Slam the immigration door 100%. Do we need to increase our population? Really? More people drives up our CO2 emissions, allows undesirables to enter and stay here and increases the housing crisis - all of these are bad for Canada. Who has allowed all this to happen? There are enough people around the world who would like to come to Canada that in a relatively short time, native-born Canadians who may have lived in a community their entire life can be quickly overrun when we have numbers like these entering the country. The numbers of people coming from the same country meet up with others from their homeland & find it easier to remain within that clique than to actually shed some of their old lives & Canadianise. Those who do Canadianise are disparaged as selling out by their ethno-cultural community. They don't look upon people from the other side as fellow Canadians, because they don't see any fellowship in their Canadian citizenship. It's just a stamp on the back of their hand that gets them to this relatively safe country when things get bloody in their homeland.

So many high rises being built for the main immigrants entering Canada in the hundreds of thousands--with drug money, many without any education and the English language...bring their elderly family members who have never worked a day in Canada to pick up old age pension. The main problem is once you go through the long process of getting a college degree (computer science in my case and 3 years of help desk experience), I don’t get more calls, I don’t get interviews and I get the anxiety that comes with seeing everything getting more expensive, bills pilling up and no income entering the account. It’s dreadful, to see everywhere that computer science is in demand and you have to sleep scared shitless of going homeless. I don’t know if it’s because I’m Hispanic, my skin tone something in the water. I’m not staying in Canada. I’ve been living in Canada for 30 years. Now I’m leaving Canada for an Hispanic Country. Canada is still the easiest and cheapest to for international students to enter. Most of my friends are indian international students and although its been all over the news over there that canada isnt a good place to live anymore people still go for canada because its easiest. Hopefully something changes because this has been my home most of my life.

It has been obvious for a while now that immigration of any kind is no longer beneficial to Canada or in many cases for the immigrant. Housing is out of control expensive and the health care system has deteriorated to alarming levels as there are not enough doctors or nurses or beds to handle the preseent population. Now the prices for food, fuel and most other things have become increasingly expensive and with inflation and interest rates being a concern the issues are pressing from every direction. To be blunt, we do not need any more people entering the country for a few years until more housing can be built, more hospitals can be built, more doctors and nurses hired and inflation and interest rates brought under control. There is evidence that the economy is going to join the party as far as things to worry about and available jobs could lessen, not a good thing.

But, here are the (long-term) advantages of living here, vs. The Philippines:\n- free healthcare - no matter how rich you are back home, wealth can be depleted if a major illness strikes;\n- free education for your kids up to highschool and opportunity for your kids to enter worldclass universities after highschool;\n- government programs that actually work - Worker rights are upheld, doleouts when you lose your job, 12-month mat/paternity leave, doleout/govt match when you save for yr kid’s university educ, tax rebates for whatever you save for retirement, retirement income even if you never held a job, infrastructures are maintained, transparency and stability of political system; \n- safer environment - yes, greater crimes lately, but still one of the safest places to live. I live in greater Toronto, and sometimes we forget to lock our door at night or leave a bicycle outside and nothing happens;\n- commitment to the environment - the country adheres to protecting the envt. You can drink water from the faucet. Strict laws on recycling and waste disposal. Greenbelt protection on forest and conservation park areas, even in the cities. The issue here is that students that get permit to come to study but don’t end up studying, the problem with tourist without visa or with visa can come and are permitted to enter n stay for up to 6 months but once they are in, they overstay and break their tourism status or extend it but all along since the start they came to work and never to be a tourist , and probably Canada has it wrong KNOWINGLY OR BY “mistake” thinking they will get revenue from high fees on students and tourism but they get jack all

Fabulous video! US viewer here. But we often vacationed in Quebec’s Laurentians and our daughter went to Ontario’s University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree about 15 years ago. UofT was rigorous, to say the least, but she did it in 4 years, unlike some of her peers. She LOVED it, and made many friends, including internationals. They’ve stayed close on FB, and even get together (some flying in from other countries, including the Middle East and Asia) every 2 years or so back in Toronto. We’ve found the easiest way to make friends is by going to university or college together and living in residence, rather than once we’ve enter the workforce.\n\nThat said, and as unpolite as it may be, the root of Canada’s problems are exactly its politics. IMO Canada’s misguided liberal policies are to blame for its stratospheric taxes, cost of housing, increasing crime, tolerant drug culture, and deteriorating health care system. That Canada now encourages voluntary euthanasia to reduce health care costs should say it all. Margaret Sanger would be proud. Canada has a massive hypocrisy that counters their 'inclusive' image. They are in fact more exclusive than most places, and extremely elitist, and discriminatory. Their immigration does not help matters by having a system that is SO insanely classist, that really only rich people can enter, and even then, it may not be enough. I read about a millionaire that was rejected entry, because they had a deaf child! Can you imagine?? I'm currently in Turkey. Here for healthcare that is just not available in Canada. When we walk in a hospital in Turkey, it feels like entering a fine hotel.
