Hello brothers and sisters I’m seeing a problem here. The interest rate in the late 1970s and early 1980s interest rate was 12-18%. People\nComing now are in MUCH better financial condition then people who came then with nothing. The difference is two main things: many new immigrants don’t have the same drive and motivation that previous immigrants in terms of sacrifices such as not driving a mustang, but they also didn’t just settle for labour jobs, they used their brains and began business along side labour. Second thing is, the immigrant wants to see the result before putting in the work. If after getting out of the horrible conditions of India and coming to Canada, a country loaded with opportunities, you still have difficulties then you need to change your expectations and work ethic to match, if they don’t then don’t complain. Cost of living is not the issue, it is the false expectation that they give themselves. To be quite honest with you it takes most immigrants one generation not 5-10 years, so either start working smarter or wait to have this reflection of what Canada is like until you have lived here for 50 years.

Only good thing is law and order in westren countries.....which is not present in asian countries like Pakistan and india ...\nEach govt individual has a lot of protocols...but there is equality....no one can kill you without any reason and go away easily....no humiliation is present in us and Canada

While things in India arent exactly perfect, its not exactly Ukraine, Sudan, etc, etc. Seems like Canadians are being played for fools!

I have been to 25 countries across uk,Europe,north America,Middle East , hog kong,Singapore,never felt anywhere better than India. Yes other countries are definitely better in typical infrastructure but still India scores lot better in other things. Not talking in terms of fake patriotism but even for all practical purposes (offcourse my personal opinion) and tbh Canada I was never interested

I grew up in India and moved to Canada despite having family in the U.S. because I did not want to go through the shit show that is American immigration. That said, with the housing situation and generally how expensive things are in Canada, after 15 years, despite being a tech. worker, I decided to leave the country. I moved to Japan and despite the shrinking economy and demographic woes, I feel quite relieved to be out of the unsustainable shit show that is Canadian housing. Not to mention the weather, the absence of any dynamism in society or its culture, plus many other factors. It's been over a year now since I'm out and I frankly don't see myself going back unless there is a sustained correction in housing prices.\n\nFurthermore, I think immigrants don't understand how exploitative the Canadian economy can be towards newcomers. The problem with living in Canada vs. the U.S. is not comparable really at the level of immigration. Canadian immigration is easier but the problems of living in a smaller, less economically and culturally dynamic, more expensive, colder country never go away despite you having quickly received the opportunity to settle.

I have a different perspective… as I’ve lived in Canada since I was 2 years old (same with my wife). I’m in my early 40s and my wife is in her late 30s… the other thing is… we are of Sri Lankan decent… Tamils… BTW, I didn’t understand a thing from this interview… I’m going by what is said in the comment section.\nBut, hear me out… before you say… “Oh no… this guy has nothing in common…”\nJust so you know… I was born in Germany in 1980… my wife was born in Sri Lanka in 1985.\nWhat I noticed is all my uncles, grandparents would rave about the fact that if the war in Sri Lanka was over they would go back and live there… well… truth be told it’s been over for a while… and they go visit… but they built a new life here in Canada… and they’ve come accustomed to the luxury lifestyle here. They go back and realize that it’s not the same as it was when they were growing up… things changed… people don’t recognize them or pretend to recognize them only to take advantage of them because they know they are from Canada.\nThere is also the factor of advancement… both Sri Lanka and India is really catching up especially from the time the internet and the smartphone came along… nobody would believe… but the difference between Canada and Sri Lanka or even India in the early 90s… jeez… night and day… now it’s more equal especially in the major cities… but before… malls and escalators… people would literally ask what is that??? Elevators didn’t even have doors we had to manually close it lol…\nAnyway… that’s my point of view…\nAlso… way safer in Canada than India… how many rape cases do you hear about in Canada vs India???

One thing that’s tossed out of consideration is that a higher skilled immigration rate means more skilled people in general competing for the same jobs and depressing already out of sync middle class wages, as a future Electrical Engineer I don’t want to compete with the best from India, China, Pakistan, etc, when I’m already competing with the best homegrown US candidates for ever more demanding and limited entry level engineering jobs

i liked the ''by country quota system'' all countries should do that especially on indians its not fair that they make at least 1/4 of the annual intake of immigrants in canada and australia just because there are 1.4 billion of them ..they should accept more people from other countries in africa , latin america...and less from india to balance things

All explained here is based on minimum wage thing in canada, if you come in right time of age and get your own job profile then it may be a good option but if you move after 30yrs of age then there can be struggles to sustain. Rich in India and Middle class in Canada

This is highly biased just because they have moved to Canada doesn’t necessarily mean that Australia is any less .Both are DEVELOPED nations to be very precise .Australia has the highest wedge rates and yes as compared it’s hard to get into Australia than Canada because Australia is more into skilled workers it’s twice the size of India with only 2.5 cr of population and they manage their population and jobs at their best which is commendable and the same is with Canada as well .Every country has their own norms and have their pros and cons just because one couple has faced some issue with Australia doesn’t necessarily mean all the people have faced the same thing again it depends on the field you are working at . Covid has changed perspective and situations of every country one more Point Australia has never entered recession in 4 decades that’s a great point to consider . There is nothing wrong if these developed nations having strict barriers to consider people from outside as they want to manage things at their best be it for their own or international people living their which is the best thing any country can do for themselves and most importantly what people need to understand if they are from developing nations is that any developed country will be difficult be it CANDA ,AUSTRALIA etc nothing comes easy so to anyone getting little inclined towards any country I will highly recommend to have an intensive research on this as moving to any developed nations is not easy people have different mindset and perception you can decide what is best for you .?

I have been to few foreign countries....but it is like a business trip.....we do not get househelp...rather unaffordable....whole day we are working working office work kitchen work...look after kids...\n..weekend grocery cleaning backyard cannot visit anyone at random like in India...India is best..lot of food...festivals...relatives househelp ...phone and things are at home .....etc.

I do appreciate that but here in this podcast its about 3 main countries- Australia, UAE And Canada. \nRegarding Australia i can't comment much as i personally dont have any experience with that country but yes my cousins are there. Regarding UAE- Whatever ashr and sana said i dont agree at all because we have spend more than 15 years in UAE with very decent job. We were quiet free to do all the activities of bank, driving license and all. That country has its own charm. May be Ashr has worked in very small company where he has to go through those things but things are quiet different there. And yes it is very hot in dubai from may to August just came like punjab and delhi in India but aisa b nhi h ki bande ki jaan hi nikale. So i felt bahut jayada exaggerate kar k btaya ja raha h.\nOnly thing in UAE is that you dont get PR there.\nRegarding canada ?? it is a good country though currently less job opportunities here.

One of things that I learnt 33 years ago when I moved to USA was not to convert the money because you won’t be able to eat. I sponsored my mother almost 20 years ago and she didn’t enjoy living here because of her life and friends back home. It was very difficult to move here especially when you are in your fifties and especially if you aren’t working. One of the things that aunties are exaggerating is about the cost of the restaurant, I have never eaten in a restaurant that cost $400 for 4 people, even some of the best steak restaurants don’t cost that much. Final thing when they compare the Malls of Canada with India with limited supplies actually the malls here carry sizes that are not even available anywhere in the World. I do respect their views.

They tell groceries prices are more buy in India also prices are more and the present rate of Tomato here is 150 rs 1 kg and in Bangalore we dont get anything free i think so Cannada can improve certain things what they tell it may be better every country has its plus points and minus

Corporate America turns a blind eye to this because they want cheap labor. That’s why you’ll never see the immigration issue resolved until there’s full blown violence. In a country like Canada, where the labor pool is coming from India, the social programs would fail if not for the taxes and fees collected from these migrant low wage earners. The things Americans need to know is that our population needs to grow a lot to compete with the Chinese and India. And governments know this and prefer to have these folks come illegally because it’s cheaper labor for everyone. Things all Canadians don’t like\nPeople from India\nPeriod

That is still better than living in india. Quality of life in india is horrible. A single room apartment in india can easily cost between 25000-35000 in cities like pune , Bangalore, hyderabad and Mumbai. Mumbai is the most expensive. Salaries is so bad that an average person simply cannot have any dreams. Also many apartment in india which are rented don't even have gas so cooking food at home is not an option. Quality of food outside is horrible and also expensive. Water is of bad quality as well. So many things in india are actually more expensive than canada for example- phones , laptops, cars , fuel , protein supplements, real estate. My parents don't have enough money to send me to canada. So many times Living in india actually makes me wish I was never born. It's been years since I have stopped celebrating my birthday. Just existing and continuing to live because if I end my life who will take care of my mom and dad.

Australia had the same thing. It's just ONE BIG SCAM! No one wins. Not Canada, not Indians, not India!

We applied for PR. Got invitation for my family within 10 months. Landed in GTA in 2016. Stayed there for a one month vacation became PRs. Observed many things and spoken to many of my friends while I was there. Situation was pathetic in a nutshell. Went back to continue my job in Middle East. \nFor 3 4 years I thought about what should we do. Should we move or not. \nUltimately decided to let go the PR status & not Waste my savings on this PONZY scheme. \nStill working in Middle East and in Europe, family shifted back to India purchased a premium apartment a nice car. With our foreign savings I can easily retire in India - I'm still 39!\n\nBest decision ever!!!

I’ve been a Recruiter for Tech for over 25 years. Apply board did not invent the term “Recruitment Partner”. Google it many Recruiting companies have incorporated under this “Term” for decades. This whole thing is disgusting! Extorting Youth from India. India has some really beautiful ways in their culture and this is really tainting a lot of good people and destroying families. Absolutely right, all the points are true. One thing really bad is this so called free health care. I waited 3 months to see a doctor for my prostrate infection. An ear infection for soo many weeks to see a specialist. At last i went to India, it took 4 hours, I finished consultation, related tests, diagnosis and treatment. State of the art hospital. I paid a fees . My pain is not more important than money. Here canada even if you have money you have no choice \nIn short why people have to go through all this sacrifice to enjoy this lifeless frozen land, and lately Canadians became the victim of a Government lead by an idiot, called TREUDO, IDIOT TRUDEAU

I’ve been living in Canada for 5 years now and I can surely say that Canada is loosing it’s beauty. It’s high time government filters the immigrants it’s taking in the country and it needs to focus more on quality rather than quantity ?\nI love Canada and I feel bad seeing it shaping itself in an ugly way. \nI came from India 5 years ago and I can say this was the best decision but at the same time I feel Canada needs to implement this things to new immigrants coming in:\n\n1) Blend in the local culture and enjoy it the way it is and not try to bring the same chaos and stupidity from back home country.\n\n2) More stricter laws against violators (rowdy immigrants)\n\n3) Once they land they should be given an etiquette lesson and good briefing about Canada whichever airport they are on.\n\n\n4) Better speak English at all times so that everyone can understand everything with clarity.\n(P.S: please don’t consider this racist as Canada has people from all round the world)\n\n5) Cultural festivals need to be celebrated in own space keeping in mind the privacy of others and be courteous to others making sure they’re not bothered.\n\n\n6) Not trying to force others to believe your way or follow certain religion etc and be respectful of others. \n\n\n7) Stop complaining and ranting about things they can’t control and not pollute the environment by being careless. \n\n\nI see a lot of my fellow people making mess of things his beautiful country and hence i hope Canada implements the above points so we can have a better and happy society. \n\nCanada is a land of opportunities and yes it has got some flaws in the system but that’s not what we can control. the part where the one student in India is asked why he wants to go in Canada and he says he wants a white collar job and the life he dreamed of which I would imagine entails a Canadian wife as well? In other words, shouldn't Canada try to attract people to do work in building homes and things we need instead of rent seeking industries like banking, insurance etc... that doesn't improve the lives of Canadians already born here (and in some cases go generations back)

My education qualification are as follows \n1. Passed my Higher secondary examination in 2011 in Commerce . \n2. Passed my Graduation programme in 2014. \nThere are few years gap from 2014-2020 the reason behind it that I was preparing for Indian government examinations but somehow i could not crack and did not look for any alternative option at that period . \nBut later at 2021 I cracked in private sector examination and got placed in Imerit Technologies Pvt limited as an ITES executive . \nAnd currently it’s been 1 year 6 months + I am still with imerit technologies and want to pursue for further studies in Canada . \nI want to know will I be eligible to do pursue this course ? \nAnd if yes what are the necessary things to do to get admission in colleges ?
