If you go to Delhi on a visitor visa, why would the Indian government approve you of a post-graduation work permit or permanent residency? This is because India is not a country who have policies or programs for student visas or permanent residency for immigrants. Yes, indeed, they should not demand permanent residency, but it is not the students who make these immigration programs including student visas or temporary work permits or pr, it's the Canadian government who introduced all these policies, and if somebody is applying for student visa and spending $50000 for studies, they are applying because they see potential for permanent residency and that's how immigration websites do the marketing for attracting the international students. If they had known that work permits or pr is not possible through any programs, they would not have applied at the first point. It's the government's responsibility to make it clear on their policies or on immigration websites. Now they started making it strict by closing those programs but it's too late, what about the people who are already here invested their money. They did not enter Canada by just waking up one day and thought lets go Canada. The government welcomed them and they approved them. The argument of the reporter is totally wrong because they did not know that they would face hatred or racism when they applied for student visas. Now they saw a large population and started hating.

All those crybabies can leave. More for those of us that love this country. Costs for everything have gone up all over the world. How about you compare Toronto to London, England for housing ? I am a German American who lived in Germany and was blown away by the casual racism. I'm not at all surprised immigrants feel unwelcome.

India is a big nation with with diverse peope. The Indians in Canada are Punjabis. So blame Punjabis not ALL Indians. Also the issue with Punjabis in Canada is immigration fraud and exploiting poor Punjabis young people who came for a better life. Also many of the low paying jobs are getting taken over by Punjabis as part of immigration fraud and people are getting angry because other canadians feel discriminated. The truth is that it is not a racism but it is part of the immigration fraud and exploitation of these young Punjabis that their parents spent tons of money to come to canada. I honestly think the government is creating hate and racism by cutting out the white Canadian and letting there be racist job posting against white heterosexual men in Canada , you don’t think Canada can vet everybody that comes in here of course they can. NO!\n\n4- Did the Canadian government provide the newly arrived immigrants with a solid, safe and clean social structure where they can live freely without any risk to themselves and their families, where they feel completely safe and without any fear, anxiety and concern in terms of attack and crime?....... OF COURSE NO!\n\nTHEN, the Canadian State and its government do not have the right to say a single word about immigrants, and the Canadian State should now prepare the trillions of dollars that the immigrants themselves will pay as a result of the compensation lawsuits they will file against all these human rights violations that the state has implemented against immigrants for years, in a planned and systematic manner, unfairly and mercilessly. Canada's population of 40 million is not enough to drive the economy big. An MPP long time ago wanted Canada's population to be around 100 million to drive the economy. The usa to do this the time of cowboys gave free land to anyone who went west. Some immigrants due to poverty, never being able to establish themselves and racism did not even get married or only have one child contributing to Canada's declining birth rate. Canada's population that grew from 25 million to its current populatio of 2024 is due to immigration not child birth. New immigrants is what is driving Canada's economy. Who do you think is buying houses, condos, furniture, cars, etc. Many old generations Canadians of english, Scottish and irish descent don't and pass their house on to their kids if lucky.

I am Canadian, 7 generations here. I don't hate Indians. I have a lot of friends who are from India living here in Canada. Everyone, no matter where you come from should learn Canadian customs and learn our culture. Immerse yourselves in it, you're welcome to. Just like if someone went elsewhere from Canada, we would be expected to behave accordingly. It's not racism at all.

Just after reading comments from some Germans here, it really feels like that racism, chauvinism and zero-sum thinking are just a part of their mentality. They seem to believe that foreigners working in their country shouldn't have any voice, because having independent thinking or claiming some rights means abruptly that you aren't integrated.\n\nMany of them feel like foreign workers shouldn't even be given opportunity to come to Germany in the first place, because supposedly average German doesn't benefit from having larger workforce or higher productivity.. which is pure economic and sociological non-sense ?\n\nTight housing market plays now against immigration narrative, but that's caused also by inferior construction speeds, high interest rate, higher cost of materials and by the labor shortage.

Racism against Indians is increasing. I was born here and they treated us like dirt then and treat us like dirt now. Student visas are just an excuse to be racist. They feel emboldened because we don't speak up. We don't speak up cause Indians are too busy separating themselves from each other. I have been a victim of racism from people coming from rural Indian areas, some Canadians I met were 10 times better than the Indians I met here and every time I got ripped off was from a person from south asian country, not all but some are so so bad! Specially Punjabi females they are very aggressive judgmental and rude.

White Ukrainian refugees are welcome ( take Benifit’s & welfare) but hard working students paying fee (3 times as compare to local Canadian ) & Taxes, should deport because they are not white. This is racism ???????

As a white Brazilian, I would say my experience was quite good (I've returned home less than 1 month ago). \n\nApart of some obvious jokes about the 7-1, I've never faced anyone who made me feel unwelcome or undesired, quite the opposite in many situations. Being of German descent certainly made things better. Other white Brazilians I've met told me they had similar experiences.\n\nUnfortunately, immigrants from other Global South countries and non-white Brazilians probably have very different experiences, for the worse. I've heard many unpleasant comments from my German friends and colleagues regarding turks, Arabs, africans and other immigrants from the South of the world. It's certainly a problem for many skilled workers who are not white and could contribute for the country, but they can't thanks to racism.\n\nIn my view, apart of racism, another great problem in Germany when it comes to foreign skilled workers is the lack of digitalization in the country and the bad Internet. Many jobs require good internet connection and digitalization, which are not always provided by the Germans , unlike virtually all the other European countries including much poorer ones. \n\nHaving said that, Germany has many good-hearted, kind and welcoming people (except the racists, of course), and a fantastic culture.

So as an indian living in canada as an international student right now i would like to answer the few questions here which i guess the people in video aren’t able to so your 1 st question was that why would anyone like to come in this stolen land if there is lot of racism and injustice so as an i answer i would say the racism which you can see in comment section of this video itself about “deporting” is adressed in similar scenarios i have seen as yoi see the comment section there are very annoying comments such as “imagine the smell” so i would like to say that not everyone came here are workers in tim hartons and gas stations indians are also at the highest post in corporate sectors and indeed in restaurant businesses so to identify all of the indians same as many other is inappropriate , the people with no skillset and proper planning should be deported because no country needs labours or people without any kind of skill .the main demand of people protesting is to give them a chance as the people who came as international students have many debts to pay but neglecting that fact immigration control is responsibility of government not the immigrants .so at last i would say every problem has a solution don’t stick to the problem find the solution

yes canada is not racist and no one can make such generalization. however it is clear by many comments that racism clearly exists. international students are not just from india. they are from many countries. many come from nigeria also but rebel news or harrison and others would not say one word against anyone who is black. if all these people were from uk or europe then would this even be an issue to anyone? be honest. i am not taking sides. i been in canada for 40 years and my loyalty is to canada and for sure i would say there was lot of racism when i came in 1988. from grade 6 to 9 life was terrible here. things changed over time and my kids have not experienced racism for most of there life here but now i am seeing the bullies type that i faced are returning more and more especially online. rebel news and harrison (forgot his last name) are motivating such people. i had 2 racism incident in last few months. majority of indians are not trouble makers and are amongst the richest community in all of canada with the lowest crimes. many indian doctors, nurses, IT sector, engineers etc... now where does the problem lie. it is with poor immigration policies which lowered its standards. the requirements has to be raised higher and highly educated bunch is who we should bring in. many people from punjab india are involved in crimes and drugs and these are the people involved in the separatist movement and jagmeet and justin brought them in for votes. they need to go and so do those who are not loyal to canada. those of you who are racist i can give you a history lesson of the kkk or the crusaders but i know too many good people who i rather not group with you. in fact there is no need to go that route. you can never get rid of all blacks or indians out of canada. we have a history and we have every right to feel canadian as we obey and contribute to the economy and abide the law so f-off.

Glad this is happening! First, because the govt. should put their citizens & their heritage as top priority. Secondly, because permit to study doesn’t mean permit to permanently settle down. Don’t use words like racism during protests. That’s not racism. Canadians are much more tolerant as compared to places where many of us come from - places that are pure classists, casteists & extremists! Yes, this exists in 21st century. Finally, there is no deeper philosophy involved - learn to respect & assimilate in a new country. Work hard. Follow the rules. I mean these days I am seeing people failing to follow basic civic sense & social manners. This is creating a problem for the entire community.
