My parents couldn't raise that kind of money to pay for me to study in another country, or even in my own country. Life isn't fair, but Canadians need priority to be housed in Canada. India has very good schools at affordable prices for Indians, and also very high prices for international students. I looked into studying in India and I couldn't afford it as an International student. India should re evaluate its priorities, before spending billions on space programs. India should also decide who it wants to be friends with. I am sure there are lots of good schools in Russia, who right now it prefers over the West.

The visa process needs to be more strict. Being granted an International Student Visa should levy a higher threshold for long-term stay requirements after school. Also, the total years need to become a Citizen should be moved to 8 years, not 5. We need to uphold the integrity of what it means to be a Canadian, not allow and Tom Dick and Harry a Visa or PR just because they spend money here (Canada).

Hello Sir, with due respect: i am an international student from INDIA, you are always welcome to stay in any of the 30 provinces in India! My question to you is, if an International student is spending 7000 cad each semester and completing a 2 yr program with total fee paid 28000 to 35000 CAD excluding the exorbitant rent like 1500 per month and grocery and personal tax, would definitely wish to get back some of the money they invested here in Canadian land, am i right? Would you be thinking the same way if you invest in India? Secondly, none of the employers are offering any white collar job or office job to these students unless otherwise they have Permanent Residency status here in Canada: the only way to get “PR” is to work for some pizza store or tim hortons- its not by choice, only jobs you have here in Canada for any students and now construction field too. So kindly don’t judge any international student from any part of the world on their skills. All we need is a way out by Planning our future. Lots of comments are on these kids: just imagine on a sports day or a national holiday or on a stormy day who will be serving you a double double? Who will do Uber… Please dont hate, just like any human we would love to be respected and we are not going to take back anything from Canada. Thank you

I'm an international student. I believe this dilemma could have been prevented by having an online interview with each temporary resident applicant, especially students and their spouses, before making an entry decision. I'm not criticizing what the immigration department has been doing, but proposing an effective way that only the right people are coming into the country. This could massively reduce the number of immigrants coming in. However, I believe it is unfair that students and their spouses are left hopeless after spending tons of money on Canadian education.

People have to understand that no international student would take hefty loans to fly half way around the planet and spend $17000-20000 per semester to study! There ain't no Oxford or Cambridge level university in Canada. The government knows this. The government found easy influx of money, and looked at international students as cash cows for a long long time. Representatives from public universities go to other countries to invite more students. The whole system was rigged to extract money. Now, they can close those colleges and universities.

If you go to Delhi on a visitor visa, why would the Indian government approve you of a post-graduation work permit or permanent residency? This is because India is not a country who have policies or programs for student visas or permanent residency for immigrants. Yes, indeed, they should not demand permanent residency, but it is not the students who make these immigration programs including student visas or temporary work permits or pr, it's the Canadian government who introduced all these policies, and if somebody is applying for student visa and spending $50000 for studies, they are applying because they see potential for permanent residency and that's how immigration websites do the marketing for attracting the international students. If they had known that work permits or pr is not possible through any programs, they would not have applied at the first point. It's the government's responsibility to make it clear on their policies or on immigration websites. Now they started making it strict by closing those programs but it's too late, what about the people who are already here invested their money. They did not enter Canada by just waking up one day and thought lets go Canada. The government welcomed them and they approved them. The argument of the reporter is totally wrong because they did not know that they would face hatred or racism when they applied for student visas. Now they saw a large population and started hating.

While I agree with most of what was said in the video, there are a few major mistakes that are very misleading. For example, the video states that Canadians spends more on gas than any of the G7 members. This is FAR for the truth. I’m a German who moved to Canada 3 years ago. Gas here in Canada is HALF the price of what it is in Germany! So, the per litre price is super cheap in Canada! So, why is the total number on spending for gas so high? Because Canada is insanely HUGE. People drive insane distances and thus need an insane amount of gas. You can’t compare total spending on gas. You would need to compare the price per litre of gas, which is pretty cheap in Canada. In fact, the only country that has cheaper gas than Canada in the G7, is the USA. All the other G7 members pay more per litre. \n\nThen you also mentioned dairy prices. Yes, they are highly regulated. But compared to Europe, dairy prices are almost the same as in Europe. Again, the only country with cheaper prices in the G7 is the USA. What is (insanely) more expensive however, is meat, housing and groceries in general.\n \nIn general, your point still stands: Canada is insanely expensive. However, you listed the “wrong” items, because the ones you listed are relatively cheap compared to the G7!

Do you know where the tax money goes to illegal immigrants who defame your country and even want to destroy and hate you? They get a pension for two years and get an apartment for two years with paid rent and also a supermarket money card. The people are the ones who rule, not one person. Taxes, ridiculous healthcare where you need to spend 6-12 hours waiting to be seen by a “doctor” who will most likely recommend you Tylenol regardless of what problem you have; long wait times to see a specialist; poor education in schools with propaganda of unhealthy values; ask yourself why 60% of Canadians are on antidepressants - loneliness, unrealistic expectations to find a partner - long winters and life in debt are just few causes of it. \nWe left Canada in 2020 and happy we did it.

I am leaving the big cities and moving to a smaller town for the rest of my life. Good riddance Calgary, you leave a lot to be desired these days. I have been living in Munich since 2021 and I've never experienced any unpoliteness from locals. I came here with 0 German and first year I spoke only English. I'm spending a lot of time and effort learning German. And it'd be great if the government supported learning it. But I'm not complaining, because it was my choice to move here. Nobody promised me that it'd be easy. Regarding friends, it's not so easy to find new friends as an adult even in my home country, so I'd not say that Germans are unfriendly. I can't blame Germans, they already have connections like friends and family, and many of them don't need new friends. But you can try your luck with other expats, many of them also want to find friends.

Govt needs to increase spending in health care, housing, education and public transportation, while reducing spending for their corporate friends to get tax breaks and preferential rates for investments and development projects.

All the Universities, especially in Ontario Colleges official representatives came to my home town , and told me that if I spend this much amount of money to study this many years , I can apply for a PR. That is why I came here. I chose to study in Algonquin college, Ottawa.I spend 4 times more than a Canadian student which I don't complain.\nAt least authority should keep there word, or give back the money. \nThey should not invite those students.\nThose who telling us to go back , should go back first Europe and practice what they preach.\nStudents came here in a student Visa, which can legally apply PR. in canada my rent has doubled in last 5 years. Food price has gone up 4x, gas price at all time highs, but min wage, or pay from jobs has not gone up at all. 5 years ago I was able to barely make a little bit of savings, but now, I spend all money on bills, and have nothing left over to save.
