My job in Germany paid half of what my job in the US did. Add in the taxes, and I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Happily back in the US.

?this is so accurate. I was in Australia 2011, as a Backpacker ..?it was amazing. The beaches, the landscapes, the people. But, we where surrounded by other tourists. They have 6 million backpackers each year! When I was back in Germany I met an aussie couple and they offered me a job near the great barrier reef. \nI didn't took it, but I would love to visit the country again with my kids this time. Or maybe better New Zealand ?

I'm just waiting for the day where I get the chance to work abroad and leave germany.\nI cannot identify myself with the culture here and I do not feel appreciated enough to live here as a qualified workforce. It's just not for me, Germany is a place where you can only settle down, not rise up and give your life a chance of a lifetime.

It is difficult for Arab peoples to leave an advanced country like Canada, but they leave it for several reasons, including the ones I mentioned. There are also new immigrants who sell everything, their homes and lands, and go to Canada and Germany because their ideas are very old. They do not know that the world is changing.

Because it's too hard to reach the permissions to work, because you need to speak german even if your work doesn't require, because a lot of companies prefer germans or europeans professionals, because your career development is harder if you are not german, basically because Germany is still attached to the mentality of Gastarbeiter. Someone who come to German just to fill a temporary gap.

I have been living 25 years in Germany. Trust me if i say that you don't want to come here. Especially as an immigrant, don't be fooled by their empty promises about opportunities. \nYou can only expect Hypocrisy and hidden racism.

I am a skilled worker who moved to Germany in June 2023, earning around €70,000 annually in a high-skilled job. I hold an EU Blue Card as my residence title. Despite the EU guidelines designed to simplify family reunification for Blue Card holders, my wife is still stuck in our home country 14 months later. This bureaucratic delay has caused immense stress for my family, and I am fed up with the situation. Germany needs skilled labor, but it lacks the necessary support systems. Therefore, I am considering relocating to another country that offers better support for skilled workers and their families.

I am an Indian studying abroad and we had our international study tour to Germany. Before our tour we had a cultural briefing session where they made us aware about the cultural norms especially about Hitler. The Prof. who conducted the briefing sessions specifically told us NOT to mention anything about Hitler. Despite this session, I remember one Indian, when we we had our time off in Germany after lectures, this Indian in the middle of the road went and did the famous Hitler pose. And I was embarrassed to the core. On top of this when I tried to intervene the person was laughing and jokingly said ' See nothing happened to me the Prof. was wrong'. I felt like I should sink or just go and jump in nearby river. This was so embarrassing No wonder people don't like Indians. Additionally, Indians who are following all rules and regulations also gets branded like being obnoxious.

it depends on a company culture, if you work in an international company, everyone speaks english and is connected, does not matter either your native language is italian, german, russian, brazilian etc. so Germany should foster the cultural transformation of the german companies and be more diverse and inclusive. Burocracy must be reduced

Germany needed foreign talent for a veery long time but it is unwelcoming. At the end they are loosing against the competition. What a shame! They were way ahead. Also Germany is loosing its own talent to other countries due to better opportunities. All ads up to Germany lagging behind. One result is VW closing its factories and German workers are crying.

Just went back home to Germany and dread going back to Canada. The prices of rent, groceries, internet, cell phone plans, travelling and alcohol are CRIMINAL in Canada. On top of that it is boring as hell. Time to get out.

By the time Germany understands this all those skilled workers would have left the country. The system is so slow and frustrating, not to mention the discrimination at every level.

Fail to understand WHY UK USA NZ AUSTRALIA CANADA EUROPEAN countries facing ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are WILLING TO SUFFER AND INCURRING BILLIONS OF TAXPAYERS FUNDS IN CARING FOR BOTH LEGAL AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS but NOT FOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE OF MIDDLE EAST ISLAMIC COUNTRIES WHO DO NOT ALLOW ENTRY TO BOTH LEGAL AND ILLEGAL MIGRANTS even though these ISLAMIC COUNTRIES ARE WEALTHY..\nOne European country is reported to be willing to pay US$ to encourage migrants to return to their home countries and Germany is reported to be willing to spend billions of US$ to send them to other countries.\nIllegal immigrants get free food accommodation allowance and other perks once in UK USA EUROPEAN COUNTRIES etc which is a great INCENTIVE TO FACE DANGER WHEN MIGRATING TO THESE COUNTRIES.\nBless all

I am a German American who lived in Germany and was blown away by the casual racism. I'm not at all surprised immigrants feel unwelcome.

So Germany needs workforce but they don't want immigrants. Noted. Just make robots do the work then ?

There are only two things about living in Germany I could never adapt to. The more or less atrocious weather during seven months of the year and the crazy tax burden. I still feel robbed looking at the huge difference between salary stated in my work contract and the actual take-home pay. On top of that, consumer and energy prices are bloated due to abusively high indirect taxes. It's all the worse considering that in neighbouring Switzerland the tax situation is the exact opposite, without compromising government service quality in any way.

While I agree with most of what was said in the video, there are a few major mistakes that are very misleading. For example, the video states that Canadians spends more on gas than any of the G7 members. This is FAR for the truth. I’m a German who moved to Canada 3 years ago. Gas here in Canada is HALF the price of what it is in Germany! So, the per litre price is super cheap in Canada! So, why is the total number on spending for gas so high? Because Canada is insanely HUGE. People drive insane distances and thus need an insane amount of gas. You can’t compare total spending on gas. You would need to compare the price per litre of gas, which is pretty cheap in Canada. In fact, the only country that has cheaper gas than Canada in the G7, is the USA. All the other G7 members pay more per litre.
\n\nThen you also mentioned dairy prices. Yes, they are highly regulated. But compared to Europe, dairy prices are almost the same as in Europe. Again, the only country with cheaper prices in the G7 is the USA. What is (insanely) more expensive however, is meat, housing and groceries in general.\n
\nIn general, your point still stands: Canada is insanely expensive. However, you listed the “wrong” items, because the ones you listed are relatively cheap compared to the G7!

Canada and US are two big countries compared to UK and Germany. skilled Indian and Chinese migration is much better than the asylum seekers of Africa, Syria, Pakistan, Afganistan, Bangladesh.

The struggle with complicated, high taxes system in Germany is one of the reasons which forces firms and Business to cut down labor costs which leads to lower salaries. Skilled people'd better go somewhere else.

What a surprise that you found MY province of Quebec the best to live in. I do speak French which is a necessity for most jobs. Compared to Paris and Germany where I lived for several years, our weather is very sunny...even in winter with its blue, blue skies and glistening snow. And the 4 season climate is perfect except I'd rather winter be shorter.

I am currently looking for a job outside of germany. I want to leave. They don't pay enough, housing prices are getting out of control, the weather sucks, 10 months per year you don't see the sun, and germans are not social. All my close friends are foreigners.

Nice one. So many positive things mentioned about Germany, they only made me more attracted to live there. This year, I have been there for two weeks as a professional and I got along perfectly with Germans so much so that often they often thought I am German.

I'm completing my college degree in engineering and will start doing my last semester here in Germany. Looking from the outside I was amused by the German excellence, its safety and opportunities it seemed to have. In my 4 months stay learning Germany 5 years ago it also seamed like a good choice. \n\nBut now looking at the comment section and my A2 german, this dream of trying to live here feels more like a temporary 6 months stay than an opportunity for a new life.

Make videos on other wealthy and happy countries to compare videos with, like Norway, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. You should start exploring Europe. It is been the Middle East, China, Russia, the United States, and India, but I do not see much in Europe.

People from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka often get labeled as 'Indians' during illegal entries. Whatever it is, no one can stop India's growth! Next GDP target: Germany. And Canada, you're not even in the league. Funny how the media spins things

As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!

It's too late folks, it's too late; and things are gonna get worse. I immigrated from Germany 25 years ago. What a change to the worse, welcome to Canadastan.\nIntegration is not the way, assimilation to Canadian culture was the key. Do you think all these immigrants will vote Conservative candidates? Well, keep dreaming because that is the reason the libtarded opened the gates. If you think they will go away in 2025 you are living in Lalaland.

Great video. Thank you! My experience was a bit quite different when I arrived there in 2007. I did have support in bureaucracy and German skills. My university gave me almost free courses and scholarship payed full time courses with living cost included. I did have the luck to meet good Germans friends that helped me and made me feel included. After some years, when I wanted to pursuit a natural career path is when I found difficulties. Being promoted more than senior engineer, a manager positions or a Professor position were out of my reach because of me being different. My earnings aspirations soon reached a limit and then decided to leave to California. I have full respect and love for Germany, but there I was not able to be what I wanted to be. Now I have achieved more abroad. However, I still miss some things from my life there.

As a South Africa working in Germany on a skilled worker visa, it was not the easiest to get the visa even with a job offer and working remotely for the company for more than two years. \n\nI agree with the three points to improve.\n\nBut Germany is expensive, even if you get a cheap apartment and live on bread and one eat meat twice a week, it’s expensive, you keep on paying taxes or fines for things you don’t even know and or use.\n\nThe dream of living in a safe EU country is also becoming something of the past with increased violent crimes and the far right movement. \n\nMy plan was to save more money and buy a property in Germany, but on arrival I had to use my savings to pay for the massive deposit on an apartment and an over priced apartment at that. But housing is limited so you must take what you can get. \n\nThe “free” healthcare is pathetic in comparison to what I paid for private healthcare in South Africa, and I pay more for the healthcare in Germany than I did back home and you have less benefits.\n\nThe only reason I am here is as my home country doesn’t have employment for someone like me, and that makes me somewhat sad. But hence why I need to appreciate how privileged I am to be living in Germany.
