the USA because of my age and health issues. I have a primary doctor and four specialists that I see on a regular basis, waiting for a hip replacement and none has cost me a cent. Oh yes, I get free dental care. I wouldn't move to the states, but would sure like to visit again. Politics is a whole other subject.

Brampton got big Punjabi Christian population also. They are good people. I heard that there are close to 100,000 people attending Sunday church service. Indian community in Canada has a big Christian population also especially from the southern province of Kerala. They are mostly in Mississauga, Scarborough and London, Ontario. There is a Roman Catholic diocese in Mississauga for Catholics from India. And Punjabi Christians are mostly Protestant believers.

As a Canadian PR holder, the immigration system is broken. The fact that people who can't speak English, with criminal backgrounds and unqualified individuals can come in and stay while I had to wait 2 years for background checks and a 8.5 IELTS score, is insane. It shows that qualified workers aren't wanted but rather just get as many people from only one single country in the name of multiculturalism. I'm an American, married to a German, and we live in the Southern USA. We spend over a month each year in Germany and Europe. I will say that when it comes to making friends, Germany is far easier than in the Southern US. People here are closed off and absorbed into their own little world (there are exceptions, of course). I've had some bad experiences in Germany but overall have found the people to friendly and welcoming, especially in the North.

Unfortunately it is not true that a majority of the Indians are highly qualified. To be honest many of the Indian students here have poor communication skills and questionable qualifications. What is needed is a more careful selection process. I know of some Indians who are highly trained well educated and an asset to Canada especially in the health and tech fields. At the same time I see many who are not able to pass basic language tests let alone professional examinations.

It is incumbent upon the Canadian government to screen out those applicants who received fake admission letters upon arrival or even before departing for Canada - at the Indian airport of departure. Clearly the priority of the Canadian government was to allow one and all in so as to benefit from the exorbitantly high tuition fees charged to international students - so scrutiny of offer letters took a back seat. The recent crack down on international students (after such a long time) especially in the wake of the impending elections makes Canadians highly skeptical. This is nothing but damage control by the Trudeau government now that they are faced with the prospect of a decimation at the general elections. They needed a scapegoat - what better than to blame international students....the outsider - sound familiar?

The misinterpretation of laws are in direct conflict with early emigration laws in America particularly ‘The Emigration’ Act of 1866 and also naturalization act of 1790 if people keep going back in time using past laws to justify this the more it confuses things. All I know is the intent of the laws need to be accurately interpreted so that it’s clear who they were meant for when they were written because from the way I read and interpret them there is nothing that directly allows for the offspring of illegal and undocumented parents to be granted automatic citizenship. 18:31 I don't think it's so much about being less accepting, it's just that if they live in a small town, there won't be as many fellow immigrants from their ethnic group. Just look at Toronto for example. The Chinese don't move to Brampton, and the Egyptians don't move to Unionville. To a large extent, they move to the parts of the GTA where their own immigrant group lives. Same reason that a Sikh doesn't move to Chinatown is why the Sikh doesn't move to Owen Sound or Kapuskasing - they prefer to be near their own community, especially if they're recent immigrants that haven't integrated that well into the Canadian culture.

Canada is building a tonne of housing as is, a bit less than in the past, so yes, issues with the growth of red tape, zoning, development taxes, etc should be addressed, but the problem has mainly been that the population has been growing at an exponential rate, in the past decade. The construction workforce actually doesn't have that many immigrants - around 77% are Canadian born, compared to 73% of the overall workforce, and I suspect the 23% that are immigrants are probably mostly immigrants that have been here a while, with very few temporary workers (which are mostly in retail/commercial services, elder care, and agriculture). That means immigration has been a bigger problem for increasing housing demand, compared to any benefit to increasing the supply through increasing construction workforce, especially when you consider that the size of the construction workforce is proportional to the total population, while the housing demand is more correlated to population growth. \n\nThere is also the differentiation between expanding infrastructure/housing supply, vs improving/maintaining it. It would not be a bad thing if we were able to shift some of the construction workforce towards improving our stormwater infrastructure, fixing roads, and building transit alternatives (improves quality of life), rather than just building more and more new roads and homes just to keep up with population growth (maintains quality of life).

You must understand one thing. We the people of Canada are not to blame for your situation. It is THE PM. Justin Trudeau and his liberal party who agreed to this.
