This is sadly the right decision. Asylum is a special status reserved for people in imminent danger, it shouldn't be confused with economic migration. The folks crossing through the US are already in a safe country, relatively speaking. We let in a million people legally last year and most end up in major cities that lack the infrastructure to fully support them and creates undue hardship for already struggling Canadians. We are a generous nation but migration has to be balanced with affordability and opportunity for locals. This is all absurd based on outdated models of economic growth. Tax the damn billionaires that hide money offshore and build capacity for all then we can help those in danger more but we have such issues with poverty, healthcare, education, roads, food affordability and a housing crisis. Time people put Canadians interests first.

HORDES OF THE APOCALYPSE \nCanada doesn't have the resources to stop 1 million+ newcomers from the US every year, while Biden and company don't care much about closed borders, so once the republicans regain power, illegals in America will stampede into Canada on a scale never seen before in history, mostly in Ontario and Québec, but also the West: The federal and provincial governments are powerless to stop this coming migration of newcomers into Canada because the border is very great and the wave is an ocean of peoples from the US southern border. The newcomers are socialized in despotic and troubled countries, so their strengths, tenacity and hardened ways will cause them to displace traditional Canadian minorities, and they will soon control the levers of big city political and economic power. Whosoever stands in their way, namely Darwinian and Marxian elites, will be ruthlessly cut down. The worldhood of the world is the worldization of the world's worldality, the worldliness of the world, viz., the worldline: The developmental unification of the coaxial integration of the American world. Christopher Richard Wade Dettling, American Idealism, 2023

Bullsh*t. The majority of these people are not in need of Asylum. These are economic illegal migrants.\nNot only can the West not keep sustaining this migration, but it never fixes the problem. Pressure creates change, migration keeps acting like a release valve.\nInstead, the people should create pressure and force their governments to fix up their dam countries. A workforce and education is a power. If they can't build a country with that, then they are corrupt.

It is easy to judge migrants when you have a home and food to eat. People migrate because they are in a bad situation. I also understand that it is not easy for USA or Canada or Europe to accept every single person from around the world but this is our situation today. Life is becoming more and more a difficult to survive all around the world. War, poverty, dictatorships, gang members, environmental issues and the list goes on....

It's funny they try to migrate to countries with immense taxes for their citizens and legal workers, and with social programs paid by these tax dollars. All they have to do is get there somehow and illegally OfCourse, and then give birth to couple of dozens of kids then and bingo. They work for cash, doesn't pay taxes and make use of social programs paid by legal residents who pay taxes. So unfair and people who have sympathy for them should at least accommodate one or two families in their own homes after preaching about others being accommodating.

If you are indigenous to North America anywhere in North America should be open to you, the Europeans came and cut up this continent for their benefit, they made borders all over this world taking other people's countries something nobody did to Europe. This is what happens when you take someone else's land and make it yours, the indigenous that you met here have children after children and people starts to migrate for a better life because again the hunger for drugs in the United States have made their homes unsaved so they move this is call life. No one of European descendent should complain this is what the Europeans did to the Americas and so the circle continues.

Why do people want to migrate so badly? Why not just visit the other country for a while and go home? Embrace your culture. It's better to live in your own land surrounded by your family and friends then to be a stranger in a foreign land.

It is high time Canada should put up electric fences on its borders, easy entry for criminals, terrorists, ...the government can not even feed, house, educate and provide employment to their own Homeless people, why accept Non Canadians. Well educated and skilled immigration applicants find it too diificult to legally migrate to Canada but ???? Assylum seekers too easy to enter Canada!!! Government increase taxes to support all these refugees and assylum seekers free of charge while Canadians can not cope with inflation..what an irony...

Slap on the face of South Asian people. Lengthy process with hell lot of money and documents... and there you go... flood of criminals, cartels are entering in canada. Thank God I made last minute decision and chose Australia... but now I am in Scandinavia on an assignment. They have some rules. But on my last visit in canada I was very grateful that I did not migrated here....

I have nothing against Immigration. I am immigrant myself, but I sacrificed a lot and gave up a lot just to migrate to Canada for the hope of a better life. And since I am poor and can't afford to migrate as entrepreneur, I have to gave up my profession and worked as a live-in caregiver for years.\nLucky for those people, to just cross the border.

In Quebec we already have over 40000 of these illegals living on government checks, taking space during a housing crisis, taking healthcare when the system is overloaded, sending their children to overloaded schools (Relative to the numbers of teachers) with them not contributing at all... they are making it harder for people to have families during a period of low birthrates. Even legal migrants aren't contributing to key jobs, they come here, try to get elite positions and cry about racism when they don't get them, go to university with the help of the government while most natives cannot even dream of higher education.\n\nMass migration in Canada is an epic failure in a time when we aren't supposed to mess up.

This is totally unacceptable. As a migrant myself, me and my whole family had to follow rules, submit requirements, tons and tons of paperwork, medical works, and last but not the least, year and years of waiting!! For people to cross boundaries, illegally migrate, then said country where illigal entry was made upon welcome such people is not only infuriating but also shows us (people who did it all by the book and followed rules) that laws can and obviously be discarded. This is not right, but then again, we are leaving in a world of men being accepted as women just because they felt like it and real women being silenced by labeling us haters and transphobic if we dare speak up. The world has gone mad.

I'm guessing mostly venezolanos \nThe most demanding laziest of people the ones who say they are not violent. I'm sorry but really no respect for other countries. I get it every one wants to migrate but this is just wrong to think you can do what ever u want.

I’m starting to put two and two together. With all the chaos and people migrating because of lack of resources. Now Ohio. This must be the reason so many Walmart are closing. It’s already happening mass migration.

This wouldn't be happening if the corrupt powerbrokers were not hijacking the issue and the people for common sense reforms. In a country that allows braindead useless people thru CHAIN MIGRATION easily on a path to citizenship in as little as tgree years, and has cursed the Rocket Scientist de facto Americans who have been living here for several decades a fair chance to get on a path, there should be no wonder what's happening in this country and the future of it.

I've got nothing against legal migration and people wanting a better life. But this just set things back decades and will be a huge dog-whistle for all MAGA republicans for years to come. Geez people, what the hell?

It is due to the type of people Canada tries to lure, middle class, well educated who can pay at least $35,000 to migrate. \n\nThis type of person will get disapointed very quickly if they don't find exactly what they expect, in oposition of the type of migrant the US has been trying to drag, people who burnt their ships and have no way to go back.

Thanks you two for making this video. Stay safe -\n\n---\n\nI migrated to Canada over a decade ago with a hope for better life as a skilled worker and obtained a professional license to practice in Ontario. I have many friends in Canada, and my clients appreciated my work. However, I found it very risky continuing to live in Ontario / Canada, and couldn’t continue doing any business where there is no fair legal protection and do not respect the basic human rights of ethnic minorities.\n\nThere are too many fraudulent organizations, individuals, legal professionals, and public servants with authority. People with fiduciary duty openly lie, abuse their authority, commonly downplay the significance of their criminal acts, and together they seem to be trying to maintain their status quo biases.\n\nI have emigrated from Canada a year ago to protect my health and life, but am still concerned about the safety of my good friends who live in Ontario/Canada because of the corrupt legal system there. \n\nSpecific examples of what I have experienced: \n\n[Employment Case] \n- Punished by ‘the system’ for pointing out the risk of clients' data manipulation by the upper management of a company; investigations by the Ministry of Labour were biased and incomplete; the legal proceedings by OLRB was interrupted and biased; they have suppressed/buried the evidences that I have provided; they did not share all case files with the applicant(me) but among all other parties until one minute before 5pm on the last day of the statute of limitation; the Vice Chair had interrupted the direct negotiation between the parties and closed the case by canceling the hearing; the Board’s lawyer told, 'sue the Ontario government if you have any issue'; \n\n[Civil Case/Lawyer Malpractice] \n- Ignored by the system when filed a complaint about the fraudulent practices (to LSO) and a fraudulent charge of over 10K without any itemized invoice (to the Superior Court of Justice [SCJ]) made by a contingency lawyer after failing to respond to the opposing party by deadline, failing to negotiate, and abandoning the client(me); the lawyer is apparently a son of board members / public servants of the province and the country, according to a paralegal who I met for the first time at the Fee Assessment Hearing “by chance” and claimed himself as my counsel to the Court clerks and telling them to send all documents to him (I’ve never asked nor retained him); LSO refused to investigate my reporting; the Commissioner had refused to accept a critical evidence, and refused to investigate without reason; the Fee Assessment Officer at SCJ was biased by giving privilege to the lawyer at the hearing, and interrupted the hearing without waiting my response; (the lawyer wrote an online article then about LSO and said “There are too many unacceptable practices that are being tolerated or ignored by the Law Society - from improper marketing to improper contingency retainer agreements. The regulatory penalties for such breaches are essentially non-existent, and these practices will continue until there are adequate enforcement measures in place.” He appeared to be talking about himself. He had threatened to pay the unreasonable fee over 10K for the unfinished contingency case, withdrew the amount anyway from my credit-card, and refused to provide the case files to me/client, while OLRB Vice Chair had ordered to cancel the hearing after interrupting the direct negotiation with the opposing party; they all refused to share the records of communications that had occurred without my knowlege/presence.)\n\n[Residential Tenancy/Public Health&Safety Case]\n- Punished by the system for requesting the property owner to eradicate health hazards (toxic mold, pests, and dusts) from my living space in a residential rental property; LTB proceedings was biased and unfair, interrupted multiple times when I spoke and suppressed the use of my evidences in the hearing (e.g., a letter from a medical doctor, warning the danger of continued exposure to toxic mold), downplayed the risks of exposure to asbestos/lead and the obvious contraventions of the laws [OHSA, RTA, and municipal Property Standards by-laws] by the property owner; LTB suggested the [former] Tenant to pay for the order reviews only to decline those reviews; LTB's selective omissions of evidences that are inconvenient to the other party/ the property owner; my basic human rights were clearly violated -- no response from LTB, Tribunals Ontario, nor Human Rights Tribunals; the property owner, municipal Property Standards office, and LTB have colluded, needlessly delayed the proceedings, and closed the case after 2.5 years without issuing any order against the property owner’s contraventions of the laws, while I had continued to suffer from the prolonged exposures to health hazards (I have paid the rent in full for over a decade without any delay, even during the Covid lockdown, out of my retirement savings [I was not eligible for the government financial support during the lockdown -- no income, but some retirement savings]). At least two of sixteen units in the building had their balconies literally falling apart; the walls have cracks and friable materials in the living space; my neighbors were afraid of falling through the cracks on the balconies from the upper floors — you never hear about these things in news because they are all colluded and do not issue any official orders.\n\n[Healthcare Issue]\n- I left Canada before Nov. 30, 2021, as I had serious reactions to the first Covid vaccine-shot (my immune system was compromised, affected by the continued exposures to health hazards in my apartment) but my physician had refused to diagnose them then — there was no proof of my adverse reactions to the first shot; later the physician had made lies and terminated the doctor-patient relationship; I was required to take the second-shot, or else… I have disposed / gave away of my belongings within two weeks and left the country to protect my health and life -- fled from Canada.\n\nReported to CBC, but they do not reply. \nPosted Gogle Reviews, but they are deleted.

I lived in the Philippines for 27 years and we always lock our houses even when we're inside the house coz people (junkies, psychopaths, crazies) just force themselves inside and try to mug us for our belongings and we can't even report it because some u police are crooked, lazy and corrupt. But once i migrated to winnipeg (considered as the murder capital of Canada), i felt safer, believe it or not. I tend to forget locking/closing my garage door and once i come back, everything's still there, nothing gone, considering that i live in the north end (one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in winnipeg). Plus, everyone's just so damn friendly and welcoming. Love it here! But i still prefer living in the Philippines despite being not as safe. Home will always be home.

The grass really was greener on the other side when I went to Canada. The first time I came up there, it was a complete culture shock, and it’s only right over the border! Like people have always had it better in Canada though in many ways. That’s why enslaved people used to migrate there. More peace.

If so developed this country, why the country, begging for people globally. ( Name it migration and refugees). I am from India, came as a PR. But Canada broken my family. I did scrap my so called PR. The most fabricated, and propaganda based hidden society. I returned to India, living very comfortable, with quality of food, ( not rotten preserved food). Toronty, Spadina, queen stree, sorry, how the people are suffering, depressed, and enslaved. The most exploited country in the world The drug driven, poor peoples country ( extremely liable to masters) call back, any clarification, you want !!

01. \n02. \n03. \n04. \n05. \n06. \n07. \n08. \n09. \n10. Manitoba - double people MOVE out than migrating in; 2nd MOST dangerous province; with 2nd lowest LIFE expectancy; worse SCHOOL in the country; with an average HOME value of $3,13,000.00; 3rd highest POVERTY rate; the least HAPPY province; has over 1,10,000 lakes in Manitoba contributing an incredibly HUMID summer; high HUMIDITY contributes to a very HIGH number of mosquito, so much so that a city is named as 'mosquito' with a built statue of mosquito; with frigid COLD winter (-30 degree with wind chill) while city Winnipeg ranks as the COLDEST major city in North America ... BUT has the LOWEST unemployment RATE across all other provinces (but with very FEW well-paid jobs;);

Except the immigrants you're letting in are old too... please end chain migration\nVery few Canadians wanted another increase, hopefully this will wake up Canadians.\nUkraine has already lost 20% of its population in the last 30 years, increasing that number will hurt Ukraine even more.\nAnd we're suppose to decrease our carbon at the same time? ??\nKeep bringing people from low carbon countries to our high carbon because it's cold

As an India supporter and hindu devotee from latinoamerica, I hope and demand the India government to give EDUCATION TO ALL, and expand the reach of the institutes of tecnology, so people can study at home and/or have scholarships/job for the interested in migration, Migration should enrich a person not push them further into poverty

After reading the comments it's funny how people still thinks where you are born or your country origin is home. Imagine thinking that's the definition of home to begin with, sometimes I Just shake my head when I see people using such content to define home. Home dosen't necessarily have to be your country origin or whatsoever. I personally would define home as anywhere with the best of contents I seek along with my Characteristics being blended. \nAlso I don't get why people are criticizing those who said they won't come back, they have there various reasons for moving abroad, it might be for a better life, academic, security and lots other stuffs. If they wanna go back to there home country then good and fine but if they wanna stay and migrate, it's also Good. Migration has always been a thing right from the time of Abraham so in essence allow those who wants to migrate to migrate, they are not the cause of your problems or to why your home country has bad governance. If you don't like the fact that they are migrating or not wanting to go back to there home town then simply ignore them, no need to act bitchy about it, Gosh!

Immigrating to Canada to seek greener pasture is abracadabra. The fact is when you made an important decision that fails, you escalate your commitment to that decision. That’s why many can’t go back home, while others seek migration elsewhere. By and large, Canada is a lovely country where you don’t have people killing each other by the minutes. Like you said, it’s a tradeoff and it’s either you go to the US where you are 10 times likely to become homicide victim, but have much better occupational mobility and opportunities or you choose Canada where there’s peace and tranquillity, but low occupational mobility and limited opportunities.

I've lived in Ontario for 15 years, but fled from there. I migrated there as a skilled worker and even obtained a professional license to practice in the province. I had many international friends and clients appreciated my services. However, I realized that there was no equal opportunity for the basic public services or fair and equal protection under the law for me (cronyism among people with authority in the public services was bad). I could not see things were getting any better, and felt risky staying there. I was also getting sick of those fraudsters.. individuals and organizations .. just too many..

Bottom line is, despite all the flack and criticism, no country in the world has a more consistently open visa, migration and immigration policy than the United States of America. Well over a million people immigrate to the US year in and year out, completely outdoing every other nation on the planet.

Canada for the most part (with the exception of Quebec) is not a country. It's an overrated economic zone with no identity or culture, sitting in an uninhabitable cold terrain, that people from around the world migrate to only because their current situation is at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It's only way to survive is to keep attracting economically productive immigrants from everywhere. This survival drives its extreme political correctness and lack of any identity. The only positive about Canada is the Canadian Passport.

Advice about spouse support is most valuable . Canada Australia etc are only good as long as the globalists allow it , The day they show their real faces , things will turn to disaster for immigrants . We forget Kosovo , sub continent , Bosnia where all lived along for decades . Media will change it all in a day only in Spain , France Australia and Canada wherever we think it’s better . People have their reasons to migrate so I wish them prosperity and peace .

Interesting and entertaining to see this from an outsider’s perspective. I’ve been to every province, and they all have a lot to offer, but you barely touched on one vital metric: Interprovincial Migration. Of course there are always people moving from one province to another for work, marriage, etc.; for example, lots of people move to Alberta to work, when it’s booming, but one province consistently enjoys the highest Net interprovincial immigration rate: British Columbia. That’s a pretty strong indicator that B.C. is where Canadians most Want to live; which, of course, is exactly why our property values are so insanely high!

I'm from NB, people migrating from Ontario are driving up the house prices and we have no rent caps. Our public transportation isn't that great, and our food prices are $$$. We do have fresh air, Bay of Fundy and polite people. I use to live in Toronto and I can honestly say, some parts are like Detroit City, and this guy is wrong, our public schools are crap ..
