It is far from the truth. \nA few already rich getting richer is not to be tom-tomed for a nation of 1.5 bn. \nBesides, if the country is doing so great why are Indians so desperate to get out. To go any country, the number of legal and illegal Indians outnumbers all other arrivals. \n\nNot to forget, the anchor conveniently brushes aside the visa abuse by Indians. \n\nIf there are so many with such stringent regulations, imagine what will be the case if there is freedom of movement. \n\nGet a reality check before reporting

There are too many Indians everywhere you go in the world, too many still trying to get out of India. Working in Canada at a fast food restaurant gives someone from India (Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow....) a better standard of living than a middle class living in India. States like UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan... still living in 18th century. Gujjus were the first to got out and then Punjabis and then everyone, they damaged the reputation of Indians a lot.

Many Indians are not following immigration laws!

Have you seen the stupid visa forms for entering India for European citizens? \nStop cribbing when you are making it complicated for Europeans to get a visa.\nAlso, even countries like Thailand do not want Indian tour because of the disgusting behaviour many Indian tourists bringing a bad to name to all Indians.

Surveys and other data found that many airplane crashes occur due to Indian engineers whose work is reckless, lazy, and irresponsible.

Being a NRI living in the UK i have noticed a lot of Indians come over on temporary visas and end up staying illegally. And this practice is not just exclusive to the uk, i am sure it happens to many more countries where Indian people go. And also many Indian s to survive overseas will end up doing illegal things to survive. This could be a reason behind the spike in visa rejections

There are enough Indians all over Europe, Americas and Australia. Many of them specially in the USA and Canada are illegal in high numbers. In Canada and USA, Indians have ruined their own reputation by getting involved into fraud activities, breaking laws of the host countries by bringing people from India and making them work illegally. So, naturally, the rejection rates are much higher for tourist visa and not for business visas as such. The solution is India should build infrastructure inside the country so that people don't need to rush abroad for a better life. Equality doesn't mean providing access to anyone who can potentially misuse the resource of a country.

As an indian who has traveled to many countries, I feel embarrassed seeing other indians give us a bad name from lacking basic behavioural manners, Modi should launch a campaign for how to behave, instead of swach bharat and all these nonsense

Well you don’t have entitlement for that, just like you don’t like Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Rohingya crossing your borders by any means.\nHow many Indian agents have befooled fellow Indians who want to go and work in UAE, Behrin, Muscat, Qatar, Oman, Jordan and Saudi Arabia but landed on one of the beaches of India or have their Passport taken away to make them work like a slave in servitude by their fellow Indian contractors? Let us talk about that.\nLet us talk about how many Indian parents and students so foolish to see admission in universities or unaccredited fake colleges in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Russia and Russian federation countries but no serious intention to study but intention not to return but figure out magic trick to PR and citizenship without really caring to understand how immigration works and what would actually qualify to deserve immigration visa? Stop acting like you don’t know Ms Sharma, visas for Indians are rejected mainly because when you apply for a tourist visa, most of the time you are not really visiting that country. You have plans to settle there. Many people do go to these countries as tourists but they know very well who seems like a tourist and who doesn’t.

The problem is fear that Indians will travel to the West and not go back. Not just Indians, but Africans, South Americans and many Asian countries do the same. I've lived in the US for 55 years. There was an Indian music troop that came to the US to perform, maybe 20 people, including singers, musicians, comedians etc. After their tour in the US, half of them did not return to India. They figured they can make a better living in the US and live here as an illegal immigrant. This is too common. The next time when a troop of musicians want a US visa, chances are the immigration office will think twice about approving a visa. I can travel anywhere with a US passport because people know that Americans will return back to the US.

as an NRI who lived in US, UK, and Canada, I can tell you that the so called developed nations are over hyped. Yes, there are so many things that are better in these countries compared to india, but all these countries lack one thing. Respect towards fellow human beings. I lived in several states in India, we have problems, but nothing compared to these countries. Indians don't belong outside of india. Don't go to any country out side of iindia...you are not welcome. I came back to india and I am living peacefully.

We, Indians, put ourselves down.\n\nThey are;\n1) Out of 100 Indiands traveled abroad either for tourism or business, only 50 returns home, and the rest try to find jobs to live there.\n\n2) Many Indians forge documents or produce fake documents to get visas.\n\n3) Where the Indians go, they bring pan and pan parag items and spit sll over the place, especially the North Indians. Let me cite a few below.\n\n1) In one of the Western countries, a few years ago, a real Punjabi brother and sister who staged fake a marriage, got a marriage certificate, and other documents only to migrate there. The government eventually found put and deported them.\n\n2) Canada deported a few hundred Gujarati students when the US border security found them not speaking in English. On investigation, it was found that they all came with fake IELTS certificate.\n\nThere are many incidents we get to witness the day after the day. So, we can't blame other countries. It's us who made us very cheap in the international market. Because of those Indians, the entire innocent, honest, and talented Indians community is affected.

Dear Palki, it clearly shows that our MEA is not functioning in professional manner and our diplomacy fails in these areas. As our passport ranking declining day by day. A massive overhauling is needed in External Affair ministry. Otherwise we will lose many things on world platform including our Indian image .

Palki won't tell you why so many Indian wanted to go abroad and live in other countries. Indian media or 90% Indian journalists are all the same. The passport ranking is because of how Indians behave in general. If I was a nation I would make sure I don't let too many Indians in. Many Indian people go to Canada on student visas and never report to the college. They end up as illegals in the USA and Canada. They come from one specific region of India. This hurts the Indian passport ranking.
