Although he had all the money needed, he could not find an apartment. It took almost 10 months to get my home back.. Any government party that would that would have a political goal of BUILDING APARTMENT COMPLEXES would win the election. Not a universal income!

As a realtor in London, I agree that we feel the pressure on our rental market. Rent has increased dramatically in the past 5 years. Growing families that rent are choosing to live with less space and stay where they are to keep costs down. rents could more than double by going to a new home (depending on how long they have lived in their current hime and the larger unit they will then move to.) I love our international students and support many of them find housing, but it doesn’t take away from the crisis we see. Since Covid our homeless population has exploded along with surrounding communities like St. Thomas and Woodstock.

We need to lower the number of temperary visas and completely get rid of the Landed Immigrant status. You want to stay here become a citizen, otherwise go home.

Listened to your vlog and I want to suggest few things as an immigrant myself... I am not sure of your detials but seems like your husband came back after 2 months leaving you there with family.. I have rarely seen any family settling abroad unless they have seriously burnt all there bridges back home.. if you start with a mindset that let's go and see and if doesn't work out we will come back 90% odds are you will go back.. firstly come with absolutely clear mind that no matter what happens you are not going back.. and you will make it here no matter what. The journey will become much easier and one directional.. Secondly you do not have to rely on any family abroad to move.. this is an other mistake people make.. they think they will have support but this support is actually a limiting option ... it doesn't let you get on feet quicker. Nobody can support you for long abroad and sooner than later you have to get on your feet. once you over stay your welcome you can start getting some unwelcoming vibes and then you get depressed thinking there is no one genuinely yours in this country.. you waste your initial time relying on your family.. better start without them in the first place and get going from day one.. and lastly 2 3 months is nothing to settle any where let alone in Canada.. you have to be patient, persistent and focused and after 2 years and after seeing all the calendar and religious seasons twice, you finally start to think of new place as your home.. its hard but in the end it's truly worth it and then you can never go back to India or Pakistan

This lack of homes and never ending immigration with no pause reminds me of the US southern border. They just let them churn in like machines parts on a assembly line (refugee factories instead of immigration factories but low skilled workers) and the court system is overwhelmed to see these people for their appointment to determine if they're eligible to stay. Also please do consider Oman. It’s a beautiful truly Islamic country. The Omani Arabs are most respectful and calm people. I loved living there. \nYou can drive and visit dubai in 4 hours. Believe me you don’t want to live there. It’s like Disney land. Visit have loads of fun then return home to wonderful Oman. If you work there as an expat you are provided lovely accommodation, tax free income and a tickets to your home country every year during your month off. \nIt’s super clean and many US, Canadian, European expats extend their contracts to stay longer because of the luxurious lifestyle.

Your workplace will be toxic, you'll work long hours for a boss that treats you like crap and pays you less than you're worth. You'll be underpaid, and not valued or appreciated. Me and my husband are trying to leave the US for similar reasons, life is hard and no time to actually enjoy our kids s childhood and we want our kids to get a islamic education and enjoy life as muslim in muslim country it s so fun, i personally started suffering from social anxiety i can stay home for a whole month because i feel i uncomfortable with the bad looks and the negativity to the point that i don’t take my kids to the playground because im afraid they ll be treated in a bad way because it happened in the past , we r thinking about going the arabia saoudi or morocco\n i work with individuals with disabilities i will miss them so much my father asked me to not leave that job and to do my best to make their life easier, i feel like i ll miss them the most, may Allah unite me with them in jannah ameeeen

This is my 13th year in Canada, I am so sad to see the change, I really hope it will become a better country again with Trudeau stepping down. But we also have to be fair that there are not many countries become better since COVID. Many of you leaving or planning to leave Canada are more like rich country retirees taking advantage of the wage and currency differences between rich and poor countries. So let’s put it this way, if many of you have not worked your whole life here in Canada, will you still have a quality of life in your home countries, such as Southeast Asia or South America? I doubt majority of the population there is make a good money and having great work life balance, and everyone there could afford a decent retirement life. what is more close to nowadays reality is people coming here and hoping they could have a better paid job and settle down here, but most of them found out they are struggling to even maintain their normal life in this country, so they left. For those who came years ago, they made a saving which may not be enough to support a good retirement life here, but is more than enough in other countries, they also choose to flee. Then those successful immigrants will stay here with the option to travel anywhere they want. My son's classmate's grandfather immigrated to Canada long time ago who later become a well known cardiologist and was rewarded as one of the top 25 immigrants Award, all three daughters are now specialists too. I really hope Canada could rise again!

Every politician has bought 50 or more homes to do this with as well. Tucker carlson has a load of them, as well as every other tv personality. People from other countries stay 10 people per home, and collectively can afford much higher rates than americans living 1 family to a home, again driving rates ever higher. Government is soley responsible for the dollar becoming worthless so quickly. Wages will never keep up. The government makes more money by cramming as many people as possible into the country, directly at the expense of quality of life for the citizens. Nobody is protecting the interests of American citizens. We are all getting robbed blind by predators while we all appear to be blind deaf and dumb. Nothing happening is an accident. Every loser creates a winner somewhere.

You tend to get high taxes in places with free health care. Many use Canada as a bridge country to the US. In the US health care is very expensive. Many companies you would work for offer free health care plans for single individuals ( if you have a family it costs a lot ) but those plans have such high deductibles and co-pays that you can't afford to use it. Most US health care plans have very high deductibles ad co-pays making it extremely expensive. Then when you retire and start getting social security which is not much money by the way, you also get Medicare which also has a monthly charge around $150 mth. It doesn't cover everything. It does not cover dental or vision. It does not cover all your hospital stay which tends to occur as you get older. Most Americans end up having to sell their homes that they spent a lifetime paying off, to pay medical bills and end up on Medicaid which is the free last resort medical care and end up in a nursing home to end your days. Most nursing homes are bad. You end up in a 2 person room, in diapers, up for meals and back to bed, diaper changed 2 times per shift and one shower per week done by whomever in the communal shower room. Shelves until you die, which many do very quickly out of despair. After working your whole life that is the prize folks in the US.

You explained this so well!! My partner and I moved to Canada 3 years ago just as we got approved for H1B. We had to chose between moving to CA or staying there in an uncertain limbo for 2 decades waiting for a greencard. You did a good job talking about the downsides of moving such as a lower salary and higher home prices. We bought a small townhouse for the price we could have paid in the US for a detached house. Many people I know in similar situations leave CA and move back to the US once they get their Canadian citizenship. However, I do think that there are many reasons to stay such as the political climate. The US has become very regressive banning abortions, making gun laws more lenient and it’s not as accepting when it comes to diversity and inclusion (be it POC community or Lgbtqia+) unless you live in a big city which is expensive. These are the reasons we chose to stay, especially if we have kids as school shootings are getting more and more common there.

Im renting an old 2 bedroom in Waterloo for $2000+ and barely able to save Fter OSAP payments, food, car bills etc. Candadas quickly becoming a slave farm. In 1993, I received a phone call from Canada, I was headhunted & offered a 2-year work contract. Within months, I moved from Singapore to Banff, Alberta. When my contract came-up for renewal in 1995, they wanted to extend my employment but they couldn't confirm the projected remuneration I would be receiving as the institution was undergoing restructuring, so I left. I stayed on in Canada for a couple more.months to enquire on job opportunities. This is so odd for me because I am having a similar experience, but in the opposite. I live in a small town in Michigan, USA that is very Christian, conservative, and republican. It's very much a place that I want to leave (so maybe in that way we are similar?), but most of my family lives here so it's difficult. I crave a sense of community where I can be surrounded by like-minded people. There is a feeling of division, one that I think is amplified by social media. I don't want to add to that separation, but it seems like there's a hard line in the sand and you're on one side or the other. \n I could never move away from my home country! It's so weird watching other people do it, and it makes me think about the people who stayed during mass exodus in, for example, Scotland. It's like, I share ancestry with Scottish people, but they don't have an immigrant-based background. Ya'll stayed? How does that work?? And here I am, staying. Does that make sense?

I did my education here in Ontario. Back home in India, education was mostly about education but here it is all about having all the experiences like weed, addictions, breakup and promiscuity etc. Everyone talks about YOLO (You Only Live Once). I live in texas went from a big city but since becoming a mom we moved to a small town. Best decision we ever made my girls play outside and are ssying hi and thank you, learning to live among others with different views or beliefs with respect. My family is a mix of el Salvador and Honduras, my moms family is of Palestine descent who left and went to a small country who was the only one at time that opened their doors due to their religion. Because of that religion and politics stay outside of our home we were all allowed to explore others but respect was always the rule, and i do the same for my girls if they want to learn we research together and teach them respect of all faiths. We do homeschool because in our small town public school is actually thw second choice of how far out we are from the school. We have also still homes in el Salvador and honduras because my family told us from being little this isnt home and to respect the hist country that opens their doors. All western financial systems are due a heavy crash they can not keep up with such vast amounts of people coming in and as in Europe the vast mass of illegals who can not work sucking up the benefits system raises taxes and demand for housing is shooting prices up. \nThe western governments went into money printing mode that creates inflation raising prices on every day goods and foods this can not be sustained for much longer before it all comes crashing down, This also affects places in schools and medical wait times with more people flooding in to the point in the UK where i live you can be waiting up to 5 hours for an ambulance and 3-6 months for an operation.\n25 years ago you could get a 2 bedroom house here for around 25k now you are looking around 150k-250k the kids born here have no chance of owning a home and most end up staying with parents up to their 30s-40s, Even private landlords are under threat from government buyouts that end up housing migrants and not our citizens its a real mess that has no signs of slowing.
