I came to Saskatchewan Canada as an international student in fall 2023. I did a care assistant program and was attracted to coming to Canada because I kept hearing that there is a labour shortage in healthcare in Canada. However I feel like everything just started going to sh*t in 2024 when I was finishing up my program ?.\n\n One of the things I'd like to highlight about the small towns is that they can be very biased in their hiring practices. Some of us as (black) students had a hard time getting jobs in healthcare in the town because jobs were given based on family and friend linkages (so mostly white or Filipino people got hired). Also there was a severe housing shortage. So even though locals (from my perception) wanted us to stay and work in healthcare (because they are short staffed), realistically there was no where to stay. Canada can't say it wants people in more rural areas and not improve housing in those areas as well. I have honestly been rather disappointed with Canada because I expected better planning from a developed country.

So easy Muslims they can marry their cousins they get them easily . What is the difference to students. At least the come work contribute taxes .

Simple really, in Maslow's hierarchy of needs a person who doesn't have security in their basic needs of food, shelter, and safety can't get beyond that point up the ladder to self actualization considering other aspects of fulfillment, if you and your fellow countrymen are suffering and can't secure necessities for even basic survival like housing then seeing others come in is a threat to what little resources are available and therefore a threat to you regardless of where they are from, threats are reacted to with anger as a survival mechanism often subconsciously and is a normal human response, it's not hatred towards immigrants it's justified anger, frustration, and fear about you and your family being out on the streets and of course it's also universally unfair and unjust to those who were already part of the country and have paid into it, competition for resources in other words, I'm not Canadian but it works the same way no matter where you are

Honestly. Because it doesn’t feel like the same country I grew up in, went to school in, worked in, served in, and built a business in.\n\nI’m done. For once in my life, I don’t want to be Canadian anymore.

Same thing happening in Italy .i was talking to my nephew in Rome, he works as a janitor at school, he said there were 20 East Indian pupils out of 30 in one class! Post war Europeans immigrated to North America and built this rich continent with SKILLS and hard work without any demands, now these people come and they expect things on a silver platter! These people are impoverishing the rest of us! If they don’t like here they can go back to their beautiful India period!

People walked in and now they will bus and fly them out. It won't bother any work forces because they started coming about a year and a half ago the earliest. So those businesses were running smooth before so no difference now

Are you kidding me. Are you not in Canada right now. Canada is now the most poor country in the World. Immigration has gone to the roof. No housing. Rents and forget about buying a house in BC, AB, Quebec, Ontario. High unemployment, Inflation is high and going up more. We also do not have a military defense system and the U.S. is tired of Canada not spending money to meet their responsibility as a Nato country. Many Canadians are leaving the country permanent. Investors and businesses are pulling out. Canada is trillions in debt but keep printing more money (toilet paper). Canada has gone downhill significantly over the past ten years. Born Canadians and legit immigrants having to go through a rigorous immigration process are very unhappy and cause conflict. Besides all the different ethnicities cause unrest and are ungrateful, daring the burn the Canadian flag, uttering death to Canada, death the US and Israel. These trouble makers have not intentions to assimilate into Canada's culture and are disrespectful to the Canadian government and it's citizens. Our youth are very unhappy and do not see a future for themselves yet have to work very hard and pay unbelievable high taxes. The minimum wages are only 15 bucks an hour which cannot sustain life here in this country. Please stop making false promises to foreigners to come here and be disappointed. This is not a country of milk and honey any longer but poor and enormous homelessness. Hunger, terrible health care, incredible post secondary tuitions and books. Now that president Trump has won the election he is going to place tariffs on Canadian goods and rightfully so. Russia is very interested in the Antarctica and should they or anyone invade Canada we got 3 days of ammunition. The food in AB is very bad for your health. Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. Our kids live on the streets, shelters, camping in the woods and using fentanyl and meth all kinds of dangerous drugs. The cities and small towns are full of used needles, pipes, and more paraphelia just thrown on the trails everywhere. The US will not assist Canada when a possible War 3 will occur, and we the people of Canada and the land are easy prey. If you do not believe me, just come visit RED Deer shelters and walk around on the trails, go to Vancouver but becareful because random assaults are happening every day, people living in tents, using the streets as toilets, drugs galore, even the police is unable to act nor arrest criminal activities caused by desperate people who need to survive. Canada's economy is about to collapse and fall into a recession. We have too many people coming in our country without checking their back ground and many criminals and terrorist groups are entering declaring refugee status whether it is true or not, we do not know. The people of Canada who work and pay highest taxes are used to house these newcomers and education, jobs, food and money. Our government take better care of these illegal people than their own people especially our youth. So please let us not pretend Canada is a land of opportunity and great. We have to vote for the right leader who will have a very difficult time and challenges to overcome if at all possible and make Canada Great Again!

Why are you saying forcing Indian workers to leave. Are these so called workers permanent residents of Canada? Are these workers citizens of Canada? Have these temporary workers come from India only? Are you saying that Canadian government is doing something illegal by asking temporary workers to leave whose visas or work permit has expired or the purpose of entering Canada has been fulfilled for which the Visa was granted.?Your thumbnail is misinterpretation of Canadian Law.

Our system has been abused for too long. My mom worked as a nurse's aide in a hospital for many years. This was in south Texas. I remember her telling me that Mexicans (with money) would come to have their babies here and then go back to Mexico. When the children were grown they could come and live here easily. I remember it pissed.me off. It didnt matter if they paid for the delivery. They were still cheating our system. I'm all for denying these people citizenship. We should follow Germany's example.

My parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all born in the USA. Having pregnant women coming as illegal immigrants should not become a citizen even though the baby is born here. Actually she knew she was pregnant before she came, but that doesn’t mean she can’t become a legal citizen, but it needs documentation like I have had to prove many times to get work.

They are not heroes for working during covid. They were safe here, certainly safer than in their dirty india. Burning corpses in street in india. Canada saved them during covid. With all do respect, I do not understand why we are accepting foreign student to come here to study on how to become a mechanic. We have plenty of Canadians who know how to fix cars and other mechanical things.\nI do not understand letting folks come and work here just so they may support a family abroad, that means that this is not your home..... I you want to become a Canadian citizen then go through the correct channels of immigration. these folks are seeking immigration loopholes just to come and work here.... Very frustrating!

This Student Visa to Work Permit thing from years ago has been stealing jobs from Canadians for too long. This group will accept and even counter offer potential employer with lower wage so they can get the job and apply for permanent residency. After that they apply the whole family to come over. Given they are not exactly rich to start with, they and their family end up costing our social assistance more. Send them home and they can apply properly.

They never come to study, they worked 7 days a week and when they failed the exam they protected, they think protest makes them whatever they want.

International students should never been allowed to work. If you can't fund your own education, then you can't afford to come here. Our jobs and our universities/colleges are for OUR CHILDREN! You have no claim here.

Let's get real here, these international students do not contribute significantly at all to Canada's economy. They are a drain on food banks that locals need for survival. They are a drain on our economy because 90% of them are sending most of their paycheques back to family in India. They are taking jobs away from young Canadians trying to enter the job market while Canada's unemployment rate is high right across the country. The schools mostly are fraudulent diploma mills that are not providing any real world job skills that are useful to Canada or Canadians and 90% of Indian international students who enroll in these colleges do not even attend. They come only to work for dollars and send money back to India. Meanwhile the cost of living is extremely high due to the housing shortage caused by excessive Indian International students. It should be very clear now, Canada and Canadians want all these Indians to leave Canada and return to India as stated in the temporary resident visa. If not they will be cut off and deported also incurring a 5 to 10 year ban from Canada.

I came to Canada in 1989 with my twin sister. I haven't left Canada ever since I came in. My twin sister left Canada for good in 2023. I did not come to Canada because I needed more money. I came to Canada because I did not have a country. Canada became my home country but the crazy thing is I don't recognize the Canada I knew over the years. Many people came to Canada to take advantage of this wonderful nation. My beloved city of Toronto turned into a third world country. I'm now in Alberta where I work hard and pay my taxes. My Canada is a paradise on earth. My Canada deserves people who loves it. I had my hardship in my early years and that was what I had to go through. In Canada now Canadians are so angry at Indians coming here on fraudulent papers, conducting themselves like savages without any morals or standards. Immigrants are being used, most people put everything they have to come here and start a new life, but most people only see us as numbers , most of us don't have access to those social securities or we try to avoid using them because they work different for immigrants, while refugees come with permanent residence, without even speaking the language, and they don't come alone, they come in large groups, complete families all with all the benefits, that to me seems really unfair

As someone who had to take the English assessment to attain the PGWP, I complained so much because I didn't come to Canada not knowing English, and I certainly did not graduate without the ability to read, write, listen and even present business cases in English. It pissed me off at the time cause he costs hundreds of dollars for something I was assessed on before even coming to the country. Did they really think my English got poorer after 3 years in the country? \n\nBut I totally get your point why its needed now with the way things are. However, in the long run, I think reforms should be made at the student visa level. Canadian and other international students who worked hard to get into uni don't need a deadweight that cant speak the official language of the university and contribute meaningfully. Forget contributing to Canadian society, would the student himself learn anything?

There are too many fake international students...they come for work permit. Legitimate IS are the ones studying in universities to get a degree and go home once they are finished.

Other problem is that a lot of people try to get a work in the service area, instead of help the growth of the primary and secondary sector, things that truly produce growth of a country. \n \nOther thing, the frame of the debate most not to be only in order of unskilled and skilled workers. ''Must to be in order of people who need for specific occupations in order of the demand work-force', EEUU have a lot of skilled workers and they don’t have a job. Sell a fake promise to the skilled workers of other part of the world is not correct.\n\nA lot of skilled worked come to Canada each year, and everybody can see them working in a McDonald or washing dishes in restaurants.

Hello Anna and Anastasia your channel is truly a hidden gem full of useful information and insight. I am an international student myself and I agree with all your points in the video, Canada used immigration to fix a deeper problem and that is its difficulty to incentivize the economy by having a heavily regulated environment, high taxes and low productivity. It will definitely alleviate some of the pressure on the system but, the real cause is still there. The first sector that is going to be affected will be the education as colleges and universities became over reliant with the revenue coming from Int. Students (which is not particularly small) and institution will need to adapt. When I first came here I fell in love with the country and I really feel fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place and doing everything to assimilate and integrate myself into the culture. I think here you can have a sense of hope of things improving in the future (something that is not the case in my home country) but if they do not fix the underlying problem it does not matter how much immigration they reduce, Canadians will not see a significant improvement. Keep the awesome work!!!

I am an immigrant turned Canadian. I had to score points to come here, and I gave a job interview and cracked it on day 3 after arrival. Paying hefty taxes, integrating with culture, following the law of land just to see this country turning into a mess! Seeing govt favoring frauds, leeches and unproductive foreigners over hard working and honest people.

Tariffs DO work and anyone that thinks they don't is too stupid to have an opinion. The good thing about tariffs is that tariffs are not war.
