Canada never assured PR for anyone, at any point of time.\nOnly the eligible will get PR, and the rest will have to go back to their respective countries. \n\nIt is a positive news that about 1 million temporary workers/students will be given PR in the next 3 to 4 years.\n\nI remember a student, who came to Canada ?? in 2007, studied/ worked for 5 years, and went back to India, as she didn't not get PR.\n\nOnly those occupations which are in demand will attract PR. \n\nThere is nothing new in this. I’m an international student, from my perspective it seems like the government can’t keep themselves from messing with the economy, basically crippling it by regulations, making the market unable to take advantage of the increased labor supply.\n\nI have spent almost half a million in Canada, which includes tuition, living cost, and starting a business which now employs two Canadians. But because I spent one term as a part time student, I have became ineligible for PGWP, which means I have no way of staying in Canada through my own agencies.\n\nThat is a slap in the face for immigrants whove come here to settle, the fact that I have positively contributed to the Canadian economy than many Canadians ever have, while withdrawing absolutely zero from public benefits, now if I buy a house here yall will drop on me a 50%+ capital gains tax and then kick me out, why would anyone want to invest in Canada? I’m seriously considering just moving to Florida because of all these. \n\nWhat happened to the good old days when you can come here with nothing, integrate into the community, and then become Canadians? Almost none of the forefathers of Canadians had to contribute this much into the society first to become Canadians, they stayed because their peers wanted them to stay, and the market was free to adjust to the labor supply and housing demand without government interference.\n\nWhat I see is not an immigration problem, it’s a big government problem, Canadians have become addicted to the government making decisions for them. The government has its grip on every aspect of Canadian life, it has hindered the responsiveness of the economy so much, that it cant even pivot to take advantage of free capital (int’l students) and third world labor rates (temp foreign workers).

The housing shortage is a common thread to the economic/ housing crisis! But why aren’t they building rental units??? Simple, would you build a plane if your passengers simply boarded the plane and refused to pay?? if that were to happen the offending passengers would be de-planed and arrested! \nBut when it comes to renters, they can move in, stop paying rent and it can take 6-12 months to legally evict them. As a former contractor I have been witness to landlords offering cash to tenants and squatters to leave their properties which have always been left trashed and badly damaged! The laws that protect these criminals are a joke and predatory tenants know it! I had a client who rented her condo to a lawyer and after a couple months the tenant stopped paying. She filed for a writ of possesion and waited months for the hearing. She brought all the documentation and the tenant showed up claiming they had cancer ( no documentation, letter from doctors Nothing!) The writ of possession was denied for compassionate reasons! The landlord had a mortgage and was paying the condo maintenance fees, the tribunal didn’t care! \nThey set it aside for six months. In the end cash was offered and the tenant left! After the massive clean up and damage was repaired it was put on the market! This is how far left Canada has gone! There’s simply no way forward!

I appreciate the effort these two women are making to educate Canadians about their own country, but! I can see that their focus is strictly the Gen Z crowd, who really need educating, but not by a couple of foreigners who are just trying to make a living. Good for them. I admire your tenacity. There are 13 different cultures and societies associated through a federation with a central government in Ottawa. Every province is unique in its politics, social programs, even cultural events. Not every province and territory celebrates the same holidays, memorials or statutory holidays.\nPeople in Newfoundland are as different from the rest of Canada as the Scots and Irish are in their homelands. Alberta has cowboys, BC has sailors, Saskatchewan has wheat and Manitoba has the Guess Who and mosquitos. Ontario is just arrogant, Quebec is just Quebec. There is NOTHING Canadian about Quebec. If they had it their way they would have been independent since the 1750s. They don't even like to speak English. They do it out of obligation to the federation. \nThe Maritimes are again, unique unto themselves. They could easily be an independent nation and then their true culture would shine. Why they practically speak a different language. They have been here longer than any of us and are in fact the most unique culture in all of Canada with the exception of one very important factor:\nThe First Nations of Canada. Their culture is as different from 'European' as Indian is from Chinese or Russian and Korean. \nAnd they have been here for thousands of years. So, who in Canada is going to step up and start the road to housing recovery? Will it be the lumber companies, who charge us more for our own wood than they do the Americans, Europeans and Chinese? I appreciate your take. I believe Canada's key issue is that it is facing a cultural decay, which is not exclusive to Canada. Many countries in the west are challenged by similar things such as aging populations and unaffordability. \n\nIt works in a cycle: governments and corporations take turns screwing over the general population and most people cannot afford anything. Corporation does A then government does B; government does X then corporation does Y. On the surface, government is _trying_ to do a good thing, but it backfires quite often, leaving the average person feeling scorned. \n\nChief among these corrective measures was mass immigration, and because there was already a climate of indignation, the introduction of too-many-immigrants was a huge slap in the face. Instead of making sure Canadians were better taken care of, the government responded to the corporations--not the people. \n\nGDP numbers mean nothing to the average Canadian person if their quality of life is in decline. The only people still in favour of mass immigration are those who do not have to confront it on a day-to-day basis. Even Canadian-born (or even Canadian Citizens of 5+ years) minorities, think the immigration problem is too much.

Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

stop bringing so many indians and middle east people here, they come here with a lot of problems, they're fighting on our streets, taking peoples jobs, replacing the culture ... here in Ontario I barely see Halloween or Christmas -- because so many indians have moved into my neighborhood. 23 years ago, these streets were all about Christmas ...lights and all. I'm an immigrant who came here with my family on a sponsorship program in 2008. Never got in trouble, worked two jobs and busted our asses off to get the citizenship in 2014. America, a country that manufactures next to nothing thinks they have the leverage with pricing, simply because they purchase so much? As someone who formerly worked with the DHS, and by extent, ICE, the real headache that comes with deporting someone is verifying a derpotee's nationality/country of origin, and getting said country to also verify the deportee's nationality. Information one with nothing to lose will most likely not give up willingly. Contrary to popular belief, you can't just take any illegal and throw them over the Mexican border (unless you're actually Mexican by Nationality.). If they're from any country that doesn't border the US, i.e Mexico or Canada, they must be repatriated to their countries via charter flights. Which is another diplomatic headache unto itself.

I'm also an immigrant, been in Canada for 16 years, came here initially for uni. It's funny that I have no negative feelings towards immigrants from any other countries but India. And I didn't have any negative feeling toward them before I came to Canada, if anything, I only remember something positive my grandma telling me about Indian people being beautiful, that they have big beautiful eyes. After I came to Canada, over the years, based on countless personal experiences dealing with them, sadly my conclusion is 99% of them are bad, 1% are the exception. They are aggressive, rude, stinky, unhygienic, dishonest, always trying to take financial advantage of people or situations to save a few more bucks by being super annoying or cheating, extremely disrespectful and aggressive towards women!! Really nothing is appealing about them. And at a job position, 1 Indian will bring 10 Indians, 10 will bring 100, they are slowly encroaching the environment and taking over everything. Other races try to assimilate into the local culture, while the Indians are imposing theirs onto the local and other cultures. Canada feels like it's turning into a second India. It's lost its politeness, manner, rules etc. I no longer want to live here, I plan to move back to my country after a few years. And I don't really go to Tim Hortons anymore cuz the Indians are taking over all the franchises and lowered the standards of Hygiene and friendliness. I don't think I'm being racist, cuz I'm not having all these negative feelings based on their skin colour or origin. It's purely based on real life experiences in dealing with them.

As a Canadian citizen I agree with you on a lot of things and the same thing applies to an extend to Canadian. As a Canadian I see my churches getting burned, I have been spit in my face by Muslim people either because I am not covered, but I’m Canadian why should I, right? Yes but as you said you're into nature. Not everyone is so at least in the U.S. for example, there's plenty of nature but there's also plenty of exciting places to go otherwise. NYC, LA, Vegas, Chicago, Miami etc etc. Canada has nothing like those cities.

No, it's the Canadian colleges and economy that is affected, they will lose around 3 billion dollars per year because of this move. Canada does NOT need immigrants, she needs more homes, jobs and more English and French, not punjabi or mandarin, much less spanish. people from those areas contribute by and large, nothing and Canada appears to be adapting to immigrants , not immigrants not to Canada.
