As an Indian origin person, I can say those students who have come in the last decade have arrived on dubious grounds. They just ask for education consultants to send them to Canada to anywhere possible, thus they go to substandard colleges and do low demand courses, like global business, culinary skills, pastry making, short bookeeping courses. These lead to nothing in the job market. Plus, they hardly study are working at labour or low end jobs. Then resort to “copying” and boasting about it. It makes no sense to go back more than 10 years. Start with those that have felonies, or don’t have a history of working. Work from the present, and go back. You say that not worrying about health care since it comes from your employer or you can buy your own. I hear horror stories of people taking an Ambulance to a hospital for it to be out of network. Even if they planned on going to a Hospital in network the doctor was out of network. There are even times insurance companies that refuse to pay out and try to find any reason possible requiring legal action.

I want to bring attention to the fact that when an Airline submits a Record of Employment (ROE) to Service Canada for flight crew. The hours the company puts for insurable hours is the hours per month based on the pay hours not the actual amount of hours worked. Pilots for example are usually paid based on 80 hours of flying per month, actual time in the air. However, we all know it takes a lot more work to get an airplane ready to fly. These are the Duty Hours, the actual hours worked. The Airlines do not use the Duty Hours for the Records of Employment. The rules regarding insurable hours does state that it is the actual real world hours worked or as close as possible to that number. Something needs to be done because it is not fare for a full time employee to then be given an ROE with just 80 hours of insurable hours per month when they actually could work way more than that. Please someone investigate and report on this.

I once needed an urgent doctor’s appointment. I called several clinics, but they all said that if I am a new patient at their clinic (at that time I just moved to Germany for my study), the earliest possible appointment would be 3 months later…….\n\nI wonder if the same applies to Germans when they move to new places within Germany.

We were visiting Florida and I was extremely sick. My parents drove to Canada as fast as possible, even stopped and put me in a hotel while they went looking for help. All they could find was Syrup of Epicac to make me throw up. I had very major surgery shortly after returning to Canada. Spent over a month in hospital on I. V. and found out my intestines were tied up in knots. So glad I live in Canada. The only thing I had to pay for was the TV and hair wash. This is called capitalism where the corporate has to save as much money as possible for their share holders. So yes immigration is a huge problems but immigrant alone are not at fault.
